I wanted to enjoy our stay, but unfortunately the experience was consistently disappointing.
Service issues occurred daily, and several staff interactions came across as rude or dismissive rather than helpful. We arrived after the stated check-in time and were still made to wait an additional 40 minutes for our room to be ready, with no apology or accommodation offered.
Once in the room, things didn’t improve. The phone did not work, so calling downstairs wasn’t an option. There was no room cleaning, no replenishment of basics, and no amenities that would justify the price point.
The most frustrating part was paying $125 for a charcuterie board that was honestly embarrassing—poor presentation, minimal portions, and nowhere near the quality or value expected for that cost.
Due to the ongoing issues and lack of resolution, we ultimately checked out a day early, cutting our stay short.
Overall, the hotel relies heavily on its historic charm, but charm alone doesn’t make up for poor service, lack of amenities, and subpar experiences. With better management, training, and attention to guest experience, this place could be much better—but as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it.
