Thanks for the review. I'm sorry that i have to even use cameras. But despite all the signs on the property not to smoke as well as in the title/detailed description in my posting, people continue to smoke on my property. You even ensured me that you understood the rules and would follow them. In fact, it was an outside camera that caught one member of your group smoking. I am not using the inside cameras to watch people. i'm using the inside camera to avoid people from tamering with the cameras which has already happened: one group has already disabled the cameras during their stay. If people would follow the house rules, i would not need cameras. But in the short 6 months that cameras have been up, at least 1/3 of the groups have broken house rules. :(

Marilyn, I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. As i stated in my posting and my welcome letter, I am a single mother who purchased this 3000+ sf 100 year old home 9 months ago and have worked as hard and as quickly as possible "to get it running." i have requested guests to be understanding of ongoing improvements. The house has needed a lot to update it to modern day standards while still keeping the character of the house. Your concerns have/are being addressed. Cellular shades are being installed on the west side of the house, the loose phone jack has been cut, smoke alarms are in every bedroom and kitchen, designated phone charging stations will be available on every floor, and mouse traps are set throughout the house. As far as the basement, that is the current project, not at all finished. We have been working on the basement for several months, but it should be pretty close to done by the end of the month. As far as the cleaning fee, the standard charge is $150. When you booked the house for 2 people, I reduced the fee. But when I found out that there were actually 9 people staying, I had to increase the cleaning fee back to the standard charge. As far as the security deposit....normally, VRBO automatically refunds the security deposit after a designated number of days. But what i have learned is when you change the reservation several times as we did for you, it is not automatic. In the future, in those cases, I now know I must manually refund. By the way, we have more bookings/reviews from Airbnb guests. We have 19 reviews averaging 4.8.
