I arrived at the hotel after a busy day of meetings at about 20.00 to be told that the restaurant was closed and there was no food. There was a cafe' 10 minutes walk' away- but as a woman travelling on my own, and after a herd day's work, I did not want to do this. After some discussions reception arranged me some 'bread, cheese and sliced meat'. This was ok for me, although not exactly what I had been hoping for. My shock was the following morning when I checked out, to be told that the price for this food was 60 Francs. It was literally 3 bits of bread, 5 slices of cheese and some sliced salami- I was outraged! In terms of my room- it was very clean, but very small, quite dated, horribly warm and smelt strongly of smoke. I told reception of this, and they said it did not smell and there was no smoking on the premises! (Blatently not true as there was an ashtray in the room!). overall a disappointing stay in what is ultimately a lovely location. I am sure that if you were able to dine in the restaurant, then this would obliterate the dated nature of the rooms (rust in the bath etc).
