'Room was large and clean with a bath and shower. The hotel is in a beautiful village next to the river and many lovely walks. Evening meal was excellent, as was breakfast. All the staff were great with Naomi going above and beyond.'

'Although the accommodation is a bit tired, it cant distract from the excellent value. The rooms as stated were tired, but spotlessly clean. The rooms were very warm and the beds comfy. The breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff, very welcoming quality and piping hot. Plenty if selection'

'The food was the main attraction, it was delicious. The staff were great and welcoming. The only niggle was the force of the hot water from the hot tap and the shower head. It was just a trickle from both.'

We had to leave the hotel early next morning before kitchen opened but staff left us breakfast (cereals, yogurt etc) out for us which was really appreciated. Also made us sandwiches to take with us. Pub/bar and food was really good. Cosy. '

'Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely. Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here.'

'Great location, friendly owner and house keeper, well maintained with a cosy homely feel. The kitchen was well equiped for self catering and the home was kept warm for our autumnal stay. Towels were provided as were gowns and slippers which were a thoughtful addition for the use of the hot tub. A much appreciated basket of goodies greeted us on arrival. Would happily return.'
