Outstanding remote hotel
This place is absolutely amazing!! Booked here in December 2023 for a little celebratory winter break with my wife. Upon arrival the customer service was outstanding and we was allocated our room in one of the wings which was comfy, Spacious and charming. The food both for dinner and breakfast was simply fantastic and not overly priced. We can’t wait to return for longer to have a really good explore.

Good morning Debra,We are sorry to hear you didn't have the best experience at Saltmarshe Hall.The heating was on a timer and the times have now been changed so the rooms are cooler during the night.Please can you inform us of why you felt staff were not accommodating. No tea & coffee!
Lovely hotel in beautiful setting. Some of the staff let the beautiful hotel down (surly receptionist on check out/ absent breakfast staff). Also there was no tea and coffee un the room (which would've been expected given the price). Food was good. Room service was good, although came with no condiments.

Stunning Hotel
Saltmarshe is one of the nicest hotels that I have stopped in the room was beautifully decorated the staff were very friendly and the grounds were stunning. Breakfast we had a good choice cooked breakfast was amazing. No negatives just our room was a little hot and a fan would of been nice to have in the room but it did not spoil our time and we are thinking of going back soon.

Great place, fantastic inside and out. Wonderful gardens and really friendly staff. Only negative was no aircon or fans in room when staying during hot summer nights as room was too hot to sleep in. Area around location not much going on which is perfect for a relaxing retreat or those wishing to get away from it all. Luckily we landed on a night where food was served at evening time and that experience was top notch, especially for the amazing price and qulaity !

ive stayed in family rooms that say they are suites....but this one actually was....stayed in the howdenshire suite and would class this as one of the best rooms my family and i have stayed in....beautiful large clean and luxurious!

Overnight stay.
Lovely grounds,friendly staff. Rooms very clean.It seems they are short staffed as there was no one to serve in the bar. No way to contact reception from room even though it states room service available. Had afternoon tea which was very nice. Just a personal observation, the hotel management could give the orchard apples away somehow rather than letting them rot. They were very sweet and juicy.

All staff very polite and helpful, especially Reception staff on check in. Food very good, a little expensive. Breakfast limited choice. Overall very good.

Lovely hotel and grounds
Hotel and grounds are lovely and we were given a room upgrade soon after arrival. The original room was quite small with a poor view so we were delighted with the larger room with a view over the gardens. We had afternoon tea with friends - served in the garden and very enjoyable. Service was pleasant but variable. There was only one member of staff at breakfast so service was slow. The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed our stay but overall I would say it wasn't quite as good as we expected - nothing specifically 'bad' but not amazing either!

Strongly recommended for a family break
We had a fantastic 2-day stay at Saltmarshe Hall in June 2021. The staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. The garden is absolutely beautiful and contains an outdoor pool. We ate in the hotel restaurant and had some delicious food.

The hotel is lovely. The room comfortable but so hot. No aircon or fan in the room so sash window left open although it was pouring with rain. The bar was expensive and at times we had difficulty finding staff to serve as they were busy doing other jobs too! We were disappointed that the bar was closing at 11pm when we had been told midnight. We are middle aged friends who only see each other rarely, and would liked to have been able to carry on drinking and talking after our dinner, especially as 8 of us were staying there!

The property is absolutely beautiful. The library and downstairs rooms are mist welcoming - just the right scale; big, not too big. The bedrooms are magnificent; newly refurbished and to a very high quality - but still with a 'classic' theme. The downstairs bar is a treat too! Outside there's much to explore, including the delightful 'jetty' by the Humber, and the beautifully maintained gardens. As a wedding venue it's simply superb too , especially with the brilliant team there - and the general staff couldn't be better. Oh, fantastic food as well! Dislikes? Nothing!

Christmas night away
Stayed overnight after a work party .slept in the Saltmarshe Suite . The room was beautiful and spacious . Lovely ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and double sinks. Downstairs the building is beautifully decorated and looked particularly festive .
