Fijne, comfortabele kamer
Tara Hotel is een klein appartementen complex net ten Noorden van het centrum bij Fort Lauderdale Beach. Het heeft een begane grond en een 2e verdieping. Aan de voorkant heeft het een klein zwembad om even af te koelen. Het complex ligt in een rustige wijk en is prima te bereiken. Auto kan gratis op het terrein geparkeerd worden en kon zonder problemen op het terrein blijven staan op uitcheckdatum. Kamers (zaten zelf op kamer 19) zien er netjes en verzorgd uit. Kamer was op begane grond en geluidsisolatie van bovenverdieping kan beter. Je hoort duidelijk de bovenburen heen en weer wandelen. Strand is op 5 minuten lopen en "uitgaans"gebied op een kwartier. Al met al ruim voldoende en waar voor je geld.

Our stay was not restful or peaceful at all. There was very loud music playing outside by the pool until nearly midnight. Then again in the morning. Now I love some music but I’m respectful of others. The lock to our door did not lock from the inside. The bathroom door was difficult to open and close due to it rubbing against the floor. You had to literally use your body to open and pull it open. Others had issues too as you can see pieces of the bottom brushing and cracking away from being pushed and pulled. The bathroom window also couldn’t shut all the way closed and that allowed mosquitoes into our room. It just wasn’t a pleasant stay at all. It felt like I was trying to sleep by a pool in Vegas with all the music. I would not recommend. It also was not the building that the pictures show that I booked. Very misleading. The staff were very nice.

It took and hour to check in!! Couldn’t find my reservation then I had to pay the hotel even though I paid through the app and I had a receipt that said paid. All that was due at the hotel was$8 for a hotel fee. Thankfully the restaurant still sat me because it got there 20 mins before it closed at 9:40 cause of the check in. The next morning I had a flat tire with a note on my car saying I was parked in a private spot. The signage was not clear (only a standard towing sign that is on every building) and at 10PM I didn’t realize I parked next door to my hotel.

We arrived at 8:15 PM and had to buzz for assistance. After waiting over 20 minutes for someone to arrive, we were checked in and had to talk two blocks from the check-in location to our room. Upon opening our door, I realized people were already checked into our room, seeing their luggage spread throughout the room. It only took a moment for me to realize there were guests in the bathroom. I returned to the check-in location and spent another 15 minutes waiting for the host to figure out how she booked me into a room they had already shared with other guests. She was very accommodating and "upgraded" us into a suite on another property they owned. The suite was okay with two queen beds and a kitchenette area but after showering, we realized that the bottoms of our feet were dirtier for walking on the floors barefoot than they were before showering. Overall - this property is NOT what it looks like online. I would've spent twice as much elsewhere than trying to save a few bucks by booking this location if I knew what I was going to get. This place will be recommended as the first place to stay away from when traveling to Ft. Lauderdale in the future for any friends or family who ask.

It was the worst hotel I ever stayed in. dirty, water leaking and smelled like mold. I never complain but I would never stay there again.

I liked this location due to its proximity to the beach and the reasonable price paid. All the staff I interacted with were very nice and accommodating. The facility itself was older but charming, and the room itself was perfectly adequate. The negatives were few but they were extreme. On arrival, I went to the correct check-in facility, but no one was there. The phone number on the door didn’t reach anyone, so I called the number provided online. The person who answered assured me she’d send someone over, but no one ever came. I decided to go to the property to see if someone was there, but no one was. Returning to the check-in site, after waiting a while, I called again, and no one answered. After waiting a few more minutes, I called again, and a different person answered and told me he’d send someone over. This time, after more waiting, someone did come. He was perfectly friendly. However, I’d been waiting outside on a hot summer day for well over an hour. The second MAJOR negative was a party that happened on Saturday night. I returned to the hotel around 11 PM, and there was loud music and loud talking happening outside on the balcony overlooking the pool. I brushed it off and tried to fall asleep. At three AM, it was still going, so I called the hotel to ask that they look into it. They said they’d “Send someone over” to deal with it, but that didn’t seem to happen because the party continued until around five AM. The whole thing was unreal.

The check in information is supposed to be in your email confirmation, but we understand how that could be confusing and we will try to better the process. Sink and shower did not drain properlly. They charge $10 dollars for parking on their property. There were red stains on one of the walls. The A/C was not efficient for that room and was very noisy.

