Perfect Location!

We had our entire family of 10 here and this place was so nice. We were literally steps away from the beach. So many windows to enjoy the ocean out of and the balconies with all the chairs was such a great bonus! Can’t wait to book again ♥️

Paradise Found

The patio view to the ocean melts the day away. There’s plenty of space for the two-legged and four-legged animals. A well stocked local market nearby makes this a home away from home.

Fantastic Location

We were able to check in an hour early. The house was clean and everything in working order. We were able to walk to the beach in two minutes, not having to cross any roads, because the access footbridge was about 15 yards away. West end is quieter than in Galveston proper. There's a great little grocery store less than 2 miles away.

Spacious home with a wonderful view of the ocean in a quiet, small neighborhood of Kahala Beach. A good deal for the price. Beach access was directly across the street and a 2 minute walk to the water. We overall enjoyed our stay; the AC worked well (except in 1 bedroom that was very warm), the beds were comfortable, and showers had plenty of hot water. But, we had several issues arise during our stay. Some were handled very well (management company rep Erika delivered a new microwave (because the other one didn't work) and a set of mixing bowls that we didn't have.) But the kitchen was missing a few very basic things: working manual can opener, sauce pans (we only had huge dutch oven pots), regular size spoons, a pot holder, only 1 kitchen hand towel, no kitchen scissors. Also, the dryer did not work; we tried every setting over several days, thinking it was operator-error, but it never worked. The balcony is small, only has 4 chairs, and no room for a table, so it was hard for all 7 of us to hang out there. This nice house could be a wonderful rental with a little more attention paid to detail in having kitchen basics and routine maintenance.

Disgusting

The only good thing was the view . The house was so dirty . Dead bugs , spider webs everywhere. Base boards were disgusting . The bathroom on the first floor has mold all in the corners of the shower .The washer was dirty , smelled and had black stuff all inside it . Light fixtures didn’t work properly. The fridge wasn’t working the first night we were here . Couldn’t get the bedroom TVs to work . Kitchen needs more towels and dish clothes and pot holders would have been great . The best part was we couldn’t access the whole top balcony because the roof is falling down. This was my first experience renting a vacation home and it was an awful experience. Get better cleaning people that will actually do a deep clean in this house . If you want a clean house for your family , DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE

Cleaning crewing needed to be called right away because there were a lot of dead love bugs all along the windows seals upstairs and downstairs. The AC did not get cold downstairs so they directed us to use standing fans they had there for better air circulation. The living room tv didn’t work properly and couldn’t get an Apps working to watch Netflix, prime, YouTube, Etc. The location of the beach house was nice, and being so close to the beach was a plus. Plenty of space for our family to stay comfortably.

Positief: Inchecken, locatie
Negatief: Netheid, communicatie en accuraatheid advertentie
This house was a huge disappointment. The only good thing about the trip was the location. Carpet in bedrooms are badly stained. Jacuzzi did not work. AC would not cool and when cold front came in, the heat would not come on. Had fireplace but no key to gas. Walls are in need of repair and paint. Kitchen sink faucet had to be in specific spot so would not leak. Freezer would not seal properly. I can go on and on but to cut it short, it is definately not worth the money they are charging. Pictures are misleading on condition of house.

4/10 – Slecht

Positief: Netheid, inchecken en locatie
Negatief: Accuraatheid advertentie
The photos in the listing are old, as the property isn't as pristine as is advertised. The location is great and house layout was good for six adults and four children. However, the house has numerous maintenance problems, most importantly, a section of roofing above a patio which is about to fall onto the patio area. This would never pass any kind of safety inspection. We also had a visit from the local police on our last evening, asking if we were VRBO customers because the owner doesn't have a short-term rental license from the city. It wasn't a problem for us, but is indicative of the professionalism of the rental. Also, one of the bedrooms had very little AC and never really cooled down. The listing says that we could park in the garage, but it was locked and not accessible. Also, the showerhead on the outdoor shower was completely plugged and unusable until after we cleaned it out.To summarize, the house shouldn't be re-rented until it's properly repaired and acquires the required license.

Memorial Weekend Stay

The beach house had a great, open layout in a good location within a quiet, well-kept neighborhood. We loved the furnished balconies and hose access next to the driveway for easier cleanup after heading back in from the nearly private beach, even during the holiday weekend! Upon arrival, we had to go out to get some extra coffee mugs and chairs to take out to the beach, and wine glasses weren’t stocked. If the third room behind the kitchen could have a better cooling solution, that would have really helped our group. We visited during thunderstorms, and the dining room window leaked. Also, we lost water for a few hours, but the rental agency helped after we called.

Views

The property had some major issues. The price should have been lower. The room with restroom with shower and bunk beds needs makeover in restroom. Everything outdated, shower door broken and lighting not working properly. The living room couch bed didn’t work. The fridge drawers were broken and fridge rusted. The dining tables chairs were dirty and filthy. The jacuzzi were broken, didn’t use, outdated! The views were beautiful. The carpet in main bedroom dirty ! That’s why I booked was the location. The property did have a lot of updates. But, It was a bunch of small fixes that needed to happen. The corner tops were dusty and soap were only in main restroom only. So, the kids loved it, and it was ok! Just wanted to be able to relax, was worried with all the discrepancies!
