Comfortable bedding and furnishings. Pleasant and efficient staff, could have had the parking lot better plowed. Overall, a wonderful weekend stay.

Should have known the hotel was under renovation
The hotel was under construction, but I was not aware of this when I made the reservation. While it was not horrible, there were things that did not meet my expectations (eg, tub condition) that I wish I would have been able to anticipate. They should make it clear that the construction is going on before accepting reservations.

I liked the friendly service from the front desk. I was there for my wedding weekend and my photographer and make up artist were coming in on Saturday. Staff was friendly and accomodating to them. Great service! Only downfall was I left an item behind in the room after checking out. I called the next day and they did not have it anymore in their lost an found :(

Too many other choices nearby
The hotel is “under renovation”, which has been going on for 3 years. The bed is blown out, a literal pit on one side, causing the person to be stuck in one position. Every employee we have encountered has been phenomenal. The housekeeping staff do a great job.

Tore up. Staff was friendly.
Looked like the hotel was undergoing a remodel. Wasn’t stated when we booked. Room was old and outdated. Dangerous nails for my 2 year old exposed on the carpet tack strip. Baseboards tore up. Probably should have quarantined the rooms they were working on, instead of renting them out. Would have been the right thing to do. Overall high price for a substandard stay. Staff was friendly and nice.

Very nasty rude staff..place is not clean at all.they offer no room service during your stay.worst hotel to stay at.just avoid the place and save yourself some stress and time.beds smell badly,floors dirty nasty.just stay away trust me.

Have stayed at this property several times in the past and never an issue until this past trip. I reserved and paid for a king studio suite, through Orbitz, we were traveling with our daughter and our grandson( 5 yo), we also had a late check in…room key did not work, ok, clerk had to manually do something to the door so that we could get in, we walk in to a king room, no sofa bed….I go advise the clerk and he blamed it on orbitz, I asked him to get me the room card for the correct room and he again blamed it on Orbitz, no apology for the error, just a little mouthy about it. I asked him to stopping placing blame and just get us into a room…he hands me the key cards and we move to a different floor, a king studio suite! The pullout sofa mattress had no support at the foot of the bed, literally hanging from the frame( I have pics), no bedding in the closet so now I have to make a phone call…not a good experience this trip.

We apologize for an inconvneience you may have faced during your stay. The room you booked was, in fact, a king studio suite and not a king with sofa suite. In the past, you booked directly with us for a king with sofa suite. To avoid confusion, we would advise to call us directly and book for your specific needs, or call immediately after booking to confirm you booked the correct room. Again, our staff still gave you a complimentary upgrade. All furniture is in the process of being swapped and should be completed very soon! We hope to see you again and Happy New Year!

The hotel is hard to find. Once there it was fine. No breakfast available. Paid or unpaid. For a place that is a bit off the beaten track, that not great. Our bed and room was absolutely fine except for a large leather chair with ripped upholstery. Really ..,

Some of the staff weren't wearing masks. The young gorgeous Diana woman, working nights, anticipated my request to change rooms because the heater wasn't working very well in the first room I got. She was great.

Don’t stay here!
This hotel is terrible- the room had no couch but it was called a suite- they requested a deposit and 4 days later after check out I still have not gotten it back. If you are looking for a hotel in the Elgin Il area that is pet friendly - look elsewhere.

Jeanine, you just called us minutes ago and were provided an explanation. You checked out on a Saturday. Your deposit takes 3-7 BUSINESS days to go back to your card. Monday (yesterday) would qualify as the first day. This all depends on the guest bank, since the amount is dropped immediately from our end when you check out. The room you booked was our double studio suite. We do not have any suites with a couch and 2 beds. We do have them available with king beds for future stays. Please make sure to check accordingly so you know what you are booking.

Dear Guest, all toiletries and towels are replenished free of charge at the front desk. This is standard policy for any Candlewood Suites hotel. Candlewood Suites is not a chain that offers breakfast, but does have a convenient store in the lobby for all of your needs that also has 24/7 coffee. These IHG Candlewood policies are not a reflection of management, as they are only following protocol. Have a great holiday!

They need to add a towel bar in the bathroom. There is no place to hang a wet towel. All the staff was friendly and very helpful. They provided everything we needed. We felt safe/secure and slept well each nite of our stay.

Our stay.
Our stay was close to the medical building we needed for our tests. The service was great and Harin made sure we knew if we needed anything like new towels, coffee or anything like that the front desk would have it. It was a very nice stay.

Terribly dirty. $200.00 deposit. Kitchen stuff consists of few pots & pans. 1 spoon 1 fork. Was deep in an industrial park, next to nursing home. Was incredibly filthy durty bathroom and rooms. Noisy.

The Revenue Manager Harin Yogina who was at the front desk was amazing! Friendly warm and helpful. He made us feel like we were the only two people (my wife and I) in the whole building. Great service. He deserves a raise.

When we arrived we had to wait about 30 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to check in. We were told we had an newly renovated suite but there were obvious stains on the carpet and the hot water didn’t work in the sink. There was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom and only one towel for 2 people.

First room we had walked in saw carpet heavley stained, food crumbs between beds on floor. Baseboards were removed showing nail holes and bare drywall. No table or chairs to sit on or to put luggage on. Missing handle on cabinet. Bathroom had electrical box with wires hang out, no tp holder no towel bars. 2nd room carpet was in serious need of vacuuming. Also no tp holder or towelbars. Tube leaked leaving big puddle in bathroom. Also no baseboards with nail holes and bare drywall. AC unit was noisy.

It was nice, pricier compared to the local hotels and also no breakfast was served. Was reasonably clean they should also focus on cleaning around the ac unit. I saw a spider in the ac unit.
