Heron House op Westcott Bay - Waterfront wonen in de buurt van Roche Harbor

Welkom in de pittoreske baai van Westcott, een rustig toevluchtsoord, op 5 minuten lopen van het Roche Harbor Resort, winkels en alle jachthavenfaciliteiten. Heron House is een hondvriendelijke vakantiewoning, nieuw gebouwd in oktober 2017 ... 3 minuten lopen naar het hondenpark van Roche Harbor. Vlieg in, boot in of rijd naar binnen, je bent nooit meer dan 5 minuten lopen naar het Heron House.

Wat te doen op Westcott Bay? Welnu, je zou 50 voet buiten je achterdeur naar het strand kunnen lopen, of op alle behalve de hoogste getijden wandelen naar Picnic Island. Gebruik de twee viskajaks om rond de baai te peddelen, een lijn te slepen of een krabval te zetten. In het weekend, peddel naar de Westcott Bay Shellfish-boerderij voor hun beroemde gebarbecued oesters. Misschien wilt u de nationaal erkende paden wandelen (http: // sanjuanislandtrails. Org / trailsw / roche-harbor-paden) ... allemaal zonder in uw auto te hoeven stappen! Als het een wandeling is die je in gedachten hebt, loop dan de 3 mijl-lus langs de beeldentuin (voor honden), door Roche Harbor Resort zelf, stop even bij Westcott Bay Cider voor een proeverij, vang een zeldzame Pokémon bij de vuurtorenpost tegenover de oude steengroeve van 9, en ... je bent weer thuis.

Als je moet rijden, ga dan naar Lime Kiln Point voor wat orka-kijken, getijdenpoolen of een picknicklunch. Je kunt 9 mijl naar de grote stad Friday Harbor rijden voor alle voorzieningen van een kleine stad.

Roche Harbor Resort biedt de mogelijkheid om een walvisspottocht te boeken, deel te nemen aan een kajaktocht rond het noordelijke uiteinde van Henry Island, of, als je geluk hebt ... een bruiloft plannen 

The Heron House is vernoemd naar de grote blauwe reigers die dagelijks het ondiepe water of baars op Picnic Island besluipen. Neem je camera mee voor een aantal close-ups van hen of de zeearenden die vissen in Westcott Bay.

Wonderful House

8 of us stayed for 4 nights and had a comfortable, wonderful time. I have been coming to Roche since the late 90’s and will definitely try to stay here again. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and beautiful, and we loved the location. My kids especially enjoyed the kayaks!

Girls trip

We loved our stay at this property. It was in a convenient location to all the attractions we visited. We had a rental car, but we did see the shuttle often so you could use that to get around. The house was comfortable and clean. The views were absolutely amazing and the neighborhood was quiet. I would highly recommend this house to anyone!

Idyllic location room for eight comfortably

We stayed at this beautiful property for a week to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. Some friends came in on their sailboat and mowed out front and stayed on their boat overnight, but joined us during the day and it was a beautiful calm bay. we did some clamming Yum Yum. Each bedroom had its own bathroom but awkwardly there was no powder room off the living room? The view is beautiful, but if the trees grow up that are volunteering right off the deck to their mature size there will be very little view in the not so distant future. The owners were wonderful and communicative! I would definitely stay there again.

Exeptional location and property

My friends and I gathered for a reunion in April. We got really lucky with the weather, and took full advantage of the opportunities for kayaking, ping pong, walking, cooking, eating, etc. We've enjoyed a variety of rental homes over the years, but this location is a little more fabulous in every way. Highly recommended!

Great property with beach access, ample space for families with kids and a very well stocked kitchen for meal prep. The one upgrade that should be made for the price and quality of the house is improved bedding - some bedding was dirty and all the sheets and pillows need to be replaced. I would bring my own bedding next time.

Rejuvenating and perfect for families

Heron house is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We had 3 generations staying together, plus a dog and it met everyone's needs. The table tennis was great for the teens, and the deck was perfect for soaking up some sun, reading a book and bird watching. The house was very clean and incredibly comfortable, offering a balance of adventure and relaxation. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful, tranquil location

The house is just about perfect. If I had to give any criticism it would be that some of the bedrooms don't provide a blackout capability, so you basically wake up with the sun, but it doesn't stream in through those windows. We were able to launch the host's paddleboard and kayaks right from the house.

Beautiful house. There was actually three kayaks and we were able to go out on the bay three times, saw seals, jellyfish, comb jellies, fish, and lots of waterfowl. House also close walk to Roche Harbor and other trails. Rooms were great. Everything clean. Easy to reach hosts

Prime Location Near Roche Harbor

This property has a lot to offer, especially for families or groups. We really enjoyed the large front yard and amazing waterfront backyard with its own small inlet. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood but is walking distance to Roche and the Sculpture Park. We also really enjoyed that this home is dog friendly and close to the dog park. The only real drawback to this house was the living room furniture- it was very uncomfortable. The couch and the dining table chairs especially.

3rd Time at the Heron House

This is the third time we’ve stayed at the Heron House, and there’s multiple reasons for that:-The house is still clean and beautiful -The location is still awesome-Communication with the hosts is still fantastic-The neighborhood is still quietIt’s honestly a huge part of why we come back to San Juan Island. We refer to the Heron House as “our house” because it feels like home every time we check in. I can’t imagine staying somewhere else!

January family get away

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay for a week. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms well appointed. The kitchen counters are higher than standard, so tall people rejoice, but petite people may struggle to reach the upper cupboards. We loved touring the nearby sculpture garden as well as the historic sites and state and local parks.

Beautiful home, well appointed, amazing location with killer views! All bedrooms & baths were nicely decorated & home absolutely clean! The only comment I have would be to purchase new bed pillows. The ones there were flat & the duvet pillows lumpy. Overall a spectacular property! . lump

Great getaway

The Roche Harbor Waterfront Home was everything and more. With the large space and beautiful views from every room, we couldn't ask for a better place for an early fall vacation. The recreational equipment that was provided by the owners had our kids playing for hours and the short walk to Roche Harbor meant many walks for a bowl of ice cream. Great that we could enjoy all of this with our dog as well. This was our second visit to the home, and definitely won't be our last.

As good as advertised

Property and amenities were all top notch. Owner was prompt with communications. We enjoyed quiet days viewing Westcott Bay and its wildlife, and taking drives and short hikes near Roche Harbor and all over the island. We are a group of five active seniors. The large "great room" provided space for a variety of activities and shared meals. Four bedrooms with three baths gave lots of private space as well. We didn't use the kayaks and bicycles, but those are nice options to have.

Great House, great location

This house is perfect for families. It is spacious, well kept and the kayaks, bikes and ping pong were great amenities. The location is perfect - walking distance to Roche, which made it easy for us to do things separately as well as together without getting in the car. The car charger, albeit slow, was a great surprise. I never needed to use gas on the island in my hybrid. All in all a great stay!!
