Overall a great experience except for shoveling
Overall everything was as advertised. We had a great time and loved the location. The only complaint we had was that we couldn't get into the driveway without shoveling for an hour. The driveway was clear but the ridge at the end of the driveway where the plow cleaned the road was 3' high and 10' wide. I would think you could have that opened up for your guests when they arrive. Luckily I have 2 sons who could shovel to open up the drive so we could to the house. Other than that I we highly recommend this property.

Hi Bryan We are very sorry to hear about the driveway. Had we known, we would have gladly sent the plow contractor over to fix the driveway. Unfortunately situations like this do happen when our contractor starts plowing snow before the county makes its way to our road but our contractor has no problems returning to fix the driveway. Thanks again and please come back.

Snowy hideaway
Let me just say, I did not want to go to Colorado for spring break. My son begged and begged and I finally gave in. Giving in was the best decision!!! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous!! The setting was beautiful! The hosts were incredibly kind and checked in on us during the snowstorm. I could not have asked for a better spring break with my family!! It was exactly what we needed! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! Next time, I hope I see less snow and more wildlife lol! Thank you!!

Best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in!
This house is amazing! It had everything we’d possibly need and more, it was clean, beds were comfy, and the views were spectacular! Bill was most helpful with any concerns and quick to respond which was nice. It is in the best location too. We drove to Breckenridge,Frisco,and Cañon city and the drives were beautiful and the distance to and from the home wasn’t bad at all. This was the best trip and vacation home and it was worth every penny! Thank you Carrie and Bill for the use of your lovely home.

Great house, to far
The house is great. Lots of fun activities for the whole family. This house was fully stocked with all kinds of supplies, kitchen gadgets, spices/condiments, laundry and shower stuff. Both hosts were really nice and quick with responses to any questions we had. If you plan on doing lots of things in Breck, this house is about 35-45 minutes away. It is NOT close when you add up all the back and forth travel time. Altitude Sickness is real! My husband suffered from it terribly the whole time, we had an oxygen machine delivered to the house for our week stay and it helped a little.

Great hosts
First and foremost, Carrie and Bill are great hosts. Communication was easy and they are quick to respond to any questions or issues. There were a few minor things that came up during our stay and they addressed them promptly. They were nice enough to offer us compensation for the inconvenience and our time in troubleshooting. The property and house are as described and pictured, and overall we had a nice stay. There were a few (again, minor) items that kept us from giving an overall 5 star rating, but many were related to our personal preferences and may not apply to every guest. We appreciate Carrie and Bill sharing their home and being so easy to work with!

Perfect Anniversary trip!
Bill and Carrie were so sweet and communication was great! The pictures do not do this beautiful cabin enough justice! It’s so cozy and welcoming and has just about everything you would need for your stay! The views are gorgeous and it’s secluded enough for privacy but close enough for many things to do! Would highly recommend!

We enjoyed the house immensely, but the house is at approximately 11,000 feet. If you're sensitive to altitude, this could be an issue. We live at around 5,200 feet and felt ill for the first day until we acclimated on day 2. Enjoyed the stay but were not aware it was quite this high.

Cabin review
This cabin was great- very clean set up really well, everything you need is there. Communication with Carrie and bill was great. The area is beautiful and even beautiful views from the deck. The only thing that I would point out to families that want to book this cabin is that it is set on a steep hill, so being outside of the cabin and exploring was difficult with our 1 year old. We were hoping we would be able to play outside in the woods just by stepping out the door of the cabin. And that was not the case with young children. Older children would be fine I’m sure just not for our case this time.

