Located at the very top of Ski View Drive in Panorama Point, Haus of the Rising Sun sits above Ober Gatlinburg at one of the highest residential elevations in the area. The views from both decks span Mount LeConte, Pigeon Forge, and the Gatlinburg valley. On clear mornings you can watch the sunrise paint the ridgeline while fog fills the valley below you.
This 1,400-square-foot chalet sleeps 7 across 2 bedrooms, each with a king bed and en-suite bathroom. The Green Room (first floor) is a king master suite with comfortable decor and a full en-suite bath. The Peanut Butter Room (second floor) is a flexible space with a king bed, twin sleeping nook, queen pullout sofa, and a Jacuzzi jetted tub in the en-suite. Three TVs including a Smart TV with streaming. Downstairs, the wood-burning fireplace runs October through March. An electric fireplace upstairs provides ambiance year-round. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook full meals. Step onto either deck to grill on the gas grill (propane provided) or soak in the covered hot tub while watching the lights come on across the valley. The community pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and is a short walk from the cabin.
GETTING HERE
You are at the tip-top of the mountain. The last stretch of road is steep, narrow, and winding. This is normal for upper Gatlinburg and part of what makes the elevation and privacy possible. A standard sedan handles it fine in dry conditions. In winter weather, 4WD or chains are recommended. Once you arrive, the views make the drive worth every turn.
WILDLIFE
Black bears, bobcats, deer, and wild turkeys are regular visitors to the property. Keep food and trash secured per Gatlinburg regulations. Most guests consider the wildlife a highlight.
