Lovely place in Hana
This would’ve been a great place to spend more time. The view of the Hana Bay to be able to walk near the water. The bed was very comfortable and I liked the style of it. We would stay here again if we come back to Hana.

The location cannot be beat. What a beautiful property on the beach. It was so quiet and you could hear the waves and see the stars. The actual unit was a bit dated but fun and homey all the same.

Nice place for rainy weather
Weather was too nasty to go out and enjoy the beach so we stayed in. We were grateful for how nice the apartment was and the added bonus of board games (although updating the games would be nice). We enjoyed take out in the deck and watched the surf crash the shores. We would stay there again.

Probably the nicest condo in Hawaii I have ever stayed in
I have been to Hawaii four times and stayed in 5 different condos. I think this was the nicest condo I have every stayed in on Hawaii. Great views is the Hana Bay, clean and modern condo, everything opened up with great air flow. Super clean and nice. The people at the condo were super nice and helpful, checkin was a breeze and no massive list of do all the cleaning on checkout. It was so easy. I would rebook this exact unit again if I ever stay in Hana again!

The unit we stayed in was a corner unit with a gorgeous view. I would have been happy to live on the lanai! The condo would be perfect for a couple, but with 2 teenagers on the pull out couch and the bathroom off the bedroom it got a bit tight. I would definitely go back with my husband and leave the kids at home. Amazing area to explore, so beautiful, but definitely bring food with you as food trucks have unreliable hrs.

Overall the place is amazing. The only problem I ran into was the fridge wasn’t working so else had a smaller one out on the Lanai, I wish they had told me. It would be nice if they had some storage containers as well. But again let me reiterate the place is amazing.

Enjoyed the relaxing view from the back porch. Check in after hours was easy using provided directions. Didn't use the kitchen as we ate at Hana Ranch Restaurant and the food trucks (in Hana and the Hana Farms Roadside Stand for pizza).

After spending the day driving the road to Hana, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying the view and watching the whales in the distance. The property was beautiful and the view of the ocean was incredible!

Bucket list sunrise
It only do you have a front row seat to watch the sunrise over Hana Bay, but the ambiance is set by the waves pounding over the black cobble beach and washing right up to your feet. Hana Kai is an treasure buried in the jungle that you want to keep hidden from the world and all to yourself. However, that wouldn’t be good for business or Hana’s economy. So, at the risk of having to fight for a room h my next trip back, I will tell you right now… get out here and explore all that the road to Hana and and this gem that is Hana Kai has to offer and before their amazing beach is overrun with sunrise enthusiasts (yes, myself included).

Great corner condo with marvelous ocean view.
Great ocean view and nearby multiple beaches. The town is small, but the food trucks were great. On the road to Hana, we discovered a fantastic fruit stand/working farm further (south)west from Hana. Condo was great for 2 and could easily fit 3 adults. The balcony and open space to the kitchen made for a fantastic sunrise. FYI, no a/c which was fine for us in the off season of October. FYI, there is a washer/dryer at the check in office not in every condo, once again fine for the one load we did, but maybe not for a whole family. A fantastic condo for 1 night or multiple nights!

What a beach!
Property and room were as advertised and expected, but the additional amenities were just perfect. I was worried it would be too warm when there were fans for the sleeping areas, but it was comfortable and cool all night, even with the bedroom “closed off”. The black sand beach was beyond expectations, with the sound of the waves over the rocks easing me into sleep. Aah, perfect.

Our original plan to stay overnight in Hana was to rent one of the cabins at the state park but after playing the online lottery click game at 3am we lost so I found this place on Vrbo and I am so glad it worked out this way. We had the top corner suite (201) with the BEST view. This place is a gem and hope to be back again.

Beautiful property right on a secluded beach. It was amazing hearing the waves crashing all night long. Th property even had family games available in the room for an awesome family time. Beautiful lanai off each room overlooking the ocean made for a great morning view while having coffee.

Absolutely no WiFi despite asking the indifferent managers on duty three times. When a property charges upwards of $450 a night this is deplorable Equally awful was the dated bathroom and furniture. God forbid you sit on any of the chairs or sofa/ the cushions unexpectedly sink down to the a level that shows there is zero foam left.

Loved the view! Unfortunately long black hair was on the shower walls when we arrived. Also the unsecured shower curtain fell onto my 11year old daughter while she was showering. Luckily no injury.

I was very disappointed to see these comments. We have replaced the curtain rod and have spoken to our housekeeper. This is a very unusual incident and not indicative of our quality standards. Most sincere apologies to this guest.