SUMMER REVIEW: BEST CABIN EVER! DAD FOR THE WIN!!
This cabin was exactly what we needed in so many ways from rest, to views, to entertainment for the whole family, we couldn't have found a better spot. The cabin is far enough away from any of the tourist busyness to feel like a true getaway, but close enough to FairPlay & Breck to get the tourist experience as well. - Owners: Carrie and Bill made the stay so easy and their binder of instructions makes it even easier! I can't thank them enough for such a great stay! - Cabin: Beds/Bedrooms/Restrooms - They were comfortable and each room provided a fan if needed. We had six in our group and having 3 toilets and showers was so nice! - Cabin activities: This cabin/vrbo is one of the best I've seen when it comes to available games and activities. Ladder ball, Cornhole, board games, video games, movies..etc - Grilling/Cooking: The cabin has everything you need for grilling, cooking, and even a pellet smoker if you want to do a pork butt. - Outdoors & Deck: The views were amazing! Sitting on the deck or in the Hot Tub at night taking in the vast amount of stars, or the mountain views in the mornings with my coffee was one of my favorite activities. My only advice is definitely bring mosquito spray. There are mosquitoes, even at this altitude. - Altitude: buy BOOST if you aren't acclimated I have so much more I could say about this cabin & location. Ultimately, if you stay here it will feel like you found the best kept secret.

Fantastic Cabin, Comforts of Home
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the wonderful hospitality that Bill and Carrie showed us. The cabin was clean, the pictures are true, the location is beautifully scenic, and there are many extras. The hosts are kind and very responsive to any question or need. My 8 year old grandson had a minor medical issue during our stay, and they even had a first aid kit! We lacked for nothing during our stay and enjoyed grilling, smoking, fire pitting, and hot tubbing along with lots of relaxation. Fairplay is a great location to visit various areas in Central Colorado. We had excursions to Leadville, Cañon City, and Colorado Springs, and the drive itself was a treat. Do it! You’ll be glad you did. 😁

Had a lovely, nearly week long stay at this beautiful cabin. Exactly as advertised and Carrie and Bill were super responsive and helpful. Tip for others: there are plenty of pantry staples. Do not bother bringing pancakes or syrup. There are at least 5 boxes from other renters (us included) who left brand new packages behind!

We saw several moose on the way to the cabin, which was amazing! It is a short trip to Breckenridge and I would highly recommend staying here!

25 th anniversary
My husband and I had a beautiful vacation. The cabin was exactly what we wanted. We were able to see many moose!! It was far enough from the hustle and bustle of things , but close enough if you wanted to get out and about. The cabin is fully equipped with anything you may need!!

Beautiful Views and Awesome Hosts!
We absolutely loved our stay here! From the beginning, months ago, when we booked this site, the owners were incredibly responsive and answered all our questions. In addition. they supplied an abundance of information beyond our questions! We loved having access to a list of guest favorites for activities! The home was clean and cozy! It has every amenity and then some! We were pleasantly surprised with the fun old fashioned popcorn machine! Delicious! We also were surprised with the telescope! Sadly, it was broken (the scope attachment to the stand only). But, my husband, being an engineer, used some parts to do a “makeshift” attachment piece and we were able to see the beautiful moon and all its details one night. But we never even expected a telescope, so no complaints about it at all! We truly appreciated the stocking of staple items and all the kitchen utensils! We loved the hot tub and used it three or four times! The owners were very helpful with some pertinent information in the beginning of the trip! They are so responsive and my very first impression was that they were amazing and thorough when I first contacted them with specific questions! Would definitely return and/or recommend this home! Thank you for a lovely 20th Anniversary trip!

Breathtaking
Bill and Carrie's cabin on the mountain is one of the best ways to enjoy the beauty and natural splendor of Colorado's wilderness. The drive up and down into town really puts perspective on the amazing landscape and hypnotic scenery that the state has to offer. Any questions or concerns about the lodging or landscape were tactfully addressed by the owners in a timely manner and you can definitely tell there is a lot of heartfelt sentiment and pridefull attachment to the location and amenities provided for guest to feel at home during there stay. Truly a magnificent home away from home!

Cozy and fun
For starters even before arriving the communication with Carrie and Bill was excellent. They were always quick to respond and provided excellent directions and instructions on how to get to the cabin. The cabin itself was BEAUTIFUL! Even more impressive in person than in photos (and it looks beautiful in the photos!) The space was perfect for our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to make meals together. We loved hanging out upstairs by the fire, and watching movies downstairs while eating some fresh popcorn. We didn't get to try the hot tub as we ended up having to cut our stay a bit shorter due to a medical emergency. But even in the midst of our family emergency Carrie and Bill were so kind and communicative through the process. We're so grateful for their humanity and kindness. We came in the winter and we would say to hear their recommendation to have the proper vehicle. It can snow often and the roads can become dangerous fast if you don't have the proper vehicle. Then, to top it all off we really appreciated the way they honored our military by providing an additional discount off the nightly rate. As a military family, we're very grateful. We would highly recommend this beautiful cabin for you and your family! Thank you again for everything!

