My stay at the Gaolf Hotel was overall very good. The location is excellent, the property is beautiful, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The staff working in the restaurant and bar — both the ladies and the gentlemen — were amazing. They were very friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay.
However, I was disappointed with the reception service. I arrived on 1st February 2026 between 15:00 and 17:00. There were two receptionists at the desk. I greeted them three times, but neither of them responded. It was only after I said, “I’m greeting you, but no one is responding,” that they reacted — and even then, it felt like a forced smile. This was very strange and disappointing, as first impressions are very important. That said, there was one gentleman at reception who spoke English (I believe he mentioned he had been in South Africa before). Unfortunately, I forgot his name, but he was very professional and welcoming. Credit to him for his excellent service.
I stayed from 1st February until 13th February. I would also like to mention that more attention should be given to the bed linen and bedding. It seemed as though the sheets were not always properly changed, but rather just adjusted or fixed. I spoke with housekeeping several times regarding the bedding equipment, and I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration.
There was also an incident one night in the kitchen. I ordered beans and rice, but the food was not good and tasted off, so I
