I stayed here for a week, with my 21 year old daughter. The view over Chania and the see is unbelievable! We had a wonderful time: the rooms were perfectly clean and well maintained. The staff is wonderful and helpful. There is a shuttle service into the old town, but walking down hill into town was also lovely. Breakfast is really good.

Perfect voor een bezoek aan Chania
Mooi uitzicht vanuit de kamer en waar voor je geld! Gratis handige shuttleservice naar het centrum van Chania! Restaurant is voor een deel in renovatie maar dat mag de pret niet drukken!

Perfect experience
I really enjoyed my days at the Royal Sun: fantastic view over Chania, comfortable room with good airco, great food at the restaurant, not too busy. And maybe the most important was the fact that everyone from the cleaning staff to the people working in the restaurant or at reception were super friendly and personable. Can definitely recommend if you are looking for a good base to explore this part of Crete!

Fantastisch uitzicht!
Wat een geweldige locatie en wat een geweldig uitzicht! Neem vooral een kamer met een terras en je zult niet teleurgesteld zijn. Op kreta veel mooie uitzichten, maar dit slaat alles. Prachtig over Chania. Kamers zijn comfortabel, het bed hard,aar goed. Badkamers erg klein. Goed restaurant onsite. Maar dat uitzicht is waanzinnig! Op 10 minuten afstand van het vliegveld, dus perfect voor een eerste of laatste nacht. Gratis shuttle naar en van het centrum van Chania

Minder goed is de sport faciliteit. Oud spul en de wanden waren nog onafgewerkt. het leek als een bouwval. Voor de rest was alles perfekt. Prima vermaakt en heerlijk gegeten.

Het eten en de bediening was zeer goed alsook de netheid op de kamer. Het unieke was het open resaurant tegen de bergwand op met een zeer mooi uitzicht over de stad chania. Wij waren zeer tevreden over ons verblijf. Één min puntje was de ligging van ons kamer 510. Lag zeer dicht bij de keuken en oprit van de auto’s ( lawaai hinder)

This hotel was up on the hill looking over the city. The view was spectacular. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent. There was a free shuttle to downtown very regularly through the day. We look forward to returning to this hotel some day.

This is an amazing hotel. Set on a hill high above Chania. You will not get a better view, and never get fed up of looking at it. Access to town is simple and provided by a regular shuttle. The staff on reception, in the dining area, on the shuttle bus are amazing. Nothing is too much for them. The pool area is great, again, views to die for. Quiet, and relaxing. Cannot recommend it enough.

Comments on hotel are misleading, be ware of this. Check in was not a pleasant experience, the lady at front desk was annoyed from the moment I approached the desk.Requests about VIP perks were brushed off, not recognized or not available. The place was practically empty. The initial room provided had mold on the roof of the bathroom. The second room had the same issue and the third one was apparently all they had available. There was mold in there as well but not as visible as it was in the other two. It had clearly been painted over. My reservation was none refundable so I endured. The gym is dated and it was in a mess when I walked in there after check in. Decided not to go back in there. My room was cleaned daily but bring your own towel if you must stay here. The towels house keeping kept leaving me after the second day should be retired. The rooms are not soundproof, any movement or sound in other rooms could be heard in my room, as a light sleeper this was challenging. After an attempt on the behalf of Expedia to assist, I was magically provided wine and a plate of fruit mid stay. Even though the hotel is old, there is soo much potential but it’s poorly maintained. The wall papers in the three rooms I saw was on their last leg. Attention to detail could go a long way. The restaurant on 3rd floor had great views, service was slow but I didn’t mind. The staff in the restaurant were polite and the food was tolerable.

Always a wonderful stay at this very special hotel. The views are incredible and unrivalled in Chania, but it’s the staff that really make your stay so special. We enjoyed amazing views over Chania from our balcony and restaurant. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus made it easy to get into town during the day and evening. All in all a very pleasant stay.

I didn’t like how it was dealt with it.
I liked the place but it I have couple of points to comment on. First the walk to my room was extremely dark, and it was really scary to walk to hallway. Second, as I was in the room and taking a shower, someone opened the door and left the door open. I called the front desk and she asked me 3 times if I am sure that this happened! Why would anybody lie about something like this. I asked her to check with the cleaning lady, she did and called me back apologizing. But that is very unprofessional because why would she try to get in on the first place, how is she not informed that there is a customer in there. Then since she opened and saw that there is somebody in there, why d didn’t she close the door after her. It is just a very unprofessional incident that scared me a lot.

Fantastisk utsikt over byen, men en del støy
Hotell som ligger en kort kjøretur på 20min fra flyplassen. Vi booket kun én natt her da vi skulle videre, og ønsket et hotell med badebasseng for å slappe av. Kjempefint uteområde med stort basseng og senger. Ett pluss at det var «skyggeplasser» om man ønsket det. Vi bestilte hotellrom med «delvis sjøutsikt». Helt grei standard og størrelse. Ble litt skuffet over renholdet på badet, da det virket litt skittent og det var hår i dusjen…. Rommene er ikke lydtette, så vi hørte alt fra folk pratet i gangene til når naboen tok seg en dusj. Frokosten var absolutt god. Vi spiste middag her også, den stod til forventningene. Eneste å trekke på her at det vi ventet lenge på servitøren og vi måtte nærmest huke tak når vi først fikk muligheten. Alt i alt et fint hotell med fantastisk utsikt over byen, men noe dårlig rengjøring og mye bråk fra gaten og generelt på hotellet trekker det ned. Én natt var mer enn nok for oss.

Das Hotel ist rundum schön. Leckeres Essen, nettes Personal, schöne Zimmer. Und der Ausblick vom Restaurant aus auf die Stadt und das Meer ist das Highlight! Der kostenlose Shuttle Service in die Altstadt macht auch die Entfernung zum Zentrum wett. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen!

Wonderful hotel! The free shuttle service to and from the city centre was so convenient. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only negative was the mattress was a bit too soft for my liking. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel had an amazing view of Chania and the sunset! The quality of the food at the restaurant was lovely. The shuttle to town is very handy and the drivers are always very helpful. They have bar service at the pool, our only con to that was the phone did not always work we had to try and call a couple of times before someone answered.

The Royal Sun was very accommodating. We had travel issues, coming in a day later after our reservation. At no additional cost they adjusted our reservation. The views are extraordinary from the bar/breakfast area. We thought the distance from the Mediterranean would be an issue. However, not the case. Views, food, and staff do an amazing job. The shuttle service to and from the hotel to chania was great. Nothing bad to say about the Royal Sun. Showers are a little tight! Everything else wonderful. Highly recommend

5th time I stayed at this hotel. They could charge dinner to your room so you can only charge once in a stay. Fabulous pool for Greece. Pools are more rare than usual because of infrastructure. Also gets you out of the hustle of the city for a relaxing trip.

Excellent hôtel où nous avons passé 4 jours en mai. Le restaurant et le service sont superbes et la piscine très grande. Le seul accroc était le chien du voisin qui aboyait beaucoup le soir, mais recommandons fortement cet hotel. Service de navette pour le centre ville apprécié.

Tres bon hotel, les chambres sont tres bien avec une grande terrasse et une vue exceptionnelle. La salle de bain est un peu petite. Le restaurant et le petit dej sont delicieux.