Nice place. Very quiet and peaceful. Well stocked. Lots of fun activities at the cabin. I wasn’t a big fan of the outdoor cameras point at the house. I understand the need for security cameras but seems a bit much. Owner says, cameras are turned off while being rented. Definitely wouldn’t mind staying again!

The house is as beautiful & clean as shown in the photos. The views were incredible! We got to see moose right from the balcony. You definitely feel connected with nature. The house was also equipped with anything you could want or need for your stay. Stop in Conifer on the way in to stock up on your groceries. Breckenridge was a beautiful drive with good restaurants and cute local shops. The drive in is bumpy and adventurous but well worth it!

Great place to stay.
This was our second stay here and have loved it both times. Everything is clean and works great. The surroundings area is perfect for watching moose, fishing and hiking. Far enough out to enjoy the quite but close enough to Breck for great meals and shopping. Enough high quality shops in Fairplay for any urgent needs.

Absolutely Beautiful in All Ways
This is a lovely property with an outstanding view of Sheep Mountain. It was clean, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities one could want. Five of us stayed very comfortably and felt very much at home. The owners were very responsive and kind (left us a welcome card and gift!!). Being summer time, we went on a couple of short hikes that were nearby, and spent some fun time in Fairplay. We cooked in in the well-equipped kitchen, with the grill, and ate out in Fairplay. All in all a wonderful, relaxing mountain get-away. Thank you, Bill and Carrie.

Amazing view & location, very peaceful.
Secluded, private and off the beaten path. Good distance from other cabins with trees providing a good screen and on a less travelled gravel road (it's bumpy! :) but only a few cars ever drove by during our 4-day stay. It is up a ways so it is nice and cool even in the middle of July. The property is wonderful and made us feel very comfortable and "at home". We enjoyed everything about this place - the location, the deck, fire pit, hot tub, BBQ grill (we didn't use the available smoker). The interior is very cozy and comfortable. We loved the huge windows in the dining/living area. All of the rooms had a nice window looking out at the trees. The master attached bath is very nice - double vanity and nice large shower. Kids loved the bunk beds! It was exactly what our bodies, minds, hearts and souls needed. Only suggestion is for master bedroom users - may want to bring your own pillows. It is close to Fairplay and we feel like we were in the perfect place - very quiet, calm, yet close to stores and gas. We travelled through Breckenridge up to the Georgetown train ride, and then also down to Buena Vista for rafting with River Runners - awesome experience! (Breck was beautiful but packed and very touristy, free gondola was closed due to lightning close by) Beautiful drives and views everywhere. The Hoosier Pass hike was absolutely breathtaking! It is fairly close to the cabin. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We would definitely stay in this exact cabin again.

We loved the sound of the rain on the metal roof, and the kitchen had all the gizmos a cook could want. The bed was very comfortable. The cabin is nestled in trees, so it was wonderfully private. The hot tub was convenient and sparkling clean.

Amazing Getaway
We had such an amazing time at this cabin. It is fully stocked with anything you could want or need and is very well kept. Centrally located to all kinds of activities and destinations. Or just staying and relaxing worked from everything that was available to us. The kids loved every minute (Foosball table was a huge hit!). It felt like home for a week! This cabin was wonderful! We brought our four kids for a mountain adventure. They are ages 8-15. Carrie and Bill were very easy to work with. The view from the cabin was beautiful. The hot tub and family entertainment room were enjoyed immensely. There are lots of options for close hikes but lots of gravel roads, so be prepared for that. The whole experience was top notch!

Wonderful Cabin Experience.
The cabin was super clean when we checked in. In the past, one of the things that gets ignored when cleaning is the hot spa, that was not the case. The spa was ready to use. The check out process was simple, if you read the contract agreement you should be good. We used the cabin at the end of April and it was snowing a lot towards the end of our stay. The Property Owner made sure to recommend a 4WD car, if not we would have been stuck. Best cabin experience to date.
