'We stayed for a family get together, the space was nice but for a larger group (7) the kitchen was small. We used paper plates and plasticware to keep down on dishes but there is only one outside trash can and with a larger group including an infant trash was taken out more often and accumulated quickly. Take notethere is no yard to walk your dog, we had our small dog and walked her up the road which wasn't a problem for us. Easy check-in and out. We would stay again, we loved the decks and...

'Peaceful, friendly down-home vibe unlike any other. Homey, safe, family feel in every way. Love what the ‘new’ owners are doing to improve and honor the traditions of this very historic retreat. I came here first as a child, before the old hotel burned, and have known it through the decades. We will be back! Thank you, Sandy and partners! 💙'

'Very nice, cute cabin with everything we needed for a night! The only thing that would’ve made it more convenient would have been if our well-behaved dog would’ve been allowed, but we understand. Overall wonderful stay and this really was a cozy cabin with everything we could have needed! Very clean, nice hot tub, easy checking in/out, and good communication with host! Would definitely recommend!'

'I’ve been delayed in reviewing our stay at the Tree House because in my mind, we’re still there! Talk about relaxing, a true getaway, even though we were active from sun up to sun down. Everything about our stay was perfect. Ken was the ultimate communicator, so friendly, accommodating, and available for any questions. He and his wife, plus their children, greeted us upon arrival and during our stay and even shared her homemade bread! The area is beautiful, 84 acres that felt like it was all...

'So many things to mention…fishing and playing in the river, relaxing on the porch, roasting marshmallows by the fire, enjoying the privacy and seclusion of the property (we literally saw no other people while we were there), fully stocked kitchen, linens provided. 'This was the cutest yurt and had everything we needed from cooking ware to comfort and entertainment. Great wifi service, great location for relaxing and exploring nature activities and local shops. Not a negative thing to say. Would come again and highly recommend!'

'Great place to go for one or two to relax and enjoy. Or have the family up for a bbq. The hosts are amazing! The location is perfect for a weekend to enjoy just who your with and have fun. You can play games or relax in the hot tub!!'

'Our stay was Fabolous!!! We mistakenly checked into the downstairs property. The host was very understanding despite our mistake. The property is well maintained and cozy. My kids loved the stagger alone bathtub and the Murphy bed. This is a great quiet place to stay if you're visiting the area. It's central to everything in Mt. Airy. I would highly recommend this property. '

'My partner, and and our 17 yo daughter enjoyed a week at this cabin. The kitchen was well-appointed, the living room and front porch was very comfortable. The view and access to the New River was fabulous. Even two neighborhood dogs came by for multiple visits.'

'Wonderful place. Loved the location for motorcycle rides had an area to place bikes out of rain. There was a great fire pit. Loved cooking and just hanging out on the larger porch during the rain storm. '

'This. Place. Is. Awesome! The pictures do not do it justice. Amazing location far from civilization. Great place to go to unplug. I wish we would have had more time to spend there but we were just passing through and only stayed one night. Whether you want to do your best impersonation of Henry David Thoreau or get back to basics with the kids you cannot go wrong with this property. The owner is a really nice guy as well. '
