As mentioned in previous reviews, the bathroom ceiling was moldy. Water was leaking from the apartments above into our bathroom.
The next day, we requested a different room. After a lot of insistence, we finally got another room at the end of the day. They acted as if they had never heard of the leakage before… Instead of...

'me and my wife spent 10 days in februari 2013 at plaza real resort without any real problems or complains. nice pool with good food and service, friendly staff everywhere, good security, beautifull beach with entrance across the street, ac in bedroom, free wifi with reasonable speed in the room, supermarket and italian baker around the corner, exeptional value for the money, juan dolio for the rest is quiet and a real touristic spot without a nightlife.'

They acted as if they had never heard of the leakage before… Instead of putting on this act, they would be better off investing their energy into renovating the entire ground floor.
Other than that, the hotel is definitely recommended due to its great service and quality food and drinks."
