Fabulous host and house
I rented the house to attend my daughter's wedding and it couldn't have been a more perfect home away from home. Kitchen was well stocked and the house was decorated beautifully. The host was very responsive and helpful. Bikes and cornhole came in handy!!

Perfect beach getaway
Beth & Steve are amazing hosts! Sea Salt Cottage is a true gem. The location can't be beat: only a mile from the private beach on West Island and only 15 minutes from the New Bedford ferry terminal. The house is so comfortable inside and out, with a gorgeous kitchen, a cozy back porch, outdoor shower, swing, lawn for games, and a firepit. Our family has stayed at Sea Salt Cottage for four years in a row and can't wait to go back next year!

Lovely cottage
we loved our stay at Sea Salt Cottage- the property was well kept and very clean. The kids enjoyed smores every night at the firepit, bike rides around the island and ice cream from West Island Creamery. Beth was also a very responsive host. Highly recommend a stay here- the cottage brought us back to our New England childhood!

Beach vibe and feels like home
We LOVED our stay here. The house is beautiful with sooo many amenities...outdoor shower, swing, stunning back yard with flowers, playtoys, grill, comfy beds, awesome cafe porch, and a fully stocked and equipped kitchen. It's a great location too. Beth was very responsive and timely, as well as helpful for recommendations. You must eat at Off the Hook and take in the live music! Thank you Beth and Steve for sharing your beach home with us! We plan to return for sure!

Walking into Happiness
Someone obviously took great pleasure in decorating and outfitting this house. It had absolutely everything we needed and everything else to make a vacation incredible. The furnishings, the linens, the kitchen utensils, the outdoor bath..the backyard furniture, the back deck.....It was sublime.

Great Vacation Home
I have never stayed in a rental that had such a well stocked kitchen-from spices to flour to every possible cooking utensil. Kitchen/dining and living room well appointed with a spacious private back shaded yard, gas grill, fire place, and comfortable outdoor furniture . Storage shed with bikes, beach chairs and children's beach toys .Corn Hole game as well. Close to the town beach.

A perfect getaway spot
Sea Salt Cottage is a place where all your worries melt away. The accommodations are more than comfortable and West Island is such a quaint area. The private beach is so peaceful. With a grocery store only 10 minutes away & the ferry terminal less than 20, the possibilities for staying in or heading out on adventures are endless. This was our third stay at Sea Salt and we hope to be back next year!

Thanks for our stay at sea salt cottage!
I want to keep this short and sweet so I will just say, sea salt cottage is as beautiful and relaxing as the pictures make it look! The area of the location is wonderful, the beach is so close, and everything you could possibly need for your stay is at this house. Perfect New England getaway for friends. Beth was so helpful and responsive, and she gave us so many great suggestions. 100% would stay again.

Perfect New England Seaside Getaway
This place is just as the listing describes. Perfectly appointed house in a quiet residential neighborhood. Check in was quick and easy. Beth was the perfect host. Always quick with commmunication and available to answer any questions. The house, itself, is gorgeous. Huge eat in kitchen/ding room. Comfy living room and tons of high quality bedding for the guests. Where Sea Salt really shines though is in the outdoor space. Huge outdoor area with everything you need. Awesome fire pit (we used almost every night) and outdoor dining area. The outdoor shower has to be experienced to be believed. This isn’t a garden hose hanging off the gutter…this is a full hot/cold bathroom with a view of the stars. Definitely a highlight. We loved every minute of our stay.

This was the perfect cottage and location for a relaxing getaway. My husband and I loved every minute and would highly recommend staying here to those looking for a quiet, calm place near the water. Wonderful time with family
We had a wonderful time staying at the Sea Salt Cottage on West Island. Beautiful area that's not as busy as other areas so it was a nice retreat. Beth was great in communicating with us and letting us know all of the activities available to us, including hiking around the trails on the island. We really enjoyed our time and would stay there again.

Another wonderful Thanksgiving!
We stayed here three years ago to host Thanksgiving for family in the area, and we liked it so much we came back! Even in the off-season, a wonderful cozy home. Still impeccably decorated and maintained. Owners are very responsive and kind. We'll be back!

The home is beautiful with everything you need. The island beautiful and quiet, with beautiful beaches. Plenty to do in the area. Grocery stores, bakery, and restaurants close by. Lovely getaway
Sea Salt Cottage is the perfect spot to relax and get away from it all! West Island is lovely all around from its beaches to its sunsets to the quiet. An easy drive to the ferry terminal in New Bedford expands the range of fun and beauty to lots of other islands. Amazing Family Time
We just got home from this amazing place! Beth was helpful throughout from before booking, to giving suggestions before we arrived and answering questions during our stay. The house is a beautiful beach home, my daughter's lived the outdoor shower and tub. The inside was beautifully decorated and comfortable with everything we needed. The area is quiet and great for families. The beach was not crowded and everyone was so friendly.

Excellent location on a quiet island in a home with everything we needed to relax. House has a well equipped kitchen and a warm and cozy feel for our family. Absolutely beautiful beach escape
This house is a gem! The photos are beautiful but stepping into the house will take your breath away - so thoughtfully decorated, larger than expected, and everything you need for a wonderful trip. The beach itself is close, warm water and friendly people, but even bad weather is okay because you get to enjoy the luxury of the house! We did many dinner reservations "on the main land" and had so much good food. Beth was so easy to comminicate with, super helpful and very responsive. Amazing trip!

4th of July getaway
The home is lovely and situated in a family friendly beach community. There were a few issues with appliances... the refrigerator was set to highest setting but food/drinks did not get very cold. Outdoor cushions were left out in rain by prior renters making them too wet to use. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes very well had to run a few loads twice on highest setting. Way too much "beach decor" throughout home causing clutter.

