Kom en ervaar absolute rust ... zonder het ruw te maken!

  • De Nuthouse Cottage ligt op een heuvelrug met hardhout in het zuiden en een weide in het oosten. Grazende koeien, schapen of geiten zijn in zicht, net als groenblijvende planten, waaronder een oogst van kerstbomen waarvoor Ashe County bekend is.

    Het huisje is een drie verdiepingen tellende structuur met een goed ingerichte en handige keuken met gaskookplaat en oven en een vaatwasser. De comfortabele woonkamer heeft een open haard met gasblokken en komt uit op portieken met rockers en tafels, een gasgrill en tuinen gevuld met vaste bloemen in het seizoen.

    Op de tweede verdieping zijn er twee slaapkamers met queensize bedden en een gedeeld bad met een grote inloop betegelde douche. De hoofdslaapkamer is voorzien van een gasgestookte open haard, terwijl de tweede slaapkamer de wenteltrap heeft naar het kraaiennest met brede raamstoelen om het omliggende landschap te bekijken. Deze zijn geschikt voor één persoon slapen en hiervoor is één slaapzak aanwezig, evenals dekens.

    Voorzieningen zijn ook een wasmachine / droger, een dvd-speler en gratis WiFi. Brandhout is beschikbaar in het seizoen.

Grayson Highlands trail race trip

Stayed here to be in close proximity to Grayson Highlands state park for a trail race. Nothing negative to say about our lodging and the property. We had everything we needed and the grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend if you are escaping the city and want a relaxing stay in the playground I call the mountains!

DREAMY!!

This is the second time we have stayed here, and it will not be the last. The Nut House is absolute perfection. Nestled in the gorgeous mountains surrounded by nature, each little detail of the home is so charming. It has become a "home away from home" for us. Highly recommend!

Perfection

One of the loveliest homes and properties we have ever stayed. The view is incredible, the location is absolutely beautiful and peaceful and the home is cozy and comfortable. Our whole family loved every minute of our visit here. The fireflies at night were spectacular. The kitchen is one of the best stocked I’ve ever seen. My kids loved the crow’s nest and rocking in the chairs on the front porch was blissful. We certainly plan to return!!

Slice of Heaven on Earth

Absolutely a magnificent place in every way! The pictures on the website are great but the actual place is beyond beautiful. If you want true peace and quiet in a beautiful well kept and cared for home with everything you need along with very attentive hosts, this would be the place to go. The Nuthouse cottage exceeded expectations! The house was clean and well stocked with everything you could want for an escape away from the city. The property had amazing views and was immaculately manicured. Traylor was an awesome host and this would be the first place we would check if/when we want to come back to the area!

A very special place

It's hard for the photos to tell the story of this very special property. The location is gorgeous, the reflection pond is a lovely bonus space, and the house itself is luxurious and outfitted with beautiful, artistic items, and the space makes relaxation easy. The quality of everything in the house is extremely high, including all of the equipment in the kitchen, which made cooking there a complete joy. Diana and Traylor are incredibly gracious hosts and were generous in taking care of us--in ways we had not anticipated! We would love to return, as this made for a very comfortable and inspiring stay!

Our family is absolutely nuts about the Nuthouse Cottage!

So much more than just a rental cottage, the views, the pond, the trails are immaculate. Pictures do not do this cottage and surrounding property justice. The Nuthouse Cottage is absolutely wonderful, the crow's nest was hit with the kids and the kitchen made prepping family meals a breeze! The surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous, the views are amazing, the grounds are wonderfully cared for and the pond makes for a spectacular spot to fish, swim, paddle around or just relax. Definitely woild recommend and we will certainly be planning another stay in the "Nuthouse"!

Lived up to the hype

We loved our stay at the Nuthouse Cottage. The property was expansive and beautiful. There has been a tremendous amount of thought put into the property layout. The home was very comfortable, had great 360 degree views and the host makes sure you have anything you could need. The kitchen was exceptional and everything was of high quality. This is an amazing part of the country to enjoy. This host sets you up to enjoy it properly.

Another Wonderful Vacation at the Nuthouse Cottage

This was our second time staying at the Nuthouse Cottage. We selected this property again because it provides such a peaceful experience. The cottage is very inviting and the kitchen is well equipped with all your cooking needs. The Nuthouse Cottage is surrounded by nature, providing a sense of calm. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, and tubing in the Reflection Pond located on the property. The property owners are wonderful and really put a lot of thought into creating a relaxing environment for their guests. We are very fond of the Nuthouse Cottage and hope to return again in the future.

This property is the most unique and beautiful vrbo we’ve stayed at! A true labor of love. Had everything we needed. The pond is beautiful and well maintained. The cottage is so charming. It is off the beaten path in terms of being on/next to a farm. Closest grocery store/restaurant is a drive but you won’t really want to leave. Just bring supplies. Kitchen well stocked with essentials.

DREAMY!!!

Maybe the BEST house we have ever rented. The hosts truly thought of everything, and the house was fully stocked. The property is gorgeous, and we explored all the trails, the pond, and the highest overlook. The house itself is just charming and has so much personality, with each little space decorated so uniquely. My favorite room was what we called the "tippy top"... windows all around to see the magnificent view. We loved to sip coffee and read up there. I cannot recommend the Nut House enough! We look forward to coming back!

The Enchanted Cottage

Our stay at the Nuthouse was absolutely perfect. The cottage is very comfortable and clean.. with a well appointed kitchen, porches on front and back to enjoy the sweet smell of fresh mountain air, gazebo with chiminea for evening wine sipping, private walking trails with pristine nature all around. The beds are super comfortable with high end sheets so sleeping with the windows open is that much better. The owners have thought of everything to keep your family delighted in this enchanting cottage. If you can find an opening, I recommend booking it! Oh..did I mention the fireflies at night…..can’t wait to return.
