Our group loved our stay at The Great Dogwood Manor. There were 19 of us, and there was more than enough space for us to spread out and relax. I do think if you actually had a group of 50, it would be snug. The house was clean and stocked with lots of towels and enough toilet paper to get through the week. Host: I interacted with Ronda, and she was very friendly and very quick to respond to concerns. The hot tub wasn't working correctly, and she had a technician out there to fix it that day.Location: This is so convenient to get to all the fun of downtown Gatlinburg. We frequently walked. It is uphill from downtown, in its own little area, so you don't have non-residents wandering around. However, for some of our group, the walk back up the hill was a little much, so if you plan not to use a car at all, you need to be in good enough shape to walk a mile uphill. Also, the turn into development is sharp one, and might be tricky with a bus. Bears: We saw bears every day. They loved the front porch, so we had to make sure to pause and look out the window before leaving.Amenities: We loved the movie theater room and the on-site indoor pool. The kitchen has lots of plates and silverware, but was a little low on cookie sheets and baking dishes. The basement terrace doesn't really have a good view, but the one from the main floor looks over at Anakeesta. There is a road, so there are road sounds. The triple level bunk room was a massive hit.
