The home features three en-suite bedrooms with built-in closets, 5.5 bathrooms, and two living areas (one on each floor). The second floor living area, with sleep sofa, can also be used as an additional bedroom if needed. A dedicated workspace on the main floor, and a workdesk in the upstairs master suite, along with high-speed internet, makes it easy to stay connected while still enjoying complete privacy and comfort. Thanks to the home’s elevation of 2,100 feet, refreshing mountain breezes and ceiling fans throughout keep the house naturally cool, without the need for air conditioning.

Enter Casa Alegre through the hand-carved cedar pivot door to find a chef’s kitchen with quartz countertops, a custom dining table for eight, and high-end appliances. Several outdoor seating areas make entertaining, dining, and relaxing a true pleasure.

Our attentive property managers, Sandra and Klaas, are fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, and German. They are available before and throughout your stay to ensure a seamless experience. They can assist with rental cars, airport transfers (for a small fee), grocery pre-stocking, private chefs, in-home massages, and customized private tours. Explore Costa Rica with ease; zip-line through the jungle, visit volcanoes, tour wildlife parks, kayak rivers, spot monkeys on a river cruise, or sail the Pacific on a private catamaran.

Casa Alegre is ideally located just one hour from San José Airport and about 45 minutes from the Pacific and Jacó Beach. At 2,100 feet above sea level, the altitude and mountain breezes help you escape the mosquitoes and high humidity found at lower elevations. Year-round temperatures range from about 75–85°F during the day and drop to the comfortable high-60s at night.

The property features a private gated entrance, a washer and dryer, a four-car garage, and ample parking for your comfort. The town of Orotina, known as “the Fruit Capital of Costa Rica,” is just a 10-minute drive away and offers all the essentials you may need. Several excellent restaurants are within a 15-minute drive, and many more are in the town of Atenas, about 25 minutes away.

The owners of this newly renovated home have provided “all the features we’ve always looked for in rentals,” including quality chef’s knives, cooking utensils, and serveware; high-thread-count cotton sheets; down pillows; and comfortable duvets. They hope you enjoy Casa Alegre as much as they do.