Hello, David! So sorry to hear about the drainage issue in your room. This will be looked at ASAP as you have now brought it to our attention. Parking is $10 per day additional, as we do not include the fee in our nightly pricing like some other hotels do. As for the AC, unfortunately at times when its very humid and hot in these summer months, they do tend to work a bit overtime. We will look at the noise issue, regardless however. Small room, but had a bed, shower, small fridge and microwave. We were there for a festival, so just needed a bed to crash in and a shower to clean up. Would stay here again. A little over a mile from festival, but we walked it everyday

In town for a festival
The room was ok. There was water damage in the bathroom and the shower got water all over the floor even with the shower curtain. We were able to check in a bit early and we're excited about that since we were going to Tortuga festival. We were given key cards to our room and when we got there we noticed that it was a code door. I called to get the code and we had to wait 40 mins for someone to come. We missed one of our favorite performers and were not offered anything for our trouble. It's an ok hotel and location.

The check in is not located at this property, was a bit annoying to have to track it down and walk a couple blocks over to. They send you a greeeting text before you arrive, would be great if that included a heads up to where the check in office is located so you're not walking around confused looking for it. The other guests at this hotel were AWFUL. Loud and drunk yelling obscenities way past 3am. The hotel is not presemt on site from what I could tell and nothing was done about the noise till the partiers finally passed out themselves. Don't plan to sleep if you stay here.

We check in to our room and we discover our tv is broken and the guests before left a bunch of food in the cabinets- which means the hotel did not properly clean out our room before we checked in. The only nice thing about this hotel, was the maintenance man, who fixed our tv.

Please make sure to read fine print. If you drive to the site, you will not be able to check in. That is done at at remote site. Rooms are very outdated but they’re clean and I good condition. Having said all this, you get what you pay for in this market!

Problem after Problem
The chekin was a headeach, the staff seems arrongant, the boy who checked us in did not gave us a code for the door, only the magnetic card. When we came back around 2 am the 1st of January we could no get into our room. THANK GOD someone answered the “building speaker” after complaining about the situation he finally came pissed to try to open it. He ended up leaving pissed again because he could not do it and had to go get a key. We waited outside in the middle of the night, vulnerable for about an hour total for this situation to get cleared. After mentioning him that this was inexcusable and that a follow up for compensation will be done in the morning he told us we could just leave now if we weren’t satisfied. Who could be?? What type of service is this???? The room STINKED OF CIGARETTE!! Our clothes and hair smelled. We had trouble breathing when in the room for more than a few minutes. Like someone had been smoking non stop for the past years in there. The safe did not work nor the hai dryer. It was horrible. The staff was very difficult to contact about this situation. A few other clients we met complained about this as well. Very annoying and unprofessional.

This was the worst stay we have ever had at any hotel… no shower curtain and no towels for the entire stay despite contacting the Manager every day and being told they would bring them. Black mould in the bathroom everywhere… health hazard and disgusting… never stay at the Tara hotel… it’s terrible….

The property did not have attendants and the rooms packed the basics a hotel usually provides you. We only stayed a weekend, so the first day, there were no soaps or hygiene items. There was not a service attendant, so we called the number on their door and they provided items the next day. On that next day, they brought the soaps after 3pm when we had to chase one of the cleaning ladies for room service but when we returned to the room around 5pm, she had taken all of the different towels(hand towels, wash clothes, feet towel for shower area), and didn't replace them. They left just two very thin towels. No hand towels ..that night around 7pm, the wifi went out and they didn't repair it until the following day. We asked for towels for the pool. They only gave us one. They said they were washing the rest. The cleaning ladies weren't attentive as in other hotels. One of them was on her cellphone, and didn't put it down as you disturbed her, requesting basic amenities. The other attendant, we.found laying over one of the sofas, relaxing, chewing gum with exaggeration. Annoyed by our request for Beach towels or room service.

Made my reservation a good bit out only to be told that they were over booked and I got pushed to another hotel within their brand. Horribly outdated with extremely minimal amenities. When we checked in we were told that they had to replace the batteries in the fire alarm. We came back around 11 to see that nothing had been changed and the alarm continuing itself chirp. The poor people next to us had to deal with that crazy noise for how long?? Waited over 45 minutes for someone to finally come and put a new battery in. Towels were so old they were basically see through. The air conditioner was pulled away from the wall with a 1inch gap pulling the humidity in. Whenever we returned to our room, the sheets and floor were actually damp. The bathroom light only worked when you hit the switch 15 times. The water coming from the sink spiket was brown. Had to use bottled water just to brush our teeth. Oldest, cheapest, thinnest mattress possible. The rooms are separated by 2 thin doors that had a gap at the bottom of the doors so we got to hear and smell the pot heads next to us the whole trip. If this list looks long and endless, it’s because it is! There is also no true front desk. Only a call center line that someone only randomly picks up when they feel like it. I am sure I am missing things. Overall, horrible experience. Stay away!

Rebooked to a nasty location without my permission
When I arrived to the location no one was on site to check me in. Then i got a notification that i had been rebooked to a different hotel. I pulled up and it was so dirty and disgusting on the outside, i didn't feel safe getting out of my car as many homeless people and people on drugs were all around. I never even went inside. Please refund my money.
