'I could have lived with the room's prison style window, the frayed carpeting, the ZERO bathroom counter space, and the passed out junkies across the street in the park. I could've lived with the comical "gym" that is literally the size of a walk-in closet big enough to hold a grand total of two treadmills and a few weights. 'Stayed here during a day trip with my daughter and had a great overall experience. The property was clean, appeared to be fairly new, and was conveniently located near the Capitol building. The only minor downside was the shower design. I’m not a huge fan of the partial glass shower door (or lack of a full door), but that seems to be a common trend in newer hotels these days. 'I come to Sacramento quite a bit for work and while there are plenty of hotels in the depths of downtown and along the Sacramento waterfront there are not a whole lot of options near the Capital and other state agency building. The Sterling is AWESOME for an affordable boutique stay in a very walkable and lovely part of town where accommodations are limited. I plan on making this my regular spot to stay when I'm in Sacramento.'