HI Bridget, I am glad you enjoyed your stay at West Island. I am sorry you found the appliances not up to par.I wish we would have known so we could have sent someone over. They are higher end and are three years old. We will have an appliance tech go in and check them , as we have never had any complaints prior to yours. Thank you for letting me know. I have had so many compliments on the decor. I guess it is just a personal choice. I am so sorry this was cluttered for you.

Idyllic retreat!
Sea Salt cottage is without a doubt just about the best rental property we have ever stayed in! My family of 4 loved everything about it, Beth and Steve have truly created a home away from home. From the lovely cottage garden with fire pit, grill and tons of seating, to the superb kitchen and interiors, we all said we’d love to return. West Island is tranquil and has great beaches to explore and it’s fun to cycle around on the bikes provided at the cottage. Lots of possibilities for outings, we went to New Bedford (really close) and Boston (about 70 min). Most of our time was spent relaxing at this wonderful vacation retreat. Thanks so much to Beth and Steve once again, highly highly recommended!

Gorgeous Retreat
We loved staying at this beautiful, spacious home. I truly appreciated all of the bathing products, towels, and beach towels.The only recommendation I have is to have less decorative items on nightstands, end tables, and dressers as it is hard to set anything down. Also the amount of decorative pillows are beautiful but there is not enough room to put them after removing them from the bed.

We had a fantastic stay! The house is warm and inviting, well-maintained and beautifully decorated, very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen is definitely a highlight (of many highlights!), and the backyard was perfect for outdoor dining and play. We also loved West Island - beautiful and perfectly quiet, with easy access to trails, beach, and gorgeous views. Beth was very helpful, providing great suggestions for what to do, and also responding promptly to my questions. We really loved our stay at Sea Salt Cottage and would absolutely stay again!

A lovely home!
More beautiful than the pictures convey, which usually doesn't happen. We loved all the special touches and decor. The house has everything possible for a comfortable stay. The owners were very available and friendly. They provided all the info needed, plus tips for bike rides and best places for sunsets. Unfortunately for us, it rained for three days but the fireplace made the house so cozy! Five stars, and well earned! :)

Stress Relief Weekend
I travel quite a lot for business and pleasure and I have to say that this has been one of the best places that I have ever stayed in. It wasn’t the largest, or most expensive or most exclusive but what it was was simply amazing. To start it is absolutely immaculate and cleaner than any rental property I have ever stayed in. It has every amenity you could ever imagine and so well stocked. The home is finished wonderfully with great attention to detail and decorated to perfection. The yard is a pleasure with so many nice areas to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The location and island itself is a wonderful get away and you can adventure via bike, walking or driving. The coastline is beautiful and the trails are fun to walk while offering great views. There is absolutely nothing that I could change to make this home any better for a relaxing get away. When you add in how nice the owners are and the wonderful recommendations that they make you have a five star plus property. I will definitely return for more stays and will tell all of my friends about this place as well as everyone needs to experience it.

Idyllic, charming and comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. We really felt we were on holidays here and feel very lucky to have found this quiet island. The house had everything, great kitchen with everything you could need including a waffle maker and several options for coffee! Everything else was just really comfortable. The garden is beautiful and relaxing. We used the bikes and the kids loved being towed in the bike buggy. We also did several day trips to Plymouth, New Bedford and Cape Cod. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you Beth and Steve.

Great beach house for a quiet family getaway
We had a great time staying here with our 3 year old son, sister and brother in law. The island was perfect, especially for a "COVID" style getaway: plenty of room at the beaches, nature trails and places for bike riding. We have no complaints, but do want to caution those traveling with children that one of the bedrooms has a sliding barn door which is beautiful but not great for blocking out sound if the kids go to bed before the adults! Overall a very nice spot for a family vacation!

Loved sea salt cottage!
A beautiful home on West Island. Seemed almost brand new- must have been remodeled recently. Very clean. Lots of character l. Great location- beach on island was a 2 minute drive away and not crowded (this may have been due to Covid?). Nature trail on island also very fun and can walk to trail head from house. We had a camp fire and used the outside shower! They had bikes for all size family members. We biked on the island. Good sized yard, lots of beach supplies. Easy to get on/ off island to explore New Bedford, Fall River or even cape cod or Boston areas. Our 3 year old loved it as well! Would definitely recommend for a family week vacation!

Relaxing
We really enjoyed this property. We are not new to short term rentals, it’s something we do 2-3 times a year and this was one of our favorites. The moment we walked thru the door we loved the place. Super clean and had everything we could want or need. Highly recommend. We also took advantage of the beach pass a few days and glad we did. It was like being on your own private beach. We would come here again for sure.

Beautifully Decorated
Overall the house was beautiful. It was clean, well kept & the attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. Just a couple of disappointments. The ladder shown in the photo to the loft in the kitchen was nowhere to be found. It was a bummer to see how disappointed our 10yo daughter was when she realized the loft was not an option. Also there was a steel hammock frame in the backyard with no hammock to enjoy. Finally if you have an active toddler beware that there are lots of breakables. Probably a bit too many to be quite honest. Otherwise is was a pleasant stay.

Hi Jennifer, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry to disappoint your daughter. We had to remove the ladder to the loft and the hammock due to liability issues. We find West Island to truly be a treasured gem and love to share this with people.

This was one of the nicest house rentals we have stayed in. The home had a comfortable layout and was beautifully decorated and appointed. The home had a very well equipped kitchen and the shed was full of bikes and toys. It even had a chariot that goes behind the bike for a young child. We hope to come back again soon!
