  • Welkom bij Ocean Trace! Wij zijn gevestigd op de prestigieuze Bank Road of Governors Harbour, de meest gewilde locatie op Eleuthera. Dit gebied heet de Golden Mile, een stuk eiland met roze zandstranden, patchriffen en geweldige restaurants en cafes. We zijn 5 minuten lopen van het bekende restaurant en de bar van het strand van Tippy en op 3 minuten rijden van het prachtige en charmante stadje Governor's Harbor. Hier vindt u supermarkten, restaurants, cafés, drankwinkels en benzinestations, samen met vele mooie Historische woningen.

    Ocean Trace is een korte wandeling van 150 meter langs ons deeded pad naar een ideaal strand met helder blauw water en zacht roze zand. Als u het strand wilt lopen, kunt u naar het restaurant van Tippy gaan om te eten of verder te gaan naar Club Med Beach of Culmer's Rocks.

    Het huis is omringd door natuurlijke tropische vegetatie die een rustige, privé-omgeving creëert. Ocean Trace beschikt over ruime omsloten veranda's, zowel bedekt en onbedekt, om te lezen, te ontspannen, te zonnebaden en te genieten van de verfrissende eilandbriesjes.

    Het huis is een verhaal met 9 meter plafonds. Het is nieuw gebouwd in 2012 en heeft een smaakvolle kust-inrichting. De centrale woonruimte is ideaal om te ontspannen en te vermaken. Het heeft een open concept met 2 comfortabele banken die een grote tv met kabel en wifi in de familiekamer omringen. Er zijn boeken, games, puzzels en films. De woonkamer stroomt in de eethoek, die een tafel heeft die 8 kan plaatsen. De moderne keuken is uitgerust met roestvrijstalen apparaten en kijkt uit over de woonkamer.

    De master bedroom suite heeft een elegant plafond van cipressenplanken en bevat een kingsize bed. Er is ook een tv met kabel. De master heeft een grote en-suite badkamer met walk-in betegelde douche, tuinbad en dubbele wastafels. De voorste gastenverblijf heeft een queensize bed en een eigen badkamer met bad en douche. De achterste slaapkamer heeft twee sets stapelbedden. De gastenkamers hebben beide schuifdeuren naar de veranda.

    Het huis heeft centrale AC in alle kamers, evenals een wasmachine en droger. Een Weber houtskool grill, strandstoelen, parasols, golfplanken en snorkelsets zijn bij de huur inbegrepen.

Great house, great location, great pool

This was a great house that was well maintained. The pool was nice and clean and pool service even came during our stay also! Lots of towels including beach towels. Kitchen was well stocked. House kept nice and cool during our stay. Knowing there was a generator was great and it did need to kick on once! The location to the beach was amazing. The beach was breath taking. While we did explore the island/ other beaches, honestly the house beach was amazing,

Well appointed, well managed and great location!

We have been coming to Eleuthera since 2013. This is the most well appointed, well managed and comfortable home we have stayed in to date. We had a few hiccups during our stay but Carol was right on it every time. She and her team run this house like a well oiled machine. Her responsiveness and customer service is the best on the island!

Stay at Gumbo Limbo

The house was perfectly located, close to Governors Harbor and great beaches. The size of the house is great and very comfortable. The pool is wonderful. The internet is extremely unreliable and therefore the TV also doesn't work often. The kitchen is well stocked. Having a generator was extremely beneficial

Amazing stay!

Our family of 5 had an amazing stay at Gumbo Limbo! The property was amazing- better than the pictures. Well stocked kitchen and tons of towels and the pool was large. Our kids spent hours in it. The beach within walking distance was one of our favourites. Both the on site property manager, Carol, and Pam- who helped us all the way until we arrived were top notch. Would highly recommend location and amenities. We will be back to this island and will stay here again.

Amazing beach house!

We loved everything about this beautiful house! Perfect location for us with a private stairway to a pink sand beach. Walk to Tippy's or the Potlatch Club, take out the kayak, snorkel or bask by the heated pool. Great vacation for family of 5, with three teens. Would definitely return!

A perfect paradise

I cannot say enough good things about Gumbo Limbo! We traveled here with two 10 year olds and a 3 year old. The location is top notch. This house is on the most beautiful beach on Eleuthera. Sometimes we even wondered why we left to do other things. The house is so beautiful and comfortable. The pool is pristine! Having Tippys just right down the street was also perfect! I hope we can make it back to this paradise.

