Nature at its best
The description of property is right on. Very quite, large pond and of course 5 deer two geese rabbits (and a partridge in a pear tree LOL). Hot tub was great. Played with dogs in large shade area. Has three brooks that ran into pond. Inside has all you need and then some. Will stay again.

Outstanding!
This property has everything you could ask for, including spectacular views - all from the couch! The rooms are large, the furniture is nice, the kitchen is spacious and the bathrooms have plenty of space! The bedrooms are laid out perfectly, each with their own bathrooms! The pond is nice, as is the hot tub! This is one gorgeous home! The host was very responsive and informative!

Beautiful location and house
Overall the location was beautiful and so was the house. The kitchen was a good size and the deck was very nice. The driveway was a bit treacherous and rough. The single floor was very helpful The house worked well for us with one exception. We were four couples and the one bathroom was between two of the bedrooms with no door, only a curtain which made it pretty awkward. We were also surprised there was no railing on the deck especially since there was a significant drop off. Because we were all adults it wasn't a problem but we could see some potentially serious issues if children were staying here.

Hi Ronald. Thanks for your feedback. The master closet bunk room is intended to be used by one family with adults in the master bedroom and kids in the master closet bunk room. The layout of the home, including the lack of railing on the deck to preserve the view of the lake, is fully disclosed in the listing. There are many additional sleeping spaces you and your guests could have utilized without putting unrelated adults in the master closet bunk room.

Beautiful space
We met at this property for my mother’s Celebration of Life. It was lovely ❤️ the water and trails were soothing and a calm place to step away when needed. The bedroom situation is odd with all rooms other than the main suite being pass thru connections. We made it work and would have preferred doors on the bathroom as opposed to curtains 🤷‍♀️ The access road was difficult for some of our attendees but most made it. The kitchen set up was great for a gathering and well stocked with dishes and utensils. Thanks so much.

Awesome
It was a beautiful house and location. It was quiet and very relaxing. The owner provides all the accommodations you will need plus a lot of extras. We loved the fishing from her canoe and caught and released several fish every day. We will definitely return.

The house was amazing as well as the location. It was so relaxing and serene. The only negative is the AC. It was in the 90's during our stay and the house stayed around 75 except for 1 early morning we were able to get it down to 71 by opening up all the doors and windows. Other than that it was wonderful.

Secluded Mountain Lakehouse, serenity in SW Virginia
Although in town for the Galax Fiddlers Convention, we were also looking forward to riding the New River State Park Trail and to time spent just chilling. This property was perfect! In fact it exceeded our expectations. Minutes from Felts Park, minutes from several access points to the New River Trail, minutes from the Blue Ridge Music Center, and providing peace and quiet unlike anything you can imagine. Lots of space -- an incredible amount of space! A large deck overlooking a small lake was perfect for morning coffee or evening wine time. The property was immaculately clean and the kitchen was equipped with everything you could hope for when preparing meals at home. Comfy beds -- just like at home. And the stars at night! When was the last time you saw the Milky Way? Not a single complaint, not a single 'Yeah, but.' It was perfect in every way and we look forward to staying here again when in the area.

Stay with friends
My friends and I come up to Piper’s Gap for fellowship and relaxation. We are never disappointed. The property is quiet and remote. The house is spacious and modern. And the surroundings are perfect.

Perfect!
The property is beautiful and secluded. If you are looking for somewhere to get away from it all and enjoy peace and quiet, this is the place! We loved the privacy, the house was very clean and spacious. The grounds are lovely and Alex was super helpful throughout. We can't wait to go back!

Easy and relaxing Thanksgiving
Plenty of space, quiet setting and attentive hosts. When we arrived, the heat had been turned off (and it was 55 inside) but hosts sprung into action and helped us resolve the issue. Quite attentive. House is outfitted with everything you need, was clean and spacious. Highly recommended.

