Perfect spot to relax
We enjoyed our stay at the lakeside chalet. Morning coffee on the porch with a beautiful view of the lake followed by a kayak trip and then a nap. We will definitely come back again.

Great spot - great stay!
This was our third time at the chalet on Lake Chatuge. The facility is great, the location is just beautiful, the swimming and kayaking was fun, and the fishing wasn't bad either. We'll be back again.

Amazing Lake Getaway
We had the absolute best time at Wendy’s chalet! The decoration and theme of the place is even better in person, the pictures don’t do it justice! We already booked again for next summer! Any questions we had, Wendy responded within minutes!

Great peaceful place on the Lake
This was our second stay at the chalet. Both times just a great experience. Quiet and peaceful with a nice lake view in a secluded cove. Had great luck fishing from the boat dock this time, caught a 2 pound and a 3 pound large mouth bass. Fileted them and fried them up for lunch the first two days. Paddled around the lake on the provided kayaks a few times. The chalet is cozy and quaint inside and makes you feel right at home. We'll come back again.

Perfect couples getaway right on the lake
My husband and I stayed at this charming little house right on the lake for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was the perfect size for a couple and SO beautifully furnished. I was just blown away by how thoughtful and gorgeous the decor was in every room — the property owner, Wendy, really has a gift. Great communication and very gracious & accommodating for our needs, which we greatly appreciated. The porch extends across the living room to the bedroom, with outdoor access from both and huge windows across the whole side of the house so that the beautiful lake view can be seen from every room. The purple flowering bushes around the porch attracted lots of butterflies. It also had super comfy papasan chairs, a porch swing, and a nice grill. The kitchen had grilling tools, beautiful & unique dishware and flatware, and an adorable coffee station also set up with bar glasses and a wine bucket. The appliances were all updated and in fantastic condition. The whole property, indoors and outdoors, was very clean and well-kept. The lake was super easy to access from the house, very close and only about 6 stairs down from the back porch. You can access the water directly from the grassy slope, or there are wooden stairs off the boat dock that go all the way down into the water. Would be perfect for anyone with mobility issues. They offer free access to a kayak, a paddle board, a water trike, and a huge water mat for playing on the lake. The water mat was pretty much the greatest thing ever, and you could see lots of fish under the docks for anyone interested in fishing. This is one of five little houses all right next to each other on one property, so the picnic tables, fire pit, and lake access are shared between them. We were initially concerned about privacy, but we saw almost no one in the 3 days we were there. The porches are also staggered in such a way that you can’t see anyone from the other houses when you’re on the porch, which was really well designed. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be really happy to stay here again.

Chatuge Lake Vacay
We so enjoyed our lake vacation at Wendy & Jerry’s place. It was easy to find and in a great location on the lake and close to the town of Hiawassee. The place is super cute and very comfortable. All the furniture inside and outside was very comfy and the chalet was the perfect size for my husband and I. I think it would be fine for a couple with 1 or 2 children, but more than that would be tight. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook most of our meals. We brought our pontoon and was able to put it in the lake just down the road at a landing. It was great that Wendy & Jerry's place had a spot to store the trailer on the property. There was plenty of room to park our pontoon at the dock. I didn’t realize until we got there that there are five chalets on the property so I can see where the dock could get crowded if each place were rented; especially if there were multiple couples with kids. We stayed out on the lake on our pontoon all day each day so it wasn’t an issue for us. We really enjoyed our stay, we would stay again, and would definitely recommend it.

Little Community
Our stay was very brief, but worth the stop. Wendy and Jerry have the cutest little cottage, nicely decorated. We could not have asked for it to be any nicer. Our only complaint would be not knowing the the lake is drained some (making it have lower than normal water levels) this time of year. Wendy was quick to respond every time I sent a message. Thanks for sharing your place and cute little community with us.

Disappointed with the lake (super low). Would have been nice to know the lake level is lower this time of year. Bathroom was cold - may want to place a heater in the bathroom. Otherwise WONDERFUL!! Clean, cozy, great amenities, had EVERYTHING you could want or need for a weekend stay - hosts pays attention to details! Lovely lovely place.

Enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin at beautiful Lake Chatuge!
A pleasant get away at an amazing lake. Nice location with easy access to the lake and town. We enjoyed using the kayaks that the owner provided, we rented a boat to explore the entire lake, did some hiking at one of the near by falls, enjoyed several restaurants in town & shopping was fun. We would definitely rent here again.

Love this Chalet and cove!
This is our 4th time renting this Chalet and it never disappoints! Love the private cove and the amenities that are provided. We will come for as long as these stay standing! The town is really close and plenty to eat. Love that it is dog friendly as well! Highly recommend!

Perfect Vacation Getaway
A beautiful home in a awesome location! Easy lake access and large dock to enjoy the day with small children. This home had everything we needed plus more. Location is just minutes from town if you need to run out and grab anything. Check in and check out was super easy and convenient. We loved it. I live in Ga, have gone to cherokee , and helen a bunch in my life . This was my first trip to Hiwassie , and Lake Chatuge . We have already booked again in June , and plan on making this a regular get away. Although the fishing was slow . But hopefully next trip will be better. It felt like home.

This was our first visit to the area. The cottage was exactly as described. Thoughtfully decorated and appointed with everything we needed. Cabin was cute, loved decor but there were crumbs on floor and furniture and dust and cobwebs on fans, lights, and in tub. Road noise was so loud it made sitting on porch very unpleasant.

WE MADE SEVERAL EXCEPTIONS FOR THIS GUEST....SORRY SHE WAS NOT HAPPY, ANY HOUSEKEEPING ISSUES COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN ADDRESSED, OUR HOUSEKEEPER IS ALWAYS AROUND AND SUPER ATTENTIVE. WE ALLOWED MICHELLE TO BRING THREE DOGS AND HAD THE CABIN CLEANED QUICKLY FOR AN EARLY CHECK IN, WHICH SHE REQUESTED. WE STRIVE TO MAKE ALL OF OUR GUESTS HAPPY AND ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR ANY ISSUES.

It would have been alot better if it would have had instructions how to operate the TV. Other than that we had a great time. Later that evening I realized that my sister had her TV like that one.come to find out that evening the batteries were dead. In the skinny black remote.Hay don't forget to put batteries in the remote,we left the dead batteries in there..I just wish I wasn't bone to bone in both hips so I could really enjoy it better., The steps were a too steep for mine condition. Other than that we still enjoyed our self.
