For the sake of others reading your review, Lovers Key Resort in located on Black Island on the Estero Bay at the southern end of Estero Island (Fort Myers Beach). It's 1 mile from Lovers Key State Park and Lovers Key Beach (A highly recognized Travel Channel beach), just minutes from Fort Myers Beach public accesses and It's also only approx 3 miles from the desirable Bonita Beach. While the resort may seem remote, it's location is highly desirable for most and yet also within a few miles of other resuarants, shopping, marinas & conveniences in Bonita Springs and/or Fort Myers Beach. We hope to host you again in the future.

It was our pleasure to host you and welcome you again in the future. We appreciate your feedback about the building and area since the hurricane. Respectfully, and for the sake of others who may read your review, there is a disclaimer in the property description regarding the ongoing renovations at the resort and Fort Myers Beach for the sake of the resort reopening October 1st. The road construction at the front of the resort is not related to the hurricane but rather the new bridge that has been planned for the last several years. We regret you couldn’t access the little section of the lover’s key beach across the road from the resort, but the lovers key state park beaches are open just up the road from the resort, all of Fort Myers beach is open, as well as Bonita Beach which is 3 miles up the road from the resort. We're happy to hear you enjoyed Flippers Restaurant as it is a local favorite! Please be advised the owner has invested in a linen service with the housekeeping company and fresh linens & towels are brought from Naples at every cleaning turn and new check-in. While we've never heard from any guest recommending new linens, we appreciate you at least making us aware after your checkout and we'll certainly bring this to the attention of the housekeeping company so they can make sure the linens & towel service remains a high quality service and product. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!

Hello Paul - out of 56 stays, you're the only guest to leave such feedback on this remarkable property. A/C instructions were sent prior to your arrival in the information emailed; all guests receive it. Residential A/S units in our climate don't operate the same way they do in cooler climates. You cannot run the A/C at 66-70 degrees, leave the doors open and expect it to function properly in 90+ degree weather. It's not specific to this unit; it's our area in general and we have multiple A/C vendors who all advise the same. The patio door shuts securely, the lock is broken has not yet been able to be replaced and as you mentioned, 5 stories up (which is actually 7 because there is a ground floor & lobby level before the condo floors begin) and facing the water, no one can possible enter. Housekeeping does dust the vent covers as needed & able, we told them of your feedback they've dusted them since. As for the speaker, from what we know it is part of the old intercom system in the property and is no longer functional. If you heard anything you could have gone to the front desk or contacted us during your stay. The owner's poured their hear & time into making this condo an unforgettable experience for their guests. We hope you find what you're looking for when you plan your next getaway!
