I spent the 2nd week in October at Ard Beg with my family 2 teenagers, a 3 year old and a 9 year old, the house was perfect to suit our varied needs as there is 2 public rooms & a fantastic fully equipped kitchen & a separate huge utility room. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The en-suite and big bathroom, walk-in shower was perfect to assist us getting out early for the beautiful walks and surroundings that Fort Agustus has to offer. We had fantastic weather so we only needed the heating on for an hour every morning, the house is so modern and wind type that this was more than enough. We used the woodburner at night more for the novelty rather than requiring more heat.The views from the front room are stunning and every time my grandson loked out he saw varying wild life at every turn. We took advantage and fully explored Skye, Annoch Mor, Cambustarach & Morar and Inverness (45 minutes away) the most fantastic swim centre with wave pool & flumes. At 1st I thought a week in the Highlands might be too long for the family but no this was a holiday full of comfort, adventure, everything & more was there at Ard Beg and the village itself is fascinating with the loch & the canal. The local produce was superb both at the garage & butcher & the village eateries. I have booked up for Spring as the kids all want to return asap. I would fully recommend this beautiful, modern yet fuill of character holiday home.
