Country Cottage + movie theatre + lake view + onsite massage studio!

Looking for a place of respite and fun? Enjoy country beauty ONLY 5 minutes from Fergus Falls and the interstate! We are located on a wildlife nature preserve lake where you'll see amazing sunsets & wildlife. Feel free to take a trail walk, sit on the patio swing, or play mini-golf. Then in the evening enjoy a campfire while stargazing, or come inside and use our movie theatre screen to cozy up with some popcorn and a flick. To make your stay even more relaxing, book a massage at our onsite Massage/Spa studio!

The space-

The cottage is located on our property across from our house but is private and is its own space. (One of our pictures shows the proximity) You will have a great view of our small private lake and all the beauty it provides. There is also a massage/spa studio on site, but is not in direct view of the cottage. However, you are welcome to make appointments if you desire, pending we have availability.

Feel free to use just about anything we have to make your stay comfortable, fun, and refreshing. If we didn't think of it...PLEASE ask! Although we don't have cable or a TV, we do have a DVD player and a roku device that you can use to log in to your own online streaming services. These are viewed on our movie theater type screen. Other amenities include a private fire pit hidden in the woods, patio with an electric awning, a grill, yard games and mini-golf in the summer, 3 frisbee golf nets, an amazing lake view, and 19 acres to access at your leisure with a few trails. Lastly, it gets very dark here so stargazing is a must on a clear night! Although the lake is NOT a swimming, fishing, boating, or beach lake, we do see lots of wildlife on it. The sunsets in the summer are A-MAZING and a must see!

In August 2020 we acquired a 14 hole mini-golf course! We built a few more as well. We are constantly in the process of rebuilding the obstacles and upgrading it. However, it is completely fun to play on it "as is." Let us know if you want to give it a try. It's located down by our massage studio.

You will be provided with both options of Keurig, or regular drip coffee.

Guest access
Guests are free to roam and explore our 19 acre property at their leisure including a few short walking trails during non-winter months. We are located only three miles from town so you will enjoy the serenity of being in the peaceful and quiet country, yet with the convivence of being so close to town.

Other things to note
At times we may have chickens that may free range in the non-winter months as well as a few friendly kitties you may see. If they bother you, please let us know. Our dog should be tied up when we let him out.

If your stay is during water fowl hunting season, you may hear gun shots from local hunters using the lake.

Because we live in the country we use a water softener to soften our water. The water is perfectly safe to drink. However, to help a bit for those that may only be used to city water, we have installed a reverse osmosis drinking water system in the kitchen.

The cottage and garage are all one building separate from our house. You may hear the garage door open should we need to access our garage.

A local guidebook is provided in our cottage upon your arrival. Contents include: our favorite attractions & local tips, a repeat of our house rules, a complete guide to our amenities both indoor and outdoor, and check-out instructions. There is also a hand-drawn map of our property. Let us know if you'd like us to email this guidebook to you in advance.

It should also be noted that our establishment is licensed by the local health authority.

Lastly, we are not hosts who are in this just for the $. We want you to feel like our GUEST! With that in mind, at the time of booking, please send us a message to get communication started between us. A simple message of what brings you our way is great! We aren't trying to be nosy, but we do raise a family here and like to feel comfortable about who we are hosting. We promise not to bother you or talk to you after that and give you your full privacy should you desire. Fortunately, we are not a hotel where absolutely no communication is necessary.
