Wonderful week
Nice sized condo with a spectacular view. It sleeps 6 but we only had 4 adults and it was the perfect size. All appliances worked - washer and dryer were great to have. In master bedroom due to design - people from the next units balcony can see right into the bedroom IF you have the window blinds open. Be careful. Overall a great stay. We want to go back soon!

The location is ok however the AC is undersized for this property, the temperature was at 78 when we arrived, took 1day to get the level down to 74 with all curtains closed, the back bedroom does not have an AC unit and the couple was not comfortable the entire trip. The TV cable was out for 2 days, the master bedroom TV could not get working. The second day we left some food on the counter and it ended up being infested by the bugs, the second day the cockroaches appeared, this absolutely made this place rated at the bottom

Sorry that I was unaware of your issues. The A/C units are properly stated in the description of our property at Papakea. There is no central air, however there are many electric fans to cool the back facing 2nd bedroom. Our unit does face directly West to the Oceanfront. It can be very warm with direct sun shining, so that's what the blinds are for! The cable disruption is beyond my control, as the service interruption was caused by Spectrum Cable Company doing labor outside, due to 🔥 devastation in Lahaina. Welcome to the tropics; Papakea employs pest control monthly service, which comes to our unit. Hope you enjoyed most of your stay on the beautiful island of Maui. ~Janet

Family Trip
Beautiful location and accommodations sum up our experience! The lanai view of whales, dolphins, and sea turtles was just amazing- we spent a lot of time enjoying the wildlife. The condo was comfortable and the layout worked well for our group --everyone had their own space and we appreciated the convenience of having a washer and dryer. Janet was very responsive to a slight issue we had and it was fixed without any problems the next day. We would love to stay here again in the future!

Janet’s condo is in the perfect location. Saw multiple rainbows, turtle and young seal napping on the beach. Sitting in the lanai every morning, such beautiful ocean views. We walked to Kaanapali restaurants several times during our stay. The condo is the best stocked condo I have ever been in. Her kitchen has everything, you only need to buy food! Her unit will always be our first choice in Maui!

Family vacation
This unit was perfect for our family stay. We were on vacation with our adult children and their partners. The three bed, three bath layout gave each couple plenty of personal space while allowing us to enjoy time together as well. The view from our balcony was incredible. Many people from our travel group came to our unit specifically to see it. Janet was easy to work with. She was flexible when we needed to make a change to our departure date and she clearly communicated everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The end of our stay coincided with the devastating fire in Lahaina. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Maui.

This beautiful condo had everything we needed for our stay for my husband and I and our two adult children. We had our own bedrooms, bathrooms, a beautiful view. We saw dolphins and turtles from our view on the balcony. The kitchen was well-equipped. There were beach towels and beach chairs, a small cooler. The owners were great communicators. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Condo!
This was an amazing oceanfront condo in one of the best locations in Maui! It is well maintained and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Roaches in Paradise
Our first impression was awesome. Until we realized that the condo was infested with roaches. All 10 days of our stay, we encountered roaches. Morning, noon and night we battled with them in the kitchen. They were every where,even coming out of the electrical outlets. This was our 7th trip to Maui and we've never encountered such a sight. I called Janet/owner to advise her of our encounters and she said the roaches were normal and had the condo serviced regularly. Janet became very defensive and started up come up with excuses, then threatened to have us kicked out because we were unhappy with the condo. And the fact that the exterminator had access to our unit without approval when we were out was also upsetting. The complex over all was beautiful and all the staff/workers were outstanding. But we will never stay here again. The owner Janet, was very unprofessional and seemed to be upset and put out that I called during her visit with her 90 yr. old mother's birthday. I will be sure to tell all my friends about this place. Never Again!

I am the owner of this beautiful condo. I first heard about the issue 5 days into his stay The guest emailed me via Vrbo. I called him that day to get more information so we could work together for a solution. He said he would not be doing my job for me. He had no interest in working with me, and questioned my ability and professionalism to take care & manage my condo. I do not live on Maui. I offered to relocate them if he was unhappy or refund him if they decided to leave. I told him that I would make the appropriate calls and he would be hearing from the people that I contacted. I never meant to offend our guest. I do not live on Maui, however I work with professionals to help with services & keep my condo in great condition. I also come to Maui twice a year to continue updating and refreshing the unit. Papakea has quarterly pest control service scheduled as well. Please note that I respond to my guests as you will read in all my reviews. Maui is a special place and we want our guests to enjoy their stay. I have now had exterminators do a complete clean out and continue with service for a 2nd treatment in a timely manner. There is a certain time frame for these treatments that need consideration. The property was absolutely gorgeous! Check in was very easy, everyone who worked on the property was so nice and welcoming. The unit surpassed our expectations. Papekea is a lovely property and this unit is very nice. We enjoyed spectacular views and spotted whales & sea turtles from our lanai. We were a party of four so there was plenty of room and seating for all on the lanai. This is a 4th floor unit so you can choose to climb stairs or there is an elevator located mid- building. It is nicely appointed and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Beautiful, Comfortable & Perfect
We loved everything about Janet’s place. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The view is spectacular! We watched whales and the sunset from our balcony every day. The beach has beautiful sand but is also quite rocky so we were glad to have our water shoes with us. The property is beautiful and both Janet and the front desk staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend Janet’s place and would definitely love to stay here again.

