Ouderwets hotel op een perfecte locatie aan de rand van de oude binnenstad. Perfect ontbijt. Ruime kamer (althans die van ons) wat gedateerd maar netjes. De bus vanaf het vliegveld heeft zijn eindstation en begin naar het vliegveld precies naast het hotel , dus geen eindeloos gesleep met je koffer.

Accommodatie ligt midden in het centrum. Je bent snel bij alle populaire attracties. Winkels/pubs en restaurants in de buurt. Qua onderhoud kan het wel een likje verf en qua inrichting (bad)kamer meer praktische meubels gebruiken. Een extra stoel om te zitten en een kast op de kamer lijkt me niet overbodig. Qua hygiene is het goed. Iedere dag schoonmaak en schone handdoeken indien wenselijk. Het ontbijt is vooral Engels georiënteerd maar op verzoek veel mogelijk. Er is een ruimte waar je je koffer kwijt kan indien je kamer nog niet gereed is. Bij de bar is een lounge waar je rustig kan zitten. Hier kan je je telefoon ook zonder stekker opladen. De busverbinding naar en van het vliegveld ligt om de hoek. Kortom een mooie locatie en goed hotel als je geen super luxe verblijf nodig hebt.

Super gelegen pal in het centrum. Wat meer aandacht voor nieuw vloerbedekking op de kamers zou geen overbodige luxe zijn.goed ontbijt en vriendelijk personeel. Openbaar vervoer pal voor de deur. Ook de bus naar het vliegveld ligt naast het hotel.

The hotel was in an excellent location. The room was clean and the staff was great! The only downside was the tub/shower was a huge step in.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of many Edinburgh destinations. Our room was lovely with two large window looking out on Princes Street. The daily breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very attentive.

The hotel was within easy walking distance to old town as well as transport to and from the airport. The alley behind the hotel was noisy, beginning at 5am. The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable but with only 2 small windows the room was dark. We would stay at the Waverly again but would request a front facing room.

Carpeted floors were kinda gross, there was no phone in the room to contact reception or order room service, they gave me the wrong luggage when I went to pick it up from storage (they didn't check the tag number). Aside from that, it was a reasonably priced and reasonably comfortable stay. It is exactly worth its 3-star-rating.

We understand that the stairs leading to the reception are not ideal - especially for elderly guests and those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. As is stated on our website and all of our booking partners’, the Old Waverley Hotel is a listed building, meaning it is of 'special' architectural or historic interest, which enriches Scotland's landscape. Sadly, this means we cannot have a lift from the ground floor, due to the age and characteristics of the building, but we do offer a concierge service. We are glad to hear that you had such a pleasant time with us, despite this issue, and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

This was an absolutely fabulous period hotel, well updated, phenomenal staff, adequate dinner options at the in house restaurant/bar. The elevator is small, but efficient. The staff was gracious about helping carrying baggage up stairs to the check in. The location can NOT be beat for access to the city and all of its views, train and bus transit etc.

The Old Waverley is very conveniently located on Princes Street. Although slightly outdated on the inside, the hotel is extremely clean, with spacious rooms for the price. The staff were courteous and provided the necessary support.

Positief: Netheid, personeel en service, voorzieningen en staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
The hotel is perfectly located for a first time visitor to the city. Many attractions are within a short walk as well as a massive selection of restaurants. The staff were very helpful and we were able to check in early as our rooms were ready. Breakfast was great with a fantastic view from the room. We had a great time in Edinburgh and the hotel was a big part of the fantastic experience.
