'Hotel is good for a last minute place to book and very convenient neighborhood location. It is a converted assisted living facility so it has the hallmarks, like drop ceiling, communal cafe, feel of an elderly care facility and utilitarian furniture and kitchenettes in the rooms, not comfort-first amenities. The check-in desk is exactly what you’d expect at an assisted living facility. I’ve stayed at good museum hotels and there are some things I expect at this type of hotel that are missing...

'Perfect hotel, only minus was that internet signal was sometimes not sting. Maybe because I was at the 11th floor Breakfast was good value for money, however plenty of breakfast alternatives around. '

'I loved this hotel! It’s in a beautiful part of uptown Chicago (Andersonville- an adorable gayborhood), near lots of cute shops, thrift stores, pubs, and bakeries. It sits right across the street from a beautiful cemetery, filled with gorgeous old trees. The lobby is charming and welcoming, as is the rooftop deck, where you can see the Chicago skyline in the distance. The rooms are nicely decorated-tasteful, not overly adorned. Our room had a lovely balcony that we enjoyed. Beds were comfortable...

'Room was extremely clean, and the few staff we interacted with were super helpful and sweet. My only wish was that there was a microwave in the room, but we made do with the one in the lobby. We had tickets to a concert at the Allstate arena, and this was the perfect spot! Literally a 10 minute walk, and the hotel had easy free parking. Staying there you wouldn’t even think you were so close to a little the arena, or the airport. A little pricy, but was worth it for all the convenience.'

'Mooi, niet al te groot hotel in Chicago met veel restaurants etc in de buurt. Kamers waren aan de kleine kant maar netjes. Bedden waren wel te zacht. Bad om in te douchen is ook niet meer van deze tijd. Weinig ruimte om je spullen en handdoeken op te hangen in badkamer. Verder ontbijt in Somerset was prima a la carte. Personeel uiterst vriendelijk. '

'Wife and I always come back to the Waldorf Astoria-Chicago as our preferred hotel in downtown. We’ve experienced a bunch, but none ever truly make us want to call it home.'

'Overall nice setup, continental breakfast with many options, concern is the amount that Expedia charged us at $212 didn’t mention another $175 paid/refundable deposit fee. So we paid initially $378. Was not expecting this, and the owner said it would take 7 to 10 business days to pay us back the deposit. Parking was a problem too, very narrow streets with cars bumper to bumper. But again, nice amenities and close to everything.'
