I stayed at Casa Carmel during a business trip to Guatemala, and overall it was a great experience. The property is a beautiful, cleverly adapted historic house that has been transformed into a charming bed-and-breakfast. You can really feel the character of the place.
The location is excellent if you want to explore the city. Several beautiful churches and important landmarks are within walking distance, which makes it a great place to stay if you want to get to know the historic center better.
One small note for travelers arriving by car: there is a parking lot almost directly in front of the property, but it comes at an additional cost per hour or per night. The website clearly mentions that parking is not included, so this was expected, and I did not consider it a negative aspect of my stay. For reference, I paid around Q150 (USD 20.00 at the time) for less than a full day of parking.
Overall, Casa Carmel is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you appreciate historic buildings and a central location.
