The lock in the first room wouldn't open, so the administration was quick and attentive to change our room, even at 4am when we got there. They gave us a bigger one in the basement. The building is very old, and has no elevator. Outside, and in the room the floors weren't clean at all but they were heated in our room. The laundry room was right next to our room so the noise from people doing their laundry was important. Breakfast was good.

It's a lovely property situated not too far from the airport. Lisha, the Host, was warm, friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and cozy, and the bed very comfortable. During my next visit to Fairbanks I know where I'll stay!

This worked well for us. We stayed for a week and having a kitchen was nice. It was easy to get around from here. They were accommodating with arrival and departure times. Would happily stay here again.

Had to go to gas station and buy batteries because neither of the remote controls would work and NO STAFF at this establishment to help....NO HOT WATER...Tried to take a shower before I went to bed and water was cold...Tried to take a shower when I got up this morning and water was lukewarm. not a fun stay for me.

I found this place to be a pleasant surprise. It was clean and looked great! There were no unusual leaks, smells, or pests. The people i spoke with were helpful, pleasant, and made checking in and out quick and easy. As far as Fairbanks goes, I will probably not be returning; I am relocating out of the state. If I ever do return for some absolutely insane reason, I would absolutely stay again. The proximity to the highway, the University (where I was visiting for a volleyball tournament, GO SEAWOLVES!), and the Holiday station makes it an ideal location.

The property had the following issues. 1. The TV was internet based. The internet did not work reliably. 2. The main door was left open with no building security. 3. The internet did not work all the time. 4. The shower drain backed up.

I generally like eclectic places, but this place is confusing in that there are a series of places run by a couple from their home. After one signs up, and it is non-refundable, you get a text warning you that where you are staying is not close to where you must check in. They have no phone number I could find on the web and they never replied to my queries. As I worried, I had to carry my bags a nearly half-hour walk to where I was supposed to stay. Just be aware that this is not run in a conventional sense and pictures on web are misleading. Otherwise, OK - like most ratings, a 3 star.

Not the same visit
This was a repeat stay as enjoyed overall stay in 2014. Upon arrival, there wasnt a greeting or very good instructions. I overheard some information when it was presented to another client. There was a lot of construction debris around the building ... grown over, so been there a while. We arrived for breakfast within the time frame and the hot food was no longer available.

MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT
So the lady charged us extra and insisted on us getting a larger room. And few days later after checking out, these shady and sneaky people charged 150 without even telling us. Were in the process of hearing back to have them refund it. This place was so dirty and nasty. When we checked out i felt so gross i took another shower when we checked in at our next hotel. Even their breakfast room was so dirty and nasty, not to mention, cheap! I didnt eat anything. There was hair on the chair from previous people and one of the beds wasnt even changed or made. Another bed had a worm on the bedding. The floor wasnt even mopped and the bottom of our feet was so disgustingly dirty. Weird lady owner and i highly DONT recommend this place to anyone!!! Also they need to change their name, i thought i was going to be staying at the real extended stay HOTEL. Not some cheap hostel!
