'On entering the property we was greeted by the reception staff they were very friendly and helpful, they made our short stay feel at ease, had everything we needed and the owner was so polite even carried my bag upstairs and said anything we need just ask. Really can’t fault our room was lovely felt homely & cosy, the area was nice & quiet. Highly recommend this place. We had the family room as it was the last one left for us to book & was a great size room. 10/10 '
'Very nice hotel. Room was bigger than I expected and in very good clean condition. Although on my own, I paid a tiny bit more for the double bed which was a really good size and well worth it.
I also reserved a table at the on premise Thai Restaurant. Great food, freshly cooked and nice smiley service from all staff, meant it was a good experience.
The hotel bar is very good too. Has a pub vibe about it with TV showing sports etc.

'I can not recommend this place highly enough. Sheer luxury. The bed was so comfortable, we literally just sank into it. The bath was also amazing, much bigger than it appears in the photos. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were allowed to explore the castle as and when we liked. It is definitely worth paying the extra for breakfast, there was a continental breakfast buffet, with pastries, meats, cheese and fruits. After that you also get to order a cooked breakfast. We only had breakfast but it was delicious and plenty of it. The decor was lovely but needed a bit of tidying and the vase on the table needed a clean. I’m not keen on fake flowers which gather dust and the winter sun shows the glass vase needing a polish.

'Nice upscale hotel with large rooms. Good work desk and internet. Breakfast had lots of choices, both hot and cold. Nice location along canal, with a reasonable (if uphill) walk into town, towards the cathedral. Getting to the hotel by foot from the station more challenging due to the hill nature of town, and construction blocking various access ways.'
'When we arrived we saw immediately that the sofabed in the lounge was broken and could not be used to sit or sleep on, this was disappointing as it meant there were not enough beds for us all. We contacted the owner and the next day a chap arrived with an airbed. We requested that the sofa be replaced but that did not happen.
