'A beautiful, well-maintained old (17C) building, complemented by the warm welcome from co-owner Elvira. We didn't meet her husband, but he was clearly hard at work in the kitchen. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms comfortable. The rooms felt quite opulent, with large mirrors, stained glass, pretty décor, a well-stocked ensuite bathroom, and deep beds. We slept and ate well!'

'It was an excellent 2 night stay, breakfast was plentiful and delicious with lots of choice, bed was very comfortable providing a good night's sleep and being able to use the swimming pool was an added plus, would definitely reccomend. '

'Stayed 1 night as a stop off. Staff friendly and professional. The pool had been in use when we arrived and we were told we would only be able to use after 7:30pm and pool closed at 8:00pm, which was disappointing as it was one of the reasons for booking this hotel. The staff however told us we could have longer time which was lovely of them.
The pool is not massive but enough to have a good swim.
Continental breakfast was included in our booking and there was plenty of choice.

The pod had everything available from bed linen, towels, tea towels, cooking equipment, utensils, toaster, microwave , iron, ironing board, hair dryer, books, log burning fire and more.
Also for added security there is a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, smoke alarms and security...

'An enjoyable stay, use of the spa being free as a guest, 2 hour booking having the spa to ourselves was extra special, weather this be the same if hotel was busy, spa pool was quite small would have been quite full.
Staff friendly and courteous. Highly recommend the Coctails, a little pricy, reduce to £9 as £13 bit steep, we would have had more.!
We ate in the restaurant great choices nicly presented. £9 for a dessert again a little pricy. '

'Angie and Charly could not have been more welcoming, The position was spectacular overlooking the valley set in a lovely garden, The rooms very tastefully decorated with large proportions.
If in the area again we would definitely stay again.'

After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel.
It's set in a small, quiet village near the river.
We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent
The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy.
The breakfast in the morning was superb quality made from local produce. ...

'The house suited our needs, however the lounge was upstairs although on the plans it was on the ground floor and we had elderly parents who couldn’t climb the stairs. We arrived to overflowing bins which smelt very bad and they weren’t sorted until the following morning. The photographs are clearly out of date as the accommodation is tired and is used as a HMO.'
