The property in Puerto Santana looked just like the photos, and the location was excellent—close to everything and very convenient for exploring the area. The price was also reasonable for the location and overall space.That said, the apartment could use some better upkeep. Several kitchen items, including the pots and basic cookware, felt dated. One of the bedroom TVs was not working during our stay. The beds were also somewhat uncomfortable, and the sheets and towels are due for replacement; they appeared worn and did not feel very fresh. There was also not enough soap provided for the shower.Cleanliness and maintenance could be improved overall. With newer cookware, towels, linens, and a little more attention to the small details, the stay would feel much more comfortable and polished.One important thing to note for international visitors: there is a significant security presence in the area and building. While this may be normal locally, it can feel surprising or a bit shocking for guests visiting Ecuador for the first time. Also, nighttime noise was a major issue, so light sleepers may want to keep that in mind.Overall, it is a reasonably priced option in a great location with an apartment that matches the listing photos, but it would benefit from updates, better supplies, and stronger attention to cleanliness and comfort.
