the noise from the road was very loud and I asked to change rooms. rooms are cleaned every 2 days tea bags and milk were not refreshed, I had to go to the bar to ask for more. the rooms were away from the pub/ restaurant so if there was a problem in the night I am not sure who I would call. To get to the rooms you go up outside steps, the light does not come on until you are half way down the steps so in the dark is dangerous.

Great place with easy access to the City Centre
We flew in for a wedding in the West End of the city. The Torfin was perfectly placed between the airport and the venue. The rooms are small but beautifully decorated with a comfortable king bed. Even though we had a road side room, we were not aware of any excessive noise. The rooms are accessed outside of the pub which we saw as a positive as you don't need to go through a pub to get back. There is a bus stop to the city centre right outside. The 26 gets you there in 10 minutes and runs around every 10 minutes. From there when we left it was £10 in an Uber to get to our car hire place so we could get to our next destination.

This property is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, both the B and B and the restaurant down stairs. We used Uber to get around. About 10 min. In to town or out to the airport. The only thing I would change are the bed pillows. They are very thin and offer no support.

It was a great one-night stay and accessible to public transportation and less than 15mins. drive to the airport and downtown. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The area was clean and safe. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Our room at the Torfin was comfortable for our 1-night stay. Bed was comfortable and the shower was great. It was quiet as well for a good night sleep, though I note the restaurant was closed the evening we stayed. We did however have some minor issues with cleanliness with small noticeable stains on the sheets and sticky dirty floors that we weren’t happy with.

Warm and welcoming
I went straight to the Torfin after a long, tiring international flight and was so impressed by the welcome I received. It’s a small hotel (just four rooms above a pub, basically), but they go above and beyond to care for their guests. The room was so cool—lots of nice touches throughout! I ate lunch in the restaurant and thought it was first rate. I’d happily return, if I’m ever lucky enough to come back to Scotland!

Our room at The Torfin was clean and newly renovated. The decor was lovely and the rain shower was a highlight. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and it was lovely to have delicious food right at our hotel. There is a very small spot to park, so if you need to park a car it can be difficult. Please be aware that the entrance to the hotel is outside and up a flight of stairs so it can be hard to navigate with large bags in the rain. The bed was nice and big but the mattress seemed old and saggy for such a new setting. I would stay here again but maybe not for more than a night or two.

Nice room not much else. Quite pricey for what it is. A little out of town but frequent buses. Staff friendly but not always on hand when you need them as they are working in the bar.

It was a lovely spot and easy to get to within the city for downtown trips by bus. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Cute mini hotel above a great pub! Decent access to the airport, and city transportation that goes right to city centre. Staff were great! It is a bit loud later at night, you can hear music from the pub. Otherwise, really great spot! I’d stay here again.

Surprisingly good hotel excellent value.
Overall the room was very good. Immaculately decorated and spotless. Cannot fault any of that. My only criticisms would be room layout and check-in and check-out. Everything in the room is lovely but not set out practically. The mirror top round table with kettle and cups ,although lovely, was a major trip hazard at the end of the bed. It left no room to pass and was not really required. The tea and coffee were over the other side of the room why not put the kettle there too? Check-in was a little awkward. There’s no designated area for this but the staff kindly kept our cases when we dropped them off early-very helpful. Checking out was very strange. There was no clear way of doing this prior to the bar/restaurant opening at 10 am. Overall though the room was lovely and the food in the restaurant was very good. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely room and so dog friendly
I had a friendly welcome on arrival and the dogs got a lovely welcome pack for their stay. This was a lovely touch. The room was clean, nicely decorated and had everything I needed. I slept very well even though it's on a main road there was little noise. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are travelling with dogs.

Our room was lovely and very boutique style. Lovely en-suite with amazing double shower with huge shower head! Clean towels and fresh coffee from pods nice touch! Breakfast was ok and host was very friendly and helpful.

The Torfin is a set of rooms above a busy gastropub in Edinburgh. I was reassured on check-in that the noise outside the window would conclude after 10 pm last orders and this was correct. The room was small but v comfortable and clean, and included several welcome amenities, such as a coffee machine.

Die Unterkunft war ein neu renoviertes wunderbares Häuschen mit 3 Schlafzimmern, 2 Bädern und Garten. In jeder Hinsicht zum Wohlfühlen. Wir bekamen ein tolles Frühstück ausgerichtet auf unsere persönlichen Wünsche und am Tag vor der Abreise noch 3 große gemischte Platten mit Käse, Wurst, Kuchen und Obst als Wegzehrung für die Heimreise. Der nette Herr bei der Bedienung war besonders charmant und witzig und gab uns ein Gefühl zuhause zu sein. Tausend Dank an das Team vom Torfin. Wir möchten gern wiederkommen.

Bardzo dobre śniadania, nowa łazienka, pokój trochę mały. Na dole znajduje się restauracja. Dobra komunikacja z centrum i lotniskiem. Wifi działało niestety średnio.

The hotel bedrooms were up a steep set of stairs so wouldn’t suit less able bodied people. The room was compact but lovely.

Eramos 6 personas adultas que ocupamos el apartamento (casa) de 3 plantas situado detrás del restaurante. La decoración era muy atractiva y su estado de conversación y tamaño excelentes. Su situación también la hicieron muy conveniente, al tener una parada de autobús en la puerta que te lleva al centro de la ciudad y otra un poco más alejada al aeropuerto. El desayuno fue abundante y de calidad. Los dueños y el personal del restaurante fueron muy atentos con nosotros en todo momento, sintiéndonos como en casa.

We stayed here on our last night in Scotland. I can't remember the girl who helped us when we checked in (think she might be a manager) but she was absolutely fantastic. Welcoming and so helpful. We had the room called Bowmore, very comfortable bed, nicely decorated and modern bathroom with rain shower. Went downstairs for dinner and was helped by the same lady, and when we explained we would be leaving very early next day to the airport offered to leave us a small continental breakfast outside our room door. Would definitely recommend & would stay again.
