Wakker worden tussen de boomtoppen in deze Gualala Retreat met twee slaapkamers, een prachtig gelegen Redwood Escape met een eigen bubbelbad, een omslagdek met bos en uitzicht op de oceaan en een prachtige locatie langs de Noordkust van Californië. Houd er rekening mee dat dit huis niet door de open hok wordt aanbevolen voor kinderen jonger dan 12 jaar.

U vindt deze gezellige boomhut in een dichte bos van redwoods, slechts vier mijl ten noorden van de charmante winkels, markten en galerijen in het centrum van Gualala. Wakker tot een prachtig uitzicht op de Stille Oceaan door de bomen, neem lang, ontspannen rijden langs een spectaculaire stuk van California Highway 1, en kijk onvergetelijke zonsondergangen vanaf de Point Arena Vuurtoren 16 mijl ten noorden.

De leefruimte is een ode naar de natuurlijke omgeving van het huis, met een overvloed aan zichtbare hout- en vloer-naar-plafond ramen die de roodhout vormen. Krul in de raamzitting met een boeiende roman uit de planken, blaai door de kabelaanbod op de flatscreen-tv en gebruik de gratis WiFi om wandelingen, natuurwandelingen en picknicks in de omliggende heuvels te plannen.

Zorg ervoor dat u elke ochtend zelfgemaakte ontbijten in de volledige keuken slaat, en breng uw koffie naar de picknicktafel op het omslagdek. Breng je dagen walvissen op de oevers van het Gualala Point Regional Park of ga uit bij de Sea Ranch Golf Links 19 mijl ten zuiden en eindig de avonden met een ontspannende blik in het prive-bubbelbad onder de boomtoppen voordat je door het vuur knuffelt.

Don’t do it

Very musty and smelly. Everything in this place smells. All of our clothes and everything we brought with us absorbed the musty smell. Cooked steak dinner there and the musty aftertaste was terrible. Went out to dinner at a nice restaurant and felt so bad dining at the restaurant as I could smell the mustiness on our clothes and on our bodies, if we could smell this then I know the other patrons at the restaurant could smell it too. Felt so dirty and so embarrassed. Won’t ever return there, we were so excited about this vacation get away only to be completely disappointed.

Redwood House delivers again

This was my 4th stay at this property and, as usual, it was the exact remedy to my stress. First of all, the quiet of the area is arresting. The only sounds were the birds chirping and the sea lions barking against the background of waves crashing. So incredibly peaceful. Everything worked as expected. Check in was simple. Property was well maintained, although there are some spongy planks on the deck near the hot tub. The hot tub is a high point of this property. Kicking back at night and listening to the ocean and the aforementioned sea lions is a sensory experience not to be missed.

Great stay in the coastal redwoods

Wonderful and cozy place, perfect for a quiet and intimate getaway. Would definitely recommend to any couple looking for a quiet getaway with a vintage feel. The Thai spot down the road is great and it’s a short and fun drive to Gualala or Point Arena. 10/10!

Pro's, Clean, quiet, private. Beautiful view. Cons, Couches , beds, coffee maker, shower kinda suck. No microwave cookware. Fireplace didn't work. Bed is super hard, couches are horrible. Worst 5 night's sleep ever!. But nice view..

