'The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a room with a balcony with lovely views. The room was small and in need of an upgrade in my opinion. Older furniture. The bathroom whilst a good size with nice toiletries was also looking tired in parts. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant. 'We had a relaxing couple of days. The staff were first class. Our room was clean & spacious with a lovely double kingsize bed. The service was spot on the food was of good quality,fresh & local I believe.the spa facilities are good and inclusive with extra treatments available for a fee. We came away from there feeling relaxed & refreshed. Would we go back…yes Would we recommend…yes Is there room for improvement..if there is, not by much.'

'Nice people on the reception offering walking guides just to use as soon as we told we were planning to do some walking in the Lake District. The rooms were spaceous and very clean. In the morning on request freshly baken croissants or oatmeal During the evenings we used the DVD service for free. You can pick one and play a movie in the room.'

'Our room, on the first floor, was excellent with lovely views. The food was of a high quality and the service was very good except on one of our three evenings when we were forgotten about and it took at least three complaints to get our meal started. On this occasion we were in the restaurant for about two hours and it took 45 minutes before we got our starter. This was a shame because otherwise everything was perfect.'

'Ik heb een erg aangenaam verblijf van enkele dagen gehad in YHA Langdale. Vriendelijk personeel, goed uitgeruste keuken, twee prettige zitkamers, schone kamers en badkamers. Het enige mogelijke minpunt is de locatie: ontzettend mooi, maar enigszins afgelegen als je niet met de auto komt. Maar als je in goede conditie bent is alles lopend bereikbaar. '

'Very average. Overall a nice pub area. Checkin was rushed. No parking nearby and confusing as to which car parks allowed overnight parking. Carpets were filthy and didn't look like they had been hoovered in a week. Breakfast was fine. '

'Een bijzonder leuke locatie. Heel rustige ruime tuin aan het water. Wel jammer dat er picknicktafels staan. Ook geen airco op de kamer en in het restaurant geen ober die de bestellingen voor drinken en eten kwam opnemen. Een heel mooi restaurant. '

'Très bien situé à l’entrée d’Ambleside, nous avons beaucoup aimé cet établissement. Les déjeuners y sont complets et copieux et leur programme Green qui permet d’avoir une consommation par jour si on ne demande pas le service de nettoyage vaut le coup. Notre chambre était petite et au 3ème étage. Ça peut être un défi avec les bagages. Le plus gros inconvénient était de n’avoir aucun crochet dans la chambre ou même dans la salle de bain pour les serviettes. Cet aspect serait à améliorer…'