Best Beach Vacation
The property was exactly (maybe even better) than described. The bed’s, especially the primary bedroom was THE MOST comfortable than any rental I’ve stayed. The kitchen had everything, including some essential seasonings and foil/baggies that came in handy. The view was spectacular and searching for whales with the included binoculars made late afternoons fun! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a ocean view 3 bedroom condo! It checked all our boxes and then some!

Papakea is amazing. The location is great and the resort is very well maintained. It’s a quiet location and very family friendly. This is our 2nd year staying at Papakea but our 1st time in this particular condo. The good: the view. The view does not get any better. If an ocean front view is important to you, this is a perfect condo. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is updated and is well stocked. We had a few maintenance issues while at the condo and the host is super responsive. The bad: we were 6 adults and it was pretty cramped. There is too much furniture and there are knick knacks everywhere on every surface. I personally needed more functional space such as shelves in the bedrooms or hooks to hang towels and robes. The upstairs loft bedroom had no privacy (missing a wall and door). The 2nd bedroom has no a/c so the door had to remain open 24/7 to allow air in. So 2/3 bedrooms basically have no privacy. The living room furniture is outdated and has an odor. It needs to be either replaced. We didn’t feel comfortable sitting on it. Although it was “clean” when we checked in, it wasn’t deep cleaned. To be honest, I find this to be the case with most VRBO’s and this is probably the last one that I’ll stay in. Overall, I would not choose to stay in this particular condo again because of the lack of a/c in all rooms, as well as the size of the condo.

Thank you for your feedback. All the living room upholstery, including "loft"carpet & stairs have been steam cleaned this week. Every bedroom/loft has a dresser and closet w/ hooks for guests. There are 3 private bathrooms with cabinet drawers. I'm sorry you felt cramped and uncomfortable. I am always keeping our unit clean and updated. ~Janet

Amazing & spacious condo right on the ocean
The condo is even nicer than in pictures! We are a family of 5 and it was super comfortable and spacious with 3 bedrooms, beds for us all. 2 twins in the loft upstairs, and other bedrooms on the main floor both with king size beds. 3 bathrooms. The ceilings are very high in the bedrooms and main living room so it feels extra spacious , compared to the other suites we've stayed in at Papakea. The master bedroom has all windows that face the ocean so it's a dream to wake up to - you hear the waves all night. The patio is so lovely as you are literally almost on the ocean. There was always a breeze coming in so we didn't use A/C but they do have it. The condo was very neat and tidy and had all the supplies you need (I did have to buy some laundry detergent though and paper towel! but not a huge deal). Janet the host was super responsive. The condo grounds are also great with lovely swimming pools, tennis courts and pickel ball - which we all played - and you can walk along the boardwalk for quite some ways. Would definitely come back! Thank you Janet and family for allowing others to rent this!

The location and condo itself were wonderful. The views are spectacular, and there was more than enough space for the six adults traveling in our group. The property has nice amenities with the pool and hot tub, and the condo had a good number of additional items like towels and beach chairs for use. A few, very minor inconviences. We weren't able to check in until 4pm, and the checkout time listed in the booklet in the unit is 10:30, rather than the 11am we had been told previously. We also had an unexpected visit from the exterminator service, which left us unable to access the unit for a couple hours one afternoon. I'd definitely return to this property if we're ever able to make it back to Maui!

What’s Not To Love?
On arrival, the unit was spotless, and nicer than the pictures portrayed. Top floor, facing west - best view of sunsets, beach, & water! Great, clean, fully equipped kitchen - we mostly snacked at the unit, and prepped for lunches on the go, eating most dinners out, but the kitchen and two tables (one on the lanai) would have served well for intimate or family meals. At home, we sleep with fans for background white noise. Here we slept with windows open, and only the sound of peaceful breaking waves to lull us to and through great nights of sleep! We had two small problems beyond prediction or management control that Janet worked to get resolved ASAP and to our great satisfaction. Our biggest disappointment was that we could only spend a week at this beautiful home! Next time . . . 10 days minimum!!

Loved everything about this property. The condo was as advertised. Beautifully decorated with any amenity we needed. The view from the Lanai was stunning. Great Family Rental with a view
We really enjoyed our stay at L402 in Papakea. It is right on the ocean, so the view is great. It was my wife and me and 3 boys. There were plenty of beach towels, chairs, snorkeling gear for all of us, which was nice. Didn’t need to communicate much with the property owner, but she was very prompt when we did have questions. It feels hot in there when you get there at check in, but with the AC on and the cool down at night, we always slept very comfortably. Overall, it was a great choice, highly recommend it.

Aloha, The superb views, excellent location, and responsive owner rated 5 Stars. The ants in the kitchen, poor central air, and property management staff are 3-4 stars. I bought a couple of rotating fans and a box fan to help, but in August, the heat may be an issue. It is the absolute best area IMO to stay on the island. The sunsets are beautiful, and the beaches are fantastic for snorkeling. This was our second stay, and we would recommend this property if you're looking for these amenities while in Maui. Mahalo!

Wonderful views and a great time.
We had a wonderful time relaxing Oceanside. We were able to see a whale from the balcony. Wonderful place to stay with a variety of food options within walking distance. The only con we could find was the back bedroom had a hard time cooling down. Overall great time and experience.

Wonderful Family Vacation
Amazing ocean view and sunsets and very close to market and restaurant in walking distance was Able to see a whale 1 evening and a beautiful rainbow one morning. Can’t wait to come back 😀
