Welkom bij Hale Pono!
The North Shore of Oahu's eerste luxe uitje.

Deze verborgen, elegante schoonheid bevindt zich op ongerept terrein in de exclusieve, gated community van de Sunset Beach Colony. Omring jezelf met het prachtige gebladerte van Hawaï terwijl je over het grasveld uitkijkt op een prachtig en vaak leeg wit zandstrand. Ontspan en laat je stress achter.

Dit 5000 vierkante voet huis is een architectonisch meesterwerk met een open plattegrond met grote ramen aan alle kanten waardoor de koele tropische bries stroomt terwijl het ook vergezichten creëert die kilometers ver over de blauwe Stille Oceaan gaan. Je wordt elke nacht in slaap gewiegd met het rustgevende geluid van golven in de verte. Dit huis is ook erg privé met zijn eigen automatische poort, een grote oprijlaan en rotswand die het scheidt van de aangrenzende woningen.

Het moderne ontwerp combineert traditionele Hawaiiaanse materialen zoals rijk teak, bamboe en lavasteen met een open plattegrond die klaar is om te entertainen. Het huis is smaakvol ingericht met comfort en gebruiksgemak in het achterhoofd, maar ook met alle moderne benodigdheden, waaronder flatscreen-tv's overal, Wi-Fi en een volledige wasserette. De keuken is volledig uitgerust om uw eigen maaltijden te maken en beschikt over een BBQ direct naast de keuken. Het huis is ook volledig voorzien van airconditioning mocht dat nodig zijn.

De slaapplaatsen omvatten:

De master suite omvat de gehele bovenverdieping en beschikt over een kingsize bed, een zithoek en een grote badkamer met stenen bad op maat, zijn en haar wastafels en een make-up zithoek. Een groot balkon op de volle breedte is toegankelijk via grote glazen schuifdeuren, die de hele kamer openen voor oneindig uitzicht op de oceaan. Er is ook een grote inloopkast en een klein kantoorgedeelte.

De Downstairs Master heeft ook een kingsize bed, een eigen badkamer en een uittrekbare bank voor extra slaapplaatsen.

Slaapkamers # 1 en # 2 zijn beide voorzien van queensize bedden en een eigen ensuite badkamer en douche

Alle slaapkamers beneden hebben een eigen balkon.


Hoewel weg van de drukte van Waikiki, zijn er veel lokale voorzieningen om ervoor te zorgen dat al uw behoeften haalbaar zijn. Van Ted's Bakery, dat ontbijt, lunch en diner serveert, en op slechts een steenworp afstand van het huis, naar het beroemde resort Turtle Bay, op slechts 10 minuten rijden naar het noorden. Het hotel verwelkomt dagbezoekers in hun verschillende restaurants, zwembaden, stranden en andere voorzieningen, waaronder twee kampioenschapsgolfbanen.

Een full-service markt ligt op 10 minuten naar het zuiden en het charmante stadje Haleiwa ligt op slechts 15 minuten van Kam Hwy en biedt vele restaurants en grote winkels om een dag door te brengen met verkennen. Mocht de wens ontstaan om het Honolulu-gebied te bezoeken, dan is het een snelle rit van 45 minuten naar de wereldberoemde hotels, musea en andere culturele bezienswaardigheden.

This home will not disappoint you! It looks exactly like the pictures, furniture was clean, beds were very comfy, the kitchen had everything you need and there were plenty of spices and staple items in the pantry. The home is very spacious, the outdoor lanais are beautiful as is the view of the ocean. There is no AC in the common areas of the home, but the trade winds kick in and make for a very pleasant tropical afternoon. We had the entire second floor as our bedroom and had the windows and doors open all night with the sound of the waves lulling us to sleep. Preston is the caretaker, he met us on arrival, then only saw him 2 other times as we were on our way out for the afternoon, he is very pleasant! Truly a beautiful place!

This property is even more beautiful than the photos show. The master bedroom is beyond anything I’ve ever stayed in before. Spectator views of the ocean. Every room has great views of the garden. The place is well equipped for a family holiday and perfectly maintained. Preston lives on site and was extremely helpful if we needed anything but otherwise we didn’t see him. I would certainly return again. We have spent every Christmas on the north shore for twenty and this is the most magnificent home we have seen there. The position is perfect.

My family of 6 came to stay here May 14 thru the 24. We had an amazing time. The house is beautiful and had enough space for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked as we cooked a lot of our meals in. The beach was amazing and the sunsets were beautiful. We were truly sad to leave. The host Preston helped with everything including finding a wheelchair for my husband when ours broke and even a new TV when one went out. Overall I would recommend staying here 10+ over 10!

We spent 10 days here before and after our wedding. The place was absolutely amazing and allowed for us to have a great time with friends and enjoy everything the north shore has to offer. We had 8 people and 3 generations celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary at Hale Pono in early August. Making the reservation was easy, communication was clear, timely and informative, The onsite manager, Alix, was able to grant us an early check in which was very appreciated after a long travel day. The gated property is private, lush and has amazing ocean views with easy access. The house is spacious and public areas are elegant, The bedroom en suites are perfect and the kitchen was well equipped as we did cook in most nights. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to our friends. It was a peaceful retreat at the end of each busy day.

We had an unbelievable stay at Hale Pono! Absolutely one of the best spots and homes on the North Shore. The home was perfect for our family of seven, everyone had a comfortable bed and room to spread out and relax. Air conditioned rooms were wonderful! Kitchen and family area was perfect for mornings and evenings and the home together, and I cannot say enough about the heavenly owners suite upstairs! The absolute best part of Hale Pono are the views, hearing the waves right outside your windows, and the access to the beach. So easy to get the kids down to the beach and then back up and showered in the fun outdoor shower!! I will miss my morning drink in the porch listening to the waves!! Thank you for sharing such an incredible place with our family!

