De dag voordat wij naar Havana afreisde hadden we via whatsapp contact met Alex en gaf hij nog wat handige tips. De accommodatie is erg netjes en schoon en zit in een rustige wijk. Op verzoek serveren ze een ontbijt met vers fruit, een eitje en brood. Alex gaf ons allerlei tips en vanaf de casa zijn wij lopend naar het centrum gegaan - 5 km Wij raden deze plek zeer aan!

Alex nous a reçu comme sa propre famille, il était très prévenant, gentil et à très bien conseillé pour notre séjour à La Havane , le petit déjeuner était très bon. Seulement 1 nuit chez Alex qui est un amour !! La maison est magnifique, on a la sentation de dormir dans un palais d'antan. La chambre est nickel et la salle de bain au top (c'est rarement le cas à Cuba). Alex est d'une incroyable gentillesse et vous réservera des taxis sans problème. Je recommande chaudement cette adresse !

Casa estupenda y familia acogedora y cariñosa
La estancia en Villa Carmita ha sido excelente en todos los sentidos. La casa es preciosa, bien cuidada, limpia y la ubicación estupenda, pero sobre todo la pareja que regenta la casa son una maravilla. Hospitalarios y amables en todo momento. Nos cuidaron y trataron como si fuéramos familiares. Desayunamos en la casa todos los días y el desayuno fue muy completo, variado y rico. Fuimos cuatro personas y todos coincidimos en que es totalmente recomendable para alojarse y desayunar en La Habana. Espero volver pronto para repetir estancia en su casa.

The owner offered to change USD to Peso, saying he was an honest man and there were lots of dodgy people on the street changing counterfit peso. He said the bank rate was 110 and he would give us 200. He told us to always come to Alex to change money. Later we foind the shop next door was exchanging for 250 and this was the rate used everwhere. He ripped us off.

Sr. Michael, I was an excellent hoster with your and your son, I received you very well, I was extremely kind, my house is an excellent place, the rooms are perfect, quite, clean, even I given you coffee and milk free. Before you leave you sayed me that you stayed very well here in my house, however you don't say anything about my hotel in your review.I really don't know why you make this kind of review about me. I just talked you that tourist in Cuba must exchange the money in bank, not exchange on the street because is a risk. The official exchange rate in bank is 110 cuban pesos per 1 USD. In the informal market the exchange rate has different values, is not an official rate, that was what I exactly explained you. I think your review is not fair. Thanks for staying in Villa Carmita.

A Very Nice Place!
I enjoyed my stay at Villa Carmita. The owners went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and to answer questions I had about restaurants, transportation and local attractions.
Villa Carmita is one block from John Lennon Park.

It was my first night in Cuba, after a long trip. I felt really secure and comfortable, the room was clean, with air-conditioning, very important. I had a good night sleep. Alex was very welcoming and helpful with everything, he helped me with money exchange and getting a taxi to my next destination. I highly recommend Villa Carmita for a stay in la Habana.

The best casa in Cuba!!!
This is my second visit to Habana and I am totally satisfied this casa during my 9 days staying. The casa has a clean large room with air conditioning, beautiful lounge and confortable terrace. The owner Alex is a very very nice person and he makes a good breakfast with cuban fresh fruits every morning. The area around this casa is for real Habana homies. You could spend the real Hbana life in here. For example, I had been visiting the Bohemian style cafe, the art gallary style bar, the reggeton club for homies and etc.. The owner Alex will make your any travel wish come true. I am strongly recommend this casa for all who love Habana!!!

Villa Carmita is wonderfully situated within walking distances of major avenues and boulevards where there is so much to see and do in El Vedado. Alex and his family are warm, welcoming and were very attentive to my needs. The room and the common areas are kept spotlessly clean at all times and my room was cleaned daily. Bathroom facilities were excellent with sufficient hot water. The only downside is the weak and, too often, unavailable wifi connection that was a constant source of stress. Many thanks to Alex and his family for their warm hospitality during my stay.

