Nestled in a lush green setting in the heart of Fouras, it offers a peaceful retreat for families, friends or couples looking to spend quality time together. Every detail has been carefully considered to provide comfort, tranquillity and a true opportunity to unwind in Fouras.

Lovingly restored over more than eighteen months, this home was brought back to life with a simple ambition: to preserve the soul of a traditional Charente farmhouse while providing all the comforts of today.

Original stonework, centuries-old wooden beams, beautiful natural materials and carefully chosen interiors… every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm and welcoming place where you can slow down, share special moments and fully enjoy the gentle pace of life in Fouras.

🏡 The accommodation

You will have your own private entrance leading into a bright, comfortable and welcoming living room, opening directly onto a 25 m² private terrace. Furnished and completely private, it is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, read a book or make the most of long summer evenings.

The fully equipped kitchen retains two distinctive features of the original house: its original stone fireplace (no longer in use) and an authentic grape press, a discreet reminder of the Clos des Rosiers' winemaking past.

Upstairs, the landing leads to a separate toilet, an independent shower room combining travertine, zellige tiles and polished concrete, all nestled beneath a centuries-old wooden beam, as well as two bedrooms:

The master suite

After gently lowering your head to pass beneath the same traditional roof truss, you will discover the master suite of Le Clos des Rosiers.

Designed as a true cocoon, it features a king-size bed (180 × 200 cm), a sofa / occasional sleeping bed (90 × 190 cm), air conditioning, a smart TV, a wardrobe, and an open-plan bathroom with a shower, toilet and bespoke double vanity unit.

The combination of reclaimed wood, oak from the property, travertine, handcrafted zellige tiles and contemporary lines creates a soft, warm and restful atmosphere.

The second bedroom

A cosy bedroom where the traditional Charente timber framework is once again showcased.

It features two 80 × 200 cm single beds, which can be joined together to create a 160 × 200 cm double bed if required.

🌳 The outdoors

Enjoy your private, secluded terrace for meals, breakfast or relaxed summer evenings.

You will also have exclusive access to a dedicated area within our centuries-old oak woodland. A true haven of nature and cool shade, it is an invitation to slow down, enjoy a picnic beneath the trees or simply relax to the sound of birdsong.

🌊 Fouras

Less than a five-minute walk away, you can reach the beaches, market, shops, restaurants and seafront, offering a unique panorama over Île Madame, Île d'Aix, Île d'Oléron and Fort Boyard.

With its ocean, heritage and relaxed way of life, Fouras is an authentic peninsula where everything can be explored on foot or by bicycle.

We will be delighted to welcome you to Le Clos des Rosiers and hope you will feel just as at home here as we did while lovingly restoring this beautiful property steeped in history.

Access for guests

You will enjoy complete independence within your accommodation and its private outdoor spaces.

Le Clos des Rosiers occupies a separate wing of our traditional farmhouse. We live in the other part of the property, allowing us to be available whenever needed while ensuring that your privacy is fully respected.

Other things to note

Le Clos des Rosiers is an authentic traditional Charente farmhouse, carefully restored with respect for its original architecture.

To preserve its character and charm, the centuries-old wooden beams have been retained. They are an integral part of the home's identity and mean that you will need to lower your head slightly in a few areas upstairs.

The staircase, typical of older houses, is relatively steep. We therefore recommend taking particular care with young children and guests with reduced mobility.

The property is strictly non-smoking. Smoking is also strictly prohibited in the oak woodland, as is lighting barbecues there.
