This is a review of Katikies Santorini in Oia, not Katikies Garden in Fira (also known as Thira). The hotel contacted us about two weeks before our stay to change the location and we agreed because we read good things about Oia. And our stay did not disappoint. The hotel is located at the beginning of the main strip in Oia, facing the caldera. Checking in, we knew the facility was special because the staff was very welcoming and showed us around the facility, which is laid out on the cliff. This layout enabled many rooms, including ours, to have gorgeous views of the sea, caldera, nearby islands, and of course, the renowned sunsets, which we enjoyed in the hot tub on our private balcony. There are many steps and walking is required, so I don't think this property would be suitable for those looking for accessibility. But we loved the facility and also took advantage of the pool and onsite restaurant. We ate multiple meals onsite, again because of the beautiful views and excellent service. And the food was excellent, especially the prepared to order breakfasts, which were delicious and among the best we've had. We stayed in early November and many hotels and stores in the area were closing (or have closed) for the winter season, through March/April of the following year. But there were no crowds and easy access to restaurants and tours that were open. We also did not need any heating or AC in the room and just left the windows open for the sea breeze.
