We are little disappointed to see that we only received a 5 point rating which is a low score for the Pheasant Inn. The Pheasant Inn strives to ensure that all guests receive a warm welcome and a memorable stay.

We do have a wonderful team of staff at the Pheasant Inn who do their best to provide everyone with a warm welcome. We are sorry that you felt the price you paid was a little expensive however, there are lot of other things that have to be costed into the price of an overnight stay so we feel that the price is fair and competitive. Guests also receive an excellent breakfast which is cooked to order. We accept that some some of our rooms are smaller, but we hope that you will agree that they are tastefully furnished, warm and cosy. All feedback is appreciated by the team and we hope that you will visit us again in the future.

We are sorry that you were disappointed to learn that your dog was not able to come into the bar and dining areas of the pub. We have never allowed dogs into the bar and dining areas. Our policy regarding pets is posted on our website and we ask all guests who would like to bring their dogs to contact us by phone so that we can make it clear that we do not allow dogs inside the main building. We are delighted to hear that the manager was able to find you alternative accommodation.

Thank you for your feedback Roger, we take on board all guest feedback both positive and negative. First of all, we would like to apologize that your wife waited a while for her breakfast on the 9th of September, we had a stand-in chef cooking breakfast that morning to cover a rare day off for my husband and I as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I can see that this small delay happened only on the last day of your 3-day short break so presumably, you enjoyed good service and a great breakfast for the first 2 days of your stay. Also the quality and standard of your breakfast would still have been very good despite it being delayed. Since the Pheasant Inn reopened after lock-down, bookings for accommodation and dinner have been unprecedented. Country-wide, people in hospitality are struggling to run their businesses with reduced levels of staff. We are no different, this puts a lot of strain and pressure on the staff we currently employ, however, that they are doing an excellent job and we are still managing to maintain high standards and great service as all of the reviews have highlighted. The Kershaw family has been running the Pheasant Inn successfully for 37 years, so we do take exception to your comment of more leadership. We are sorry that the size of your double bed was not suitable. As this is not a big room, we do not want to overpower the room with a large bed but we do accept that you would prefer a larger bed. We are delighted that you enjoyed all of the delicious food that you ate throughout your stay and that you would be happy to return to the Pheasant Inn.
