The location is very convenient for Gatwick North terminal, but signage for the drop-off at the hotel is very poor if you are not already aware of the hotel location. Our taxi driver made two circuits of the airport complex, incurring two charges, before we solved the riddle.

Hotel was being refurbished which we had not been informed about. Part of the floors were blocked off and there was a strong paint smell. Towel had a big hole in which I discovered after showering. There was building work outside throughout the night which meant it was noisy. Not worth the £155. Disappointing start to city break.

As we had an early flight from Gatwick the hotels location meant we could start our holiday a day earlier. Brilliant that we were able to have a free breakfast before we caught our flight.

We had a late flight into Gatwick North, so the location was perfect for this. It is located in the terminal so didn't have to leave the building. Big plus. Reception were very nice and very quick check in. We had a family room for 2 adults and 1 child. Thank goodness we didn't have anymore people in than that as the rooms are tiny, especially when you have your suitcases in tow! The carpet was all ripped, which made it feel really drab and not what I would expect considering how much we paid. The air con was really lame too and barely cooled the room. Again, I might expect this in a really budget hotel, but not something that carries the Hilton brand. Breakfast was fine. It was included in the price. They have express checkout so that was very convenient. All in all an average stay, but not worth the amount we paid for it

Overall hotel room is okay but not too happy to assign to floor 0 as I found bugs inside the room from time to time. Initially, I want to extend my stay but I finally moved to nearby hotel for extra nights as I don’t want to stay in floor 0. The most important is they are not providing service to keep guests’ baggage, so I need to walk round to keep them at the airport wait till check in. They should mention it on their booking page.

I am very sorry that you were unhappy with the room that you were allocated, we would have been more than happy to change you to a different floor had you advised us of your displeasure with the lower ground floor. With regards the bugs you said you found from time to time, at The Hampton by Hilton we encourage our valuable guests to address any challenges during their stay giving us the opportunity to action and reply. I can reassure you that we have pest control on a regular basis to conduct residual spray treatment for this type of issue. We have since inspected the room in which you stayed and found no evidence of any bugs or anything similar, I do hope this sets your mind to rest. Twilight check-in
Ideal for those travelling early next day. With twilight check-in just metres from hotel(North terminal). Choice of in hotel bar and restaurant but also choice of bars restaurants nearby in terminal. Early start next morning, although to early for the cooked breakfast, continental breakfast was just the ticket.
