A very creepy abandoned house in Heather, Leicestershire. Thinking it's Victorian? I heard about it from my son - so of course I had to take a look. I was not expecting this. The house can not be seen from the roadside. There is a long, tree-lined overgrown track leading up to it. The garden is huge with mature trees. Sadly, its now neglected & I'd love to know why...

'Rooms are outdated, like the room I used in Prague in the 80 s. The service of the personal was perfect. The restaurant was like a hamburgertent. So do not go for a diner there. You could go to a Mac. Donalds or something simmular to that. And those who smoke , don't go there. The cleaning personal , I give them a big hugh, they are perfect.'

'Nice Clean room staff very nice and friendly welcoming only things which could be improved on are the main carpets in corridors look a little tired but room was spotless and faultless. spot on and excellent value for money and no tea and coffee in room but they have made it free from bar downstairs. Id stay again without hesitation breakfast under £10 very good too '

'Room 10: The carpet looked like it had been vacuumed for a while. Dedicated coffee was still hanging on the apparently washed coffee cups! There was a piece of candy stuck on the floor in the bathroom. There was no toilet brush and the bottom of the toilet was dirty! Too bad because the beds and bathroom looked fairly recent. With some attention to hygiene this would be a good hotel. You have to take into account that it is next to a guarded truck parking lot where the refrigerated trucks can be...

'Shame that by my previous visit, the residents licence had lapsed so the bar wasn't open late for residents and this time the bar licence had also lapsed so you couldn't get a drink in the hotel. The staff did inform me that the bar was to be outsourced. Hopefully that has already happened.'

'Stayed here many times over the years as it's convenient for Donington racing circuit. It's not a 5 star hotel, but gives excellent value for money in comfortable surroundings. Hotel is 2 minutes walk from the pub making it a convenient stopover. Plenty of free parking as well. Will definitely be visiting again. About 9 miles from Donington.'

'Staff are really friendly and very helpful rooms are lovely and clean and beds are very comfortable supplied with plenty of fresh towels and room for all your belongings and the restaurant has amazing food lots of choice and good value for money and cooked fresh this is my 3rd visit and will continue to stay '

"Absolutely awful stay, although it must have been a great hotel to stay 20 years ago. It’s nothing like that anymore and nothing like that. Rooms are enormously old, reception is unfriendly and not showing that they don’t want to work there. Extra: I have received a parking fine even though I submitted my car registration number. After multiple times of contacting the hotel. Promising cancellations of the fine, nothing has been done."
