Set within the enviable walking territory of Cornwall’s Tamar Valley and close to Dartmoor National Park, this characterful lodge offers a remarkable base for two guests seeking romance, rest, and rewarding hikes in the surrounding hills. As the lodge is situated in an elevated hillside position above the AONB scenery, you can step outside to explore routes right on your doorstep. Greenscombe Woods and the River Tamar are both less than 0.5 miles away, and the outdoor adventure hub of Gunnislake is just 2.5 miles away. On the edge of the village, explore the Tamar Trails Centre (3.5 miles), from where you can start circular walks exploring Devon Great Consols, once the largest copper supplier in Europe. The centre is a fantastic starting point for all kinds of hikes and bike rides in the area and the Tamra Way passes close by.   Also nearby is Calstock (4.5 miles), home to a spectacular viaduct and charming pubs and cafes along the riverbanks. This is a perfect destination to aim for when exploring the surrounding footpaths and tree-lined bridleways.
This studio-style property features traditional wooden panelling both inside and out, lending it a natural charm. Inside, you’ll first notice a compact yet fully functional kitchenette, ideal for preparing lighter meals or prepping for a BBQ. From here, walk into the living room/bedroom - a spacious, open plan room where relaxation awaits. You’ll find a Smart TV and a comfortable sofa, plus a comfortable a double bed. When the weather is cooler there is a fold out dining table, perfect for a romantic meal while still admiring the views from inside. Completing the interior is a neat and functional shower room.
When the sun is shining, let the outside in and open the French doors to create an indoor-outdoor living space overlooking the countryside. The pebbled patio is furnished with a bistro set for two, a BBQ and firepit - providing a lovely spot to unwind outdoors when the weather is just right. After night falls, continue to enjoy the space by lighting the firepit, snuggle up with a blanket and enjoy the dark, starry skies above. A private off-road parking spot completes the exterior.