Me quedé en junio 2023. Habitaciones con aire acondicionado y ventilador, agua caliente. Muy limpia, techos altos, casi ningún insecto. Con caja fuerte gratuita, y una horas de wifi gratis (el resto a 200 pesos la hora). El ultimo día de estancia se nos cortó la luz y el agua (el casero nos comentó que era porque estaban podando los árboles de la calle). Desde la reserva el casero facilitó su teléfono para indicarme por WhatsApp como llegar al lugar, el coste aproximado del taxi, ofrecernos cambio de divisas y el desayuno a 5E (aunque no desayuné ningún día). El lugar se encuentra en el vedado, para llegar a la zona turística es necesario transporte (taxi, colectivo o guagua) yo usé colectivo (el casero nos ayudó con las indicaciones de donde y como cogerlo) lo que nos costaba unos 150 pesos por persona cada viaje ( a veces más y a veces menos). Hay una tienda justo al lado de la casa. También hay nevera en la habitación y nos vendieron botellas de agua pequeñas por 200 pesos cada una. La llave que nos facilitaron era solo de la habitación, por lo que para la entrada general debíamos tocar, aunque nunca nos hicieron esperar (tampoco llegamos ningún día especialmente tarde). El casero muy atento con todo lo que pudiéramos necesitar, nos aconsejó bastante y fue muy agradable. También se ofreció a solicitarnos Uber cuando nos fuimos.

The casa is clean and well-maintained. Alex, the owner, is very helpful and makes sure we have what we need. Room has aircon, fan and hot shower. Wifi, water and laundry services are available at a fee. It’s better to change Cuban pesos with Alex, compared to outside, as he gives good exchange rates and is more legit. Neighbourhood feels safe to walk around even at night. A few eateries in the vicinity, and even more if you go 5-10mins by taxi. Highly recommended to stay here!

It is a nice colonial house with big clean rooms. Rooms are specious with AC and en-suit bathroom. The Bed was big comfortable with very clean sheets. Alex the owner is a very friendly person helps with everything you need. The area is very safe and walk-able with many cafe and restaurant options. It is also close to popular art/entertainment place called Fabrica de Arte Cubano.

Excellent choice
Our best Casa during 4 weeks traveling in Cuba. The owner Alex and his family are incredible helpful and give support in all belongings you need for planing a unforgetable trip. The house and rooms are in excellent condition, the breakfast delicious and the location in a quiet and safe destrict. We found new friends and hope to come back soon.

Propietario muy entusiasta y servicial . Muy amigable y siempre pendiente del bienestar de sus huéspedes. Hotel muy limpio y luminoso. Buen desayuno y disponible a pesar de ser tan temprano. Eine Perle im Vedado von Habana
Die schöne und gepflegte Villa Carmita Casa Colonial befindet sich in der Nähe der Avenidas Paseo und Línea. Hier fahren die Autobusse in alle Richtungen, u.a. nach Habana Vieja, direkt zum Capitol und Hotel Inglaterra, ggb. dem Parque José Marti. Auch der Parque "John Lennon" ist ganz in der Nähe. Die Villa liegt in einem sehr ruhigen Viertel und vermittelt eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Wir hatten drei Nächte gebucht (4.7. - 6.7.22) und wurden von der freundlichen und charmanten Gastgeberfamilie "Alex, Yuri und der Mutter von Alex" liebenswert versorgt, die jederzeit anwesend war. Das Zimmer (Nr. 3 neben dem Frühstücksaal) ist sehr schön eingerichtet und geräumig. Eine Klimaanlage sowie ein Ventilator sorgen für die gewünschte Temperatur und Luftzirkulation. Das Bett ist ungewöhnlich bequem. Das Bad ist ein Hingucker, ebenfalls geräumig und sehr sauber. Die Reinigung findet täglich statt. Wer möchte, kann für den nächsten Tag ein buntes Frühstück (extra) bestellen, welches liebevoll von Yuri gezaubert wird und wie folgt an einem langen Holztisch im Frühstücksraum sehr ansprechend gedeckt wird: Ein großes Omelett oder 2 Spiegeleier, Brot, Honig, Käse, eine bunte Obstplatte (variabel), ein großes Glas Fruchtsaft (variabel) und sehr guter Kaffee (mit oder ohne Milch) oder Tee. I really do love this my stay at his home. Ale was the most amazing host very friendly and accommodating. This being my first solo trip I was a bit hesitant however he not only made me feel comfortable but also safe. The home was so beautiful and unique and the food offered for breakfast and dinner was plentiful and delicious. I would visit again and would recommend to everyone I know who would 10/10

Un lugar muy simpático, con una atención muy especial de Alex, el propietario. Resalta la limpieza y orden de la habitación. Así mismo, ubicado cerca a lugares importantes a conocer y a una serie de restaurantes con variedad culinaria.

La casa di Alex è bellissima, molto ben conservata e mantenuta, la camera è grande, comoda e attrezzata, il bagno è nuovissimo, e Alex è stato un host molto gentile e disponibile. Ottima localizzazione e facile da trovare!
