Great Retreat Site
Great place for a private retreat in isolation - it’s at the end of a road, immediately adjacent to the WI channel of the Mississippi River. A little boat traffic and periodic train, but nothing that is disturbing. There are two separate fire pits at your disposal with plenty of firewood too! Cabin is small but perfect for 1 or 2.

Cozy River Getaway
My mom and I had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin along the Mississippi river. The outdoor area was a peaceful getaway after thrifting along the 100-mile garage sale. We didn't use the outdoor fire, but loved both swings. Communication with Ann was excellent before and during our stay.

Beautiful!
We loved everything about our stay in this Bungalow! It was a beautiful location and the inside decor was perfect! It was very clean and I don't say that very often! The fire pits and swings by the water made it even more special but the weather was not our friend, so we'll have to go back to enjoy them. We enjoyed shopping in Red Wing and hope to hike the next time! We'll definitely stay here again!

Great cabin
We had a blast during our weekend stay. Nice cabin with a great view of the Mississippi River. Great for sitting along the shore on one of the swinging benches, staying inside playing board games, or taking a short drive into Red Wing to take in the sites or have a great meal. The hosts were great and would recommend this to anyone.

Piece of Paradise
A piece of paradise is how I would describe this cabin. It is a nice, small cabin located at the end of a dead end road. Though the river was low and we couldn't dock our boat there, the landing was only 2 miles away, so it was fine. Every morning, we had turkeys fanned out and gobbling, among many other animals and birds. Communication with owners was flawless. We will definitely be staying again!

Great Location For Hiking
The location was beautifully located on the river. And so many Eagles nests for a neat bird watching experience. Close to local and the state parks for hiking. Was a very pleasant experience. The cabin had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable weekend. Easy to locate. Quiet and private.

A dreamy cabin located in a beautiful location
Even though the square footage is small, the cabin is well designed for comfort. Outside was beautiful but we were unable to use the fire pits or outdoor seating due to the rainy weather. It was fun to watch the birds and squirrels. The wifi was great and allowed my husband to have zoom work meetings. We plan to return!

Great quiet getaway!
The property is cute & cozy! A short walk to the wisconsin channel from the front porch. You can see it clearly from the front porch. My husband & I stayed for a few days to discover & explore Red Wing. It met our needs perfectly! Communication with the owner was quick. She made it clear she was near to help with any potential problems, which we did not have any. I think this spot could fit a family of four, but it might be a bit cramped if you are inside for too long. So for just the two of us it was perfect! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A quiet peaceful place
We ended up here because we couldn't get a hotel in Red Wing for my 50th class reunion. What a dear place. We didn't get an opportunity to avail ourselves of the fire pits, grill etc. We will definitely be back our next Red Wing trip.

A little piece of paradise!
What an amazing stay at the sweetest, coziest little cabin filled with everything you need! A comfy, snuggly bed. A beautiful, cozy living and dining room. A kitchen stocked with all of your needed cookware and dishes. And…everything was spotlessly clean! The outdoor areas are just amazing. So many sitting areas, fire pits and breathtaking views. There are bench swings and a hammock along the gorgeous riverbank. I felt like I was at my own private nature retreat! Absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful outdoor space and well kept house.
My family and I wanted some peace and quiet and though there was the occasional plane and train there was little to no automobiles and lots of privacy along our river front property. Fawn, birds frogs and other wildlife as well as beach treasures added to the beauty of the well kept grounds. Thank you for sharing this little spot of paradise!

We LOVED the location! We had a blast just chilling on the two swinging benches right by the river. It was so peaceful as we only saw two people on the river the whole time. There were such cute fire pits with lights and plenty of games and other supplies. It was the perfect fit for us! Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic spot!
We had a blast staying here for a few days. Private, lots of nature to enjoy, very cute & comfy little property, grill/fire pit/good fishing spots/etc. Everything needed to get away for a quiet mini-vacation. Great nearby towns to check out, as well - lots to do in Red Wing, Hastings & Winona! Highly recommended.

Very nice , it is very peaceful and relaxing. Saw lots of wild life. Red Wing Mn. is only 3 miles a way and is a great place to play tourist. State parks are close. Saw bald eagles every day.

Great spot right on the water. My father, brother in law and myself needed somewhere to crash relatively close to Welch Village, and found this very suitable. Though the weather wasn’t on our side during our stay, the coziness of the quaint little cabin was perfect for us, and it had everything we needed.

This is such a little gem of a spot, tucked away on a private lot along the Mississippi back channels. We felt we had privacy and serenity even though we could technically see neighboring houses. We had a lovely stay here. The little cabin had everything we needed. We had fun playing the games. And the view was the best part of course! We walked along the river and checked out the beaver hut and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Eagles and ducks. We hiked up barn bluff which was very cool and fun.

Backchannel Bungalow
The property is referred to by this title and it could not describe it better. The property is located on a quiet backchannel of the Mississippi River. Directly across the water was a huge eagle's nest and a pair of bald eagles. Loved watching them gracefully float about the sky and listening to the various sounds they were making. The property had everything we needed and exceeded our expectations as a quiet, peaceful and private retreat. It was the perfect fit for our adventures of hiking and seeking out iced or frozen waterfalls in the area. The hosts were communicative and provided us quick responses to any inquiries we made. Perfect cozy cabin for 2. Nicely maintained grounds all the way down to the river. We had the pleasure of watching a pair of eagles just across the river. Truly an amazing sight. Lots of great restaurants and shopping in the area. Hope to make a return visit in the future.

We could not have had a better experience. We needed a quiet place to relax and have personal time. The grounds are wonderful. You are directly on the Mississippi backwaters. My husband fished every day and caught 6 fish ( one of them twice)! We saw a bald eagle twice. The sunsets were spectacular, especially from the large swing that was perfectly placed. There were two fire pits with as much wood as you needed. Ann was wonderful and very responsive. We will definitely go back!

Outside area very nice... except for the trailer. Cabin was nice. I would suggest having instructions for the tv. The pots and pans should be replaced. We only had 1 blanket and 1 hand towel for two of us! Sitting on the deck was very relaxing... even though we didn't see any wildlife :(

Great Riverside Getaway
We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin! Set in the backwater portion of the Mississippi River across from Redwing, we had plenty of opportunities to fish, watch the bald eagles and herons and enjoy campfires. It was quiet and we got lots of reading done too. Getting to Redwing’s attractions was super easy. Our hosts were wonderful and the cabin was comfy. We’d stay here again!
