  • Ga weg van het allemaal in deze weelderig ingerichte, prachtige 4-kamer woning met een spectaculair water en territoriale uitzicht. Zo stil alles wat je kunt horen is de slis van de vleugels van vogels.
    Samadhi House is neergestreken boven op Mt. Dallas, het hoogste punt op San Juan Island in de staat Washington. Het biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op de Straat van Haro (scheidt de VS uit Canada), de Canadese Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, en beboste bergen. Omringd door de heerlijkheden van NW natuur, kun je niet zien een enkel huis. Maar je zult kijken als cruiseschepen stilletjes richting Alaska en adelaars en haviken zweven overhead. U kunt zelfs ter plaatse af en toe een walvis overtreden in de Straat. 'S nachts, zult u de verre lichten van Victoria en Sydney BC zien Het perfecte privéverblijf! Bovendien zult u genieten van kunst verzameld over de hele wereld.

We traveled with our family to San Juan Island as part of an anniversary celebration. The Samadhi House more than met our expectations. Our group included six adults and our six grandchildren. We were pleased that we could comfortably sleep 12. We had room to gather and the rooms were and well apportioned. The views in the gathering spaces and from the deck were phenomenal. We were also pleased with the cleanliness and the excellent communication with Ajayan. Our time at the Samadhi house was a real blessing for our family.

Amazing views!

My group had a wonderful time at this house. The views from the house and porches were incredible, especially at sunset, and the home's location close to Lime Kiln Point State Park on the west side of the island was a treat!

Beautiful property perched high on a hill with great views of the water and Victoria, BC. I think the views were honestly our favorite part! The house was clean and everything worked.

Spectacular

The house is in a spectacular location and the views from the house and from the gazebo are absolutely stunning. There is everything that one needs to enjoy a great quiet stay on San Juan. We have also enjoyed dinners at Downriggers, Harbor Crab's house and please visit the Duck Soup restaurant. Of course, the duck is superb. Overall a great place to stay on San Juan Island.

Awesome sunsets!

Property was peaceful, quiet and secluded with the most incredible views of Vancouver Island. We enjoyed the island visiting Lime Kiln Point State Park, Cattle point Lighthouse and Friday Harbor. Very nice home for a family retreat. Thanks to Ajayan for being helpful and available for any questions that we had.

Wonderful, isolated getaway perched high on the mountain.

Ajayan (host) communicated well and provided a lovely mountain cottage high on Dallas mountain with a beautiful view of the water and distant islands and mountains. It was a very meditative experience!!

Marvelous San Juan House – Transcendent Experience

This marvelous place on San Juan Island was exactly as advertised. The home itself is gorgeous. It has wonderful amenities, beautiful light, and it makes the absolute most of the incredible view it has of the rest of the island and the Haro Strait. The host is also fantastic – friendly, proactive, and easy to communicate with. Can't really ask for more.

Peace & Tranquility

If you seek peace & tranquility this is the rental for you. 4 bedrooms, 8 beds and sleeping for 12 assuming some are couples who sleep together. Perfect for larger groups that want a quiet, remote, rental with spectacular views. San Juan Island not that large so this location works wherever your island adventure takes you. I do not recommend driving to this location in the dark.

Wonderful two week family reunion

Ajayan and his daughter Sudha were wonderful hosts during our stay, and it was reassuring that they live nearby. Our communication was instant, and they were ready to attend to any question or need without hesitation. Views are spectacular, and the floorplan was perfect for our various families. We did most of our own cooking and the kitchen and dining areas were big enough for our clan. The wrap around deck provided play areas for the little ones, and evening guitar and sing-a-longs for the group. We would love to make another trip to San Juan, and will be happy to stay here again!

Check in was easy with detailed instructions. ( appreciated that). We had 11 adults 55 to 65 plus 1 83yr old. The kitchen and dining was fantastic. All of our cooking needs was accommodated. It was a delight that not only did the home sleep 11 it was accommodating for serving 11 with proper dining for 11 plus. The home is very clean, very accommodating and represents its self well. Impressive water preassure along with no lack of hot water. Yay!!! The wraparound deck with veiw, stunning. We had our share of front seat wildlife that never gets old. A memorable weekend with my 4 siblings their spouses and our mother. Our host was delightful and welcoming. We look forward to our next visit to this lovely home and all it has to offer.