Relaxing!
My husband, myself and another couple (all over 65) spent the week, fished, watched the wildlife, and just relaxed. There was no car noises, just peace and quiet. The house was very clean and spacious, they had every kitchen item for cooking that we needed, and even had some fresh flowers on the counter, waiting our arrival. The host was super quick to reply to any questions we had. Overall, it was very nice.

Excellent Mobility Impaired Residence
This was an excellent property for older people or the mobility impaired. We had three people over Seventy years (of 5 persons total). The entrance ramp and individual door ramps were very helpful. The setting itself was very beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed sitting on the back porch facing the lake every chance I got: drinking coffee, taking pictures, reading or playing my dulcimer or Native American Flutes. My adult sons and I also enjoyed canoeing and playing one of the provided yard games - ladder ball toss. The location was also near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Galax, Va, and Mt. Airy, NC. The primary drawback was the rough long, driveway and the finicky gate lock. It should be noted however that this is not a true Four Bedroom listing. There are two bonus rooms: one had to be entered to enter a guest bedroom. The other could only be reached by going through two other rooms and a bathroom. This was actually spelled out in the listing but it was easy to miss. All in all it was a wonderful experience and probably the best overall rental cabin (house) we have ever stayed in.

Relaxing family vacation
If you are looking for a peaceful setting for a relaxing vacation, this is it! The property is beautiful, and even though we were there in July, the weather was wonderful. I enjoyed many afternoons sitting on the shaded deck with a nice breeze! The lake is great for going out in the provided canoe. We also brought two kayaks, and it was perfect for them as well. My husband and kids caught many fish! The house is large and has plenty of space for a family to spread out. Our teens loved having their own bedrooms with private bathrooms! We also enjoyed the pool table and played countless games of pool together! The hot tub is great for relaxing when the temperatures cool down at night. The house had everything we needed, and Alex was quick to respond to any questions that we had during our stay. We ate most of our meals at the house, but Galax is only about 15 minutes away and has a variety of restaurants to choose from. We also spent part of a day in Mt. Airy, NC (Mayberry), which is only about half an hour away. If you are fans of the Andy Griffith Show, it is definitely a fun place to visit! I would recommend this house for anyone who is looking for a quiet, relaxing setting for their next getaway!

Wonderful Birthday Getaway!
This location had everything my family loved to do, in one location. We fished, roasted marshmallows, grilled, and did not get one mosquito bite (smile)! The lake house was beautiful and I can’t wait to return !

Absolutely wonderful house
This house was just amazing. Spacious, beautiful interior, comfortable beds, wonderful view, peaceful and quiet. The kitchen was beyond well furnished, everything you could need. Easy entry with a ramp and steps. There were only two negatives. The couches in the living room were really bad and need to be replaced. Two recliners and a new couch would be great. We had to put pillows on the couches to be able to sit on them for any length of time. Also on the days it was 82 degrees out the AC would only get the house down to 74. Even with these two things I have to give this place a 5 star rating.

The Perfect Getaway
My friends from college and I live in different corners of North Carolina. I was looking to find a place where we could get together in peace and quiet, and the property on Coleman Lane was perfect. The house had all the amenities we wanted, including a good kitchen and common areas, as well as comfortable, quiet bedrooms. The lake and surrounding areas also gave us plenty of space to walk and explore. I was ecstatic about our stay at this property and will look to book this property again.

I can not say enough good things about this place. We were looking for a secluded place to get into touch with nature and that is exactly what we found. The house is amazing. We enjoyed fishing and hiking and walking the creek. We caught many fish and cray fish and sincerely just enjoyed our time. The host was very easy to get ahold of and available for any questions and or problems. Def recommend this house and we have already decided that we will be back.

Great Getaway
Host was very great with communication. Truly everything was so easy and well thought out, down to the well detailed instructions for the tv! Beautiful and secluded property, but still not so far out that going to town was an inconvenience. The host was also very accommodating as plans changed close to our trip. Friends and I rented the property for an annual event and are already discussing reserving this house for that same event in the future!
