Wisteria Cottage is een charmant, historisch huisje in het hart van het pittoreske Topsham, in de buurt van Exeter.

Het huis is geschikt voor 4 personen in 2 slaapkamers en vormt een perfecte uitvalsbasis om te genieten van de winkels, cafés en restaurants van de stad - allemaal op korte loopafstand en om Zuid-Devon te verkennen.

Topsham ligt op een idyllische plek aan de rivier de Exe en is een historische stad die ooit een belangrijke haven was. Het heeft een schilderachtig maritiem gevoel met koopmanshuizen in Nederlandse stijl, Georgische gebouwen, scheepswerven en een drukke kade.

Tegenwoordig heeft Topsham een chique, kosmopolitische smaak met een mix van stijlvolle boetieks, antiekwinkels, galeries en bekroonde voedingswinkels en restaurants. Bezoekers kunnen genieten van onvergetelijke zonsondergangen over het estuarium, wandelingen in het natuurreservaat en zomerboottochten. Exeter en de lange zandstranden van Exmouth liggen op 10 minuten rijden.

De accommodatie is verdeeld over twee verdiepingen. Op de begane grond is er een gezellige zitkamer met comfortabele stoelen, een flatscreen-tv met kabel-tv en een dvd-speler. Dit leidt tot een ruime, goed uitgeruste woonkeuken met alle moderne gemakken - inclusief gasfornuis, koelkast, vriezer, magnetron, vaatwasser en wasmachine. De eettafel biedt plaats aan 4, uitbreidbaar tot 8. Openslaande deuren openen naar een ommuurde zonnige binnentuin met totale privacy.

Boven is er een grote slaapkamer met een kingsize bed met tv, een slaapkamer met twee eenpersoonsbedden en een ruime familiebadkamer met bad en aparte douche.

Vanwege de centrale ligging van het huisje, is een privé off-road parkeerplaats in de buurt gereserveerd. Houd er ook rekening mee dat er een niveau van weggeluid kan worden ervaren.

Boekingen:

• Kortingen: we bieden kortingen vanaf 10% voor boekingen van 7 dagen buiten het hoogseizoen (17 juli - 28 augustus en halfjaarlijkse periode).

• Het grootste deel van het jaar kunt u elke dag inchecken met een boeking van minimaal 3 nachten.

• Hoogseizoen en halve week van oktober bieden wij 7-daagse boekingen alleen met een vrijdag check-in. Maar we kunnen andere incheckdagen tegemoet, dus informeer.

Superfijn huisje in het centrum van leuk stadje topsham

Heel leuke vakantie gehad. Het is een ouder huis waardoor plafonds wat laag zijn voor lange mensen. Prima alles in orde en schoon.

Lovely Cottage

Beautiful cottage, very homely and spotlessly clean. We had an issue with the bathroom door getting stuck shut and i contacted Claire the housekeeper who came out immediately. Loved sitting in the peaceful garden and the cottage is so near to the shops and harbour. Fab to have a parking space too. Will come again!

Lovely little cottage

Lovely cottage just a few minutes walk from the beautiful estuary. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable with lovely bed linen. It has a nice little courtyard at the back and a parking spot five minutes walk up the road, which is a real bonus! We really enjoyed our stay in Wisteria Cottage and would definitely stay there again.

We had a very good week at Wisteria Cottage. There were two things to mention, one being that the bottom drawer of the oven fell off when we opened it and was difficult to put back properly. The other minor detail was that the screw became loose on the bathroom towel ring and could not be adjusted. Otherwise, everything else was of a high standard.

Convenient property close to Exeter

The house is generally functional but to us it felt a little 'tired' inside. Other visitors may not take the same view of course.The bathroom has a full size bath where a walk-in shower would be much more convenient. The shower cubicle is tiny for anyone of average size. The kitchen is the best room, with all utensils, gadgets and appliances that would be required for a short term stay. The garden is nice with practical garden furniture. One drawback is that a neighboring property feeds flocks of starlings constantly throughout the day, every day, so it can be a little unpleasant to use the garden. This isn't the property owners fault and other visitors may have a different attitude to encouraging these type of birds.The 2 bedrooms upstairs, with the bathroom in between, are quite okay with decent storage. We used the back room with twin beds because the front of the house can be noisy with the Lord Nelson pub directly opposite. (again this is outside the property owner's control). The twin beds are a little on the small size for larger adults and quite low to the ground.It is a centre terrace property but the party walls appear solid and we weren't disturbed in any way by the neighbours (apart from the startlings!). The property is very convenient for the bus to Exmouth/Exeter, and likewise the train station is only a short walk away. A number of pubs doing the usual pub food and a nice restaurant, The Galley, nearby.

Delightful place to stay

Wisteria cottage was a very comfortable and cosy place to stay. Everywhere was clean and in good condition.The bed was very comfortable with high quality linen. The location was within 2 minutes walk of the village centre and extremely quiet even though it was on the main road. The parking was an absolute bonus.We would very happily stay here again.

Wisteria Cottage

As always we had another lovely holiday in this brilliant property. It’s a real home from home. Has everything you need and is very comfy & cosy. The TV was a slight problem, but did not spoil our holiday at all. We are assured by Alex the TV will be replaced, so thank you for that. Our next trip is already booked for December so we can definitely recommend this cottage and Topsham is a lovely place to stay. There is a dedicated parking space at the railway station a short walk away and the bus stop (57) is almost at the front door, which takes you either to Exmouth or into Exeter in the opposite direction. There are plenty of places to eat, our favourite this trip was Denley’s the Essence of India, a short walk away from the cottage. Looking forward to our December trip.

We enjoyed staying at the cottage. It had everything we needed & we were very comfortable.I was very disappointed that someone let themselves in to empty the bins when collection wasnt due & did so unescorted & without asking..this should not have happened

Fabulous Christmas stay

My Mum and I had a fabulous Christmas stay in this gorgeous cosy cottage. Beautiful welcome with Christmas decorations, chocolates and a bottle of bubbly. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. Such a great location. And parking a bonus as a short walk round the corner. We will be coming back hopefully in the summer as a great spot to walk into Topsham.

Practically Perfect

This was the second stay at this cosey cottage . Perfectly situated for walking into town and along the river . Beds comfortable with quality bedding. Courtyard garden was clean and tidy the frount door needs attention due to sticking and really having to push very hard to open and toiket seat is to small for pan which is a little off putting . The private Parking was easy and a bonus in Topsham . Would highly recommended this cottage . cold). Only o )

Lovely cottage, ideally situated

This is my fifth visit to Wisteria cottage in as many years, which says it all really! Ideally situated, dedicated parking space (up the hill), short walk to train station (up the hill) and even nearer to buses, and short walk to shops and restaurants. Characterful cottage well equipped, always clean, and communications with property manager (Alex) and house keeper (Claire) always excellent.