A mini-retreat at Samadhi

We had an absolutely wonderful time! What a fantastic place you have built! With the wonderful view and the construction that takes advantage of that view, coupled with the inspiring art at every turn, it was like being at a mini-retreat! My wife and I loved your libraries, and took pics of the shelves to follow up.I think you have coolest office space in the state. What a view!We liked the Sauna so much my wife is interested in picking up a model from that manufacturer. What a relaxing way to unwind.It was also fun using the telescope. Another way to ponder the universe, a big theme at Samadhi!All of the above led to an adventure we'll never forget. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home.Bill & Sara

Best Birthday Ever

I had a wonderful time. The weather cooperated. Had wonderful sunsets. Could of used a bigger kitchen and more space to put kitchen supplies,groceries not needing refrigeration. Got into watching Virgin River at night. Went kayacking, whale watching... saw 27 whales and about 20 sea lions,hiked, saw the lavender farm and store, went to American Camp and British camp, the winery, and saw many Eagles. Remote spot with beautiful views

The property was lovely. Very spiritual. It was very remote, and as other reviews have suggested, I highly recommend arriving when there's still some daylight if possible. (We arrived at night and it was fine.) Also, make sure to follow the directions to the house provided by the owners; Google Maps stops short of getting you to the destination. That said, it is a beautiful spot. The house was very well-stocked with spices, tea, coffee, dish detergent, etc. My one suggestion to be aware of is that the amount of space is a little misleading. Two of the rooms are quite small, with little space to unpack, so some of us "lived out of our suitcases" for the four days we were there. The other two rooms are quite large. We had not read all the reviews, so we were a little surprised to find a yurt quite close to the house, but to be fair, the owner's daughter, who was presumably staying in it in the evenings, was very respectful of our privacy. The owner, Ajayan, was very responsive and easy to reach if necessary. All in all, it is a beautiful spot, particularly if you want to be remote and in a gorgeous setting.

The VRBO web pics are not up to date. Very Disappointing House for such Beautiful Views.

We arrived and before we carried in our things, we had to sweep the floors, wipe down the countertops, the table & seats of the table chairs. Three of our guests had hairs on their sheets, and one guests sheets looked very dirty....to the point that HE slept in his clothes to avoid contact with the bedding. There was also no coffee pot, and there were dirty socks on the porch. You cannot unpack due to full drawers & either full or locked closets. When you pay that kind of money for a home, you at least expect it to be clean. We reached out to the home owner about the house being dirty & he was unable to get anyone there to clean. The ONLY accurate thing about this home are the beautiful views, they are probably some of the best on the island, I will give them that. The photos on VRBO's booking website are not current photos of the home. The home is decorated in a VERY personal way. There are many many artifacts throughout the home from the owners travels, and some of them are very sexual in nature, and very inappropriate for a family of any ages. If the current photos of the home had been on the booking website, we would of never booked this home just on that basis. The bunk room can't be accessed from the main part of the house, it is accessible only by going out the back door & down the stairs of the deck & then it is located underneath the house. We had to put our 19&21 year old daughter out there, and then if you want them to be able to get back in the house during the night you can't lock the doors, so the security of the home is lacking. There is one of the bedrooms that has a wall of books, and there are alot of them that are VERY sexual in nature, so moving our girls to that room was inappropriate. We had been planning our vacation for months and just wanted to enjoy our trip to the San Juan islands with our family. We had to move to another house to be able to do this as we did not even feel comfortable cooking in this house. This was at our own expense, and the owner was only willing to refund us one of our 7 nights. We are NOT difficult people, just expect to arrive to a clean house, have a coffee maker & especially expect to know what we are getting based on the pictures that sold the house to us. We would of NEVER booked this house if the pictures had shown even some what accurate depictions of the house. There is also construction going on at the house site as well that we weren't aware of.

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful and as described and depicted in the pictures. WiFi was robust enough for streaming and work purposes. We were late in making ferry reservations and originally had an 8 pm ferry scheduled. But were able to move it up at the last moment to the 4 pm sailing. This was good because the house is at the end of a curvy rural road and gravel lane with lots of turns and it would be very difficult to find in the dark. Entering the address in google maps will bring you close but will miss the very last turn so follow the printed directions and consult the actual google map. The owners have a lot of Asian art and decor so it might not be the best rental for families with little kids who have curious hands. If our kids had still been toddlers I would have been stressed about all the breakables in the home. The master site is huge and gorgeous but is open loft-style to the rest of the house and sound echoes with all the wood. So not great if you want to sleep while others chat or watch TV downstairs. The views are unbeatable and you can see the lights of Victoria BC at night. We will definitely return.

Amazing views, stunningly peaceful

Went with a group of six friends and had a great time. The view is pretty unbeatable, and all the amenities we could have wanted were there. We cooked together with the gas stove and the grill and played games at the eight-person dining table—perfect for our stay. The downstairs area with many (5) beds is a separate, locked entrance but connected via the deck. Would be perfect for kids or folks that don't mind the summer camp vibes of the beds crammed together. The only thing to note is if you have a heavier two-wheel-drive vehicle (e.g. a minivan) you may want to park in the upper parking area and walk down, as there is a pretty steep grade on gravel between the two sections. We initially parked a minivan in the lower area and had to back it up the hill after the first two attempts spun the wheels on the way up. This house is gorgeous, with beautiful windows and wraparound deck that the pictures don't do justice. You can stargaze at night, enjoy a misty morning in the forest, and watch the sun set over the islands in the distance at dusk. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