Not my favorite stay
The condo was in a great location. However, I missed the fact that it doesn't have air conditioning. It also stated that there is a washer and dryer. This is not quite true. There is one washer and dryer for the entire complex and it has very restrictive hours. My husband and I read that there was a washer and dryer so we planned to do laundry mid week for our vacation. We traveled around the whole island so less luggage was key. After a day on the Road to Hana, we checked in at 7 pm. Once we realized that the unit did not have its own washer/dryer, we sorted out our laundry and carried it down the hill to do. We were informed that a load of laundry would cost $10, but someone had just started a load so we wouldn't have a chance to put a load in until the next day since access to it closes at 8 pm. I then was informed that I could leave it and they would do it for $20. We were both out of clothes, but were so infuriated by this racket of a process that we waited and had to go to a laundromat the next day. It was terrible customer service, especially when I explained our dilemma of not more clothes and early departure and was greeted with little concern.

Thank you for your comments. It is difficult to communicate all the details of our property in the many websites that we must market through. Most times there is just a box to check without being able to explain. We do have limited laundry hours, but in this case, we should have been more accommodating especially given our remote location. My sincere apologies.

Stayed three nights and excellent service and very comfortable condo. Cleaning staff came every day and changed towels and refreshed coffee. Very nice touch and unexpected for a condo. Great customer service too.

Disappointing
The condo was nice, but is in need of an upgrade. The kitchenette is fine, but the rest is a bit dated and dark for such a wonderful location. And expensive. The manager of the property was lovely and very helpful. The lower condos/rooms looked far better and had a great view.

Thank you for your comments. We are sharing them with the unitʻs owner. This unit has an exceptional view, it is a corner upper floor unit with a king bed. Decor is unique to each unit.

Great Place to Stay in Hana
We enjoyed our 2 night stay in Hana which we planned so that we could see all we wanted on the Road to Hana and the Natl. Park and other sights west of Hana. The Hana Kai complex is well situated, well maintained and has nice views of the water. This unit has a clear view of the water over the front building. The unit itself was well maintained and appointed. The kitchen was updated and clean, the bed very comfortable. (A minor issue but with no ice maker, a few more ice trays would be recommended.) The porch and back porch off the bedroom were a good design feature though we encountered unseasonably cool conditions and some rain and in a short stay did not use them very much. The bathroom was fine though the shower curtain had a bit of mildew. The only real downside we encountered was the louver windows on the side of the living room and bedroom which did not function well (BR) or worse (LR), making it very cool at night - though when I reported it I was told that they would get on fixing/replacing them. The complex is well maintained and staffed by wonderfully friendly and helpful individuals from Management to Front Desk and maintenance staff.

We listened to the sound of the ocean all night!
We were very happy with our stay! The kids were comfortable on the pullout bed and parents enjoyed the King-sized bed. We were happy with no TV and no air conditioning and the kids enjoyed the board games. The kitchen was stocked with necessary cooking supplies. Our favorite thing was walking down to the black sand beach with our coffee in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you Hana Kai Maui!

Wonderful stay!
The unit was clean and pretty and the location was amazing. Check in was easy and quick. If I were to come to Hana again, I would stay here again. My only suggestions would be to have a few more spices on hand for cooking. All they had was salt, pepper and cooking spray. Also, all the beach rentals we have had in the past have some beach chairs, maybe an umbrella or some sand toys, cooler, something! That said, it's a beautiful spot and sitting on the lanai watching the moon was wonderful. The ocean breeze, the waves crashing at night were so relaxing. Thank you for letting us stay in your little slice of heaven

Lovely condo, wonderful location.
We only stayed at this condo for one night, but were very pleased with the unit. It had plenty of room, was clean, nicely appointed, and the view from the lanai was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised, as the pictures really don’t give you a feel for how nice it is. The beds, including the sleep sofa, were very comfortable. The top half of the wall between the living room and bedroom is basically a closable window, so on hot nights the breeze can flow through the entire unit. There were some very nice touches in the condo like a nice bouquet of flowers, local salts and oil, local soaps and toileteries We would definitely recommend this unit, but if you are considering renting, here are a few know-before-you-go items. Hana is in the tropics...it can be hot, it is humid, and there are bugs. Even a clean house will get ants and other critters. There are mosquitos and even geckos may get in the house. True of any accommodation in the area, not specific to this unit, it’s just how it is, so expect it. There is no tv or air conditioning...we were fine without either, but know that not everyone would be. Parking is also rather tight if you get to the condo late.

Eccentric, older property with great view
This condo was a neat place to spend a night while driving the road to Hana. It is older with a unique layout, well-maintained, with a great lanai & view of the beach. Plenty of fans & windows to keep reasonably cool but then very little sound privacy. Price was high but then everything in Hana is!