Overall, we were disappointed. The location couldn't be better--secluded, quiet, dark at night, ocean view, and surrounded by redwoods. Having a washer and dryer was helpful. But otherwise, we feel we way overpaid for such a rundown property. First and foremost, the house was SO COLD. There is only one heat register that works; the rest have a note on them saying they're "not connected." We ran that heat register, the gas fireplace, and the lone space heater for a full 24 hours before the house came to a reasonable temperature that did not require me to wear my down jacket inside. Second, it wasn't all that clean or in good shape. There were cobwebs in the bathroom and on stairs and ceilings, the shower drain was slow, leaving me standing in several inches of slimy water by the end of my short shower, and the furniture is very worn and dingy. The queen bed squeaks so loud; I had to stay in one position all night to avoid waking my baby in the next room (and the pocket door to that room sticks and is also very loud, and won't shut all the way). The front left burner on the stove doesn't work at all. The house is dimly lit inside. I see these same problems described in reviews from years past, so clearly they've known about issues for a long time and haven't bothered fixing them. Check-in wasn't until 4:00, and check-out is at 10:00, making our three-day stay feel like a quick two-day stay. And the listing states it has two bedrooms, but this isn't quite true. There is one room with a door, but the second "bedroom" is just the rest of the loft, which you can't close off from the rest of the house. It could be great with a few repairs and updates, but as-is, it's not worth nearly the price we paid.

Had an amazing stay at Redwood House. The seclusion and natural beauty of the property were perfect for a weekend getaway. The hot tub was just what i needed to melt away the stress of these crazy times. Will definitely return to this property.

Nice location, home needs some love

The other reviews speak to similar points. You are paying for the location and view, both of which were amazing. Great cleaning service. But, there aspects of the home that were dated and in need of repair (shower door didn't close). Seems like other travelers have had the same experience...the owner fixes things as needed but it is still quite dated. In looking at other properties, it seems you can find a similar property with more updated/modern amenities for less. Unsure if we would return to this home specifically despite the awesome location.

Absolutely gorgeous cabin!

This cabin is situated directly "above" the Anchor Bay campground, therefore there's an amazing view of the water directly from the deck. The windows throughout the home make you feel like you're in a treehouse and the surrounding forest did not disappoint. Though there are neighbors close by, we rarely saw/heard another person while at the house. It was perfect for our family to use as a "home base" for exploring the northern coast, as it's situated between Bodega Bay and Point Arena and it's 3-4 hours to Avenue of the Giants. The house is rustic but has all of the essentials; be prepared as there is no dishwasher and the coffee pot is relatively small. The fireplace and a heater in the kitchen are the only sources of heat. There was a small space heater in the bedroom which was useful, as it was cooler than we anticipated for June and there were few blankets in the home (I'm assuming due to COVID). While the wi-fi was not always perfect, the house was the only consistent place we had service for our devices and we felt it was really good considering the remote location. Very easy check-in and check-out. Perfect vacation!

What a beautiful hide away!! The best morni: a slight chill in the air, coffee & a view of the ocean

Very nice. We loved the solitude! Well kept property and nice to have the hot tub! Would definitely stay again!! A fantastic drive up and down the PCH!! Dont miss @Queenies for eats and wine on the deck - our host Emelia was very sweet. And @Arena Point Light House was really interesting!! Recommendations- very minimal. Better lighting at front door for arrival in evenings. More lighting and mirrors upstairs for multiple people getting around. More wash clothes. And a bigger coffee pot😉😜🤣

Very peaceful

The house is a little dated, as mentioned in some of the other reviews, and the internet and cable is sort of 2005-ish, but none of that was enough to detract from the quiet beauty of the place. The ocean framed by the redwoods was a great view. I think the owners could be more forthright in the listing by stating clearly that cable/internet may not work, and when it does it is best thought of as a way to check emails or read the paper. They 'do' mention this, but only in the check-in documents (after one has fully paid). Stating it up front in the listing would be better. The management company was very responsive when we stopped by to mention a few things. Would definitely go back!

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. We never actually saw the ocean due to the fog, but enjoyed the cool temperatures, hot tub and fireplace. The view was wonderful to wake up to. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the reading area on the second level.

Cozy Cabin

Great location in the woods just off the coastal highway. Quiet, peaceful and being able to hear the ocean from the back porch helped round out the calmness - hot tub helped with the relaxing too! Lots of birds, wildlife and critters made for entertaining viewing off the porch. The grill and stocked kitchen made for easy meal prep and and the open living space was perfect for entertaining the few days we stayed.