My family arrived to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and our daughter's 30th birthday. We were blown away from the minute we walked in! The house and the view was spectacular. Alix happily greeted us and was so kind to leave a wonderful carrot cake from Ted's Bakery for the birthday celebrations! The house was extremely comfortable and spacious for the 4 couples and everyone loved it's warmth and beauty. The big couch was a favorite amongst us all!!! So comfortable. We were all sad to leave after 10 days in this paradise. We feel blessed to have been all together and to have had such a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning again one day! We spent a wonderful week at Hale Pono on the North Shore. The house was spacious for 4 couples with all the amenities one could need during their stay. Having a beach right in the back yard is amazing! Alix, the property manager, was amazing throughout the whole experience. She has a residence in the garage apartment on the property but was not intrusive on our family vacation at all. She was very responsive whenever we had questions arise during our stay. Would highly recommend staying here if you want to stay on the North Shore. Haleiwa is only a 15 minute drive away, as is Turtle Bay Resort. Sunset Beach and Shark's Cove is also just down the road. Ted's Bakery is less than a 10 minute walk from the Hale Pono (get their chocolate haupia cream pie!). The views from the upstairs master suite are incredible, and the sounds of the waves on the shore and the view of the ocean create a serene environment to enjoy your morning coffee on the lanai.

We just returned from Hale Pono. The location was exactly what we were looking for along the North Shore. It was private and quiet, our own piece of paradise for a week. The accommodations were wonderful, and the home well equipped. Alix was welcoming, then left us alone to enjoy each other’s company. We were there with our entire family to celebrate our birthdays and our 35th wedding anniversary. Thank you, Elyse, for sharing your incredible home. We hope to be back one day.

We had four adults and four children (7/6/6/2.5 years), so we needed a larger home. This stood out to us on VRBO as one of the best options in the area, and when we arrived, it was exactly as advertised. The master bedrooms are gigantic and the upstairs bedroom has an incredible balcony with a view of the water. The new air conditioning units in each bedroom made it far more comfortable than it otherwise would have been for sleeping. That's a great upgrade. The kitchen is well-equipped (I wanted to steal the electric kettle), and the open concept with the living and dining room makes it great for families to keep an eye on kids. Outside, the lawn was great for the kids, and the beach beyond is perfect. We were there in summer, so the waves were small. There are some rocky areas in the water, but it's easy to avoid them. We couldn't get the kids out of the water. There is a creek on the side of the house that, at least when we were there, didn't flow into the ocean but just pooled short of it. It did act as a great place for the kids to explore. There were tadpoles all over, and a mother with her little ducklings grew up in front of our eyes. It was like having our own pet ducks since they would come up to us every time they saw us, undoubtedly begging for food. The location is great for access to Turtle Bay's beaches and restaurants (10 minutes), La'ie is only 10 minutes further (careful, it's a dry town), and Foodland Pupukea is just 10 minutes the other way. Waimea Falls is right beyond that. Unfortunately, traffic from that point on to Hale'iwa is pretty awful in the afternoons, so if you plan on doing a lot of driving longer distances, get ready to sit for a long time and get frustrated. But for those looking to stay local and take advantage of the north shore, this house is an excellent choice.

Our family just returned from an unforgettable week at Hale Pono. Elyse, we had such an incredible time in your home! We were celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday and she was thrilled; said it was exactly what she and my Dad wanted for our family vacation. We could not have asked for a more beautiful location. The views were amazing and it was so perfect to be able to just walk down to the beach and snorkel every day. We loved sitting on the lanai so much that we ate dinner at home every night and watched the beautiful sunsets. There were 9 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. My daughter loved the outdoor shower so much that she used it every single day! Even though we loved our spot, we did get out and explore Shark’s cove for snorkeling and made our way into Haleiwa for shaved ice. We also made sure to walk over to Ted’s Bakery for some yummy pie! A big thank you to Alix for greeting us and making sure we were all set. Thank you so much for making our trip such a memorable experience. We truly hope to make it back again! Mahalo.

This is a beautiful sunlit home. It is meticulously maintained and decorated. The snorkeling and beautiful beach just steps from the back deck. This house is perfect for a group of friends or a family. You won’t want to leave.

This house was so beautiful and the location is so great there is very little reason to leave once you arrive! We spent 80% of our vacation on the beach in back of the yard and patio at the home. Alix was easy to reach and so helpful with any thing we needed. The house was very clean and the bedrooms spacious. We were there with 3 generations of family members and never felt crowded. We are looking forward to returning again for other family vacations.

This home is located in a gated community just on the edge of Sunset beach. It has the best beach entry for swimmers. There is a wash out next to the property were people walk through to access the beach. This was not a problem as everyone was either a local or were coming to enjoy the beach. On a busy day there was maybe 12 people. The home has nice views and a large sloping lawn to enter the beach. Alix is the caretaker who lives over the detached with her daughter and is more than helpful and pleasant. We only saw her once during our stay so don't worry about your privacy. The home is equipped with the standards that you would expect. There is alot of condiments left from others, so that you won't need to purchase too many necessities. It was very clean and we appreciated having A/C units in each of the bedrooms. I can highly recommend this property.

Everything was wonderful. A couple mintor issues were taken care of immediately by Alix, the property manager. We can't say enough about her warm welcome even though we arrived very late due to a canceled flight. She was so sweet in leaving us some food so we didn't have to go to bed hungry! The space was perfect for our family of 8, ages 4-64. We will definitely stay at Hale Pono again if we return to that area!

What a truly beautiful home with all the extras. The master bedroom that takes the whole upper floor is truly amazing. Our three girls did not want to leave, and we plan on hopefully returning soon.