Beautiful house with some limitations

Overall had a wonderful stay at Gumbo Limbo, however, be aware that this house does not have an operating generator, and power outages occurred every other day while we were there. Can be a bit uncomfortable in 90+ degree heat. Outdoor fans are also inoperable, as is the outdoor shower. No outdoor gas grill, only charcoal, limiting with charcoal being $30 a bag. Good beach gear, aside from no snorkel masks. Good location, just down the road from Tippy’s, with fairly easy beach access across the road.

The area around the home is quiet and safe. The proximity to governors harbor is close, there are several good restaurants and a pretty well stocked grocery store. The distance from governors harbor airport is about an hour and fifteen minutes, but it’s not a bad drive. The beach is beautiful and very private. The private pool was also great. We had it to ourselves the entire time. Carol is a pleasure and very helpful. I cannot say anything negative about our stay! Thank you having us!!

Vacation Paradise

This property was perfect for us. We had privacy in our bedroom plus private bath, and our daughter and family had their own bedrooms/bath on the other side of the cottage, with common space between. Perfect layout. Having the pool to jump into at any time of the day was wonderful, with lots of comfortable outdoor furniture. Well-outfitted kitchen allowed us to make most meals on site and save some costs. The washer and dryer were a bonus with children. We appreciated the beach towels provided, plus everything one might need, as we travelled from Canada with minimal luggage. Being able to walk to some sites was great. The beach was just a few minutes' walk away, and it was gorgeous and non-crowded every day. Eleuthera is a gorgeous island, and I think we stayed at the best location to explore it. The weather stayed sunny and hot each day, and we enjoyed every minute of it! We would love to return here another winter.

Just little details

Our stay was great in general. We enjoyed it and loved the proximity to the beach. We have been to Eleuthera many times over the years and generally know what to expect. Only a couple of areas for suggested improvement: 1) Pool seemed to have remnants of a sealant or plastic protective covering or something delaminating. It made the pool experience less than optimal. 2) The outdoor front and rear porch ceiling fans didn't work. That is an important part of sitting outside in the heat that made spending time outside a challenge for us. 3) Typically we assume a base level of soap and shampoo are provided(like a hotel size) when renting a place of this level. We often don't pack those items because they are usually provided. There were no toiletries provided and it's hard to find those things conveniently on the island so not an ideal situation. 4) The recommended car rental company was less then desireable. The car was very old, AC worked only on full high fan, radio didn't work, generally worn out. I saw many rentals on the island that were top notch and newer and will be sure an pursue one of those in the future. I suggest you recommend those sources as well.

The pool was always clean and inviting. Everything we could have needed for the beach and pool was available. Beach access was very easy to get to and so close. We used the kayak a few times! Location was the best. Close to the market, liquor store, gift shop, coffee shop, and beaches of course. Our property manager, Carol, was so kind and welcoming. She was quick to help us with any problems! Overall, this was the best family vacation we have been on, and it’s partly due to the wonderful house we called home for the week!!

Easy to get to. Local grocery stores and places to eat. The house was so clean and the towels and bedding smelled to good. We loved the access to the beautiful beach. The house also had great amenities with the pool and the beach chairs and kayaks down by the beach. It was also a very private location so quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend the house and the great staff at Eleuthera Vacation Rentals. They were on top of everything and helpful for whatever we needed and easy to reach and work with.

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I and two friends stayed here for eight days at Gumbo Limbo and everything is as advertised in the description and in the pictures. The house was well stocked with all the kitchen essentials, it also has plenty of beach towels and beach equipment. The location on Banks Road is excellent and it is just a short one to two minute walk to the beach from the house. The pool, with its lush, tropical setting, is very peaceful and quiet. The Eleuthera Vacation Rentals staff is always excellent to deal with (shout out to Carol!) and they will always take care of you. I would not hesitate to book this house for your next vacation!

After 10 days we were sad to be leaving what we decided was the a top 2 vacation house experience we’ve ever had!!Everything was perfect, from the location, the heated pool, the cleanliness.But what set this house apart from many other homes we have stayed in was the amazing comfort throughout the house.From the bed, to the various seating throughout the inside of the house.But our favorite spot was the covered outdoor porch with com, high quality seating. A+!The beach was across the street and the house had many beach chairs and accessories.We highly recommend this home and will be back!
