Dear Danish, I am very sorry our luxurious retreat did not meet your expectations. In regards to dinner, we offer a three course menu with 4 options for starters, mains and deserts which we believe to be an adequate sized menu given our remote location and size of our retreat. We do not advertise a cooked breakfast, and instead provide photos on our website of our gourmet continental breakfast spread on our website and third booking sites which our guests find proper enough to be filing and delicious. Our staff work hard to look after all guests staying with us and indeed some are training and therefore there is always room for improvement, however, there is always a duty manager on shift available for you to talk to about any concerns you may have. In line with our clear cancellation policy and with just 43 minutes’ notice before check-in time, it is unheard of in hospitality to receive any sort of refund. We are very sorry to hear you were disturbed by the guests having breakfast. Your room is most certainly a garden room with doors opening directly onto the seafront gardens. We have indicated to you at check-in following your questions that you can only smoke outside your room in the garden. Instead, you have opted to smoke inside, completely against the rules which perhaps might explain why you have not noticed the garden! We also regret that you were uncomfortable in your bed which has an Artisan Bespoke mattress by luxury brand John Ryan that is marked as "Medium" firmness on the manufacturer's catalogue. We would advise you and all other travellers to inform us during their stay if they experience anything out of place or feel uncomfortable, your suggestion that you have slept on the floor is shocking, to say the least. Christine, you have left a despicable review and on behalf of all of us here we cannot understand how you could have had such a miserable time here booked to stay in such a wonderful room and having us all look after you. You had trouble finding us as you haven't consulted the map and directions on the website before arrival and the postcodes in rural Scotland are very vague, we do have a sign on the main road pointing towards Ardrhu and we are also listed with all the major search engines and navigation apps. Apart from this we don't know how we could have helped you. To say that the house was not renovated well or that the furniture was mismatched shows a great deal of ignorance in regard to the value of genuine antiques and decorations that form part of our two-centuries old house. This baronnial manor was painstakingly renovated and brought back to its glory only 2 years ago using the finest materials, italian marble and crystal, wood and custom woven tartans. We genuinely hope your review and our reply will keep away future guests that are similarly lacking appreciation for this beautiful house and the luxurious interiors that we invite our guests in.
